Mia did a good job, my only complaint is that she kept hitting my skin around the cuticle and caused redness, irritation, and slight pain to touch. But besides that, she did a beautiful job on the nails. Will definitely return because they are so nice.

Great job! I scheduled an appointment for a Gel Removal + New Set. The confirmation email said it'd be $45 (no design etc). I was the only customer when I came in at 12pm on a Friday. Two people came in after me. This is the reference photo I showed the woman doing my nails, and she was confident she could do it, and she totally did! After removing what was left of my 2-month old gel set and prepping my nails, she started with 2 layers of a light/thin nude color. Then moved on to the design. She asked for the reference photo again and was looking at it the whole time. She even re-started the blue on one nail when she messed up a little. She did 2 layers of the blue. Then she did 2 layers of top coat. Total was $65 before tip. I asked for her name and it sounded like she said "Greenly" but I probably misheard her.

I'm always in North Beach but I've never gotten my nails done here. Luckily for me one of my nails broke and my fingers looked awful, but it led me to this gem! I got a gel manicure done by Mai and she was so meticulous with the filing, cuticle cutting, and painting. I love when the polish is super close to the cuticle line and perfectly rounded. Mai made sure I loved the shape before she proceeded cutting it. Everyone in the nail salon was super nice as well. Would def be coming back :)

Excellent experience and service! Came here on Labor Day and I was the only one there! I did call earlier that day and made an appointment, and was able to get one same day! Great start! When I arrived, Long (spelling?) was ready to help me right away! She was attentive and professional! Just a great auntie all around! I did a gel removal and regular manicure. I was indecisive when it came to what color to pick and Long was so helpful, painting different colors on my nails to demonstrate, and helping me choose! We picked out a shimmery one with stars and circles and she was so patient to dig out the stars in the polish to put them on my nails! Super grateful for how considerate she is! Also it was baking hot that day and she turned on a fan facing me so it will be cooler, so sweet! The total came out to $30, which is a great price! She was attentive to the end, making sure my nails are dry and set before letting me go. Will definitely be back for a pedicure soon!

Came here yesterday for a nail appointment. I asked for glazed donut nails and showed a picture of what I wanted. I asked my nail tech if she could do it, and if not, I'd just stick with a classic manicure with red polish. The lady told me confidently that she knew how to do it, and that it'd have to be a gel manicure for $40. I agreed, thinking she had done this design before. But then she didn't seem to know what colors to use and also put on way too much chrome nail powder- my nails looked completely silver and not at all like the pinkish glazed donut look. By the time I realized she was almost done, I told her it wasn't what I had initially asked for. But she said it was too late and she couldn't change it. Then when charging me, she mentioned that the chrome powder cost an extra $10, which she had failed to mention earlier. I ended up paying over $50 for a manicure I didn't like and not at all like the glazed donut nails I had asked for. I should've just stuck with a classic manicure for cheaper. I definitely would not come back. This is my first 1 star review, but I was genuinely very disappointed with my experience at New Age Nails.

They changed ownership a long time ago, but I didn't update my review. This update is long overdue. Because of this salon's proximity to my work, this location is so convenient for me. My initial return went so well, I've come in numerous times since. They demonstrate great care and attention to detail, every time. There's no haste or rushing, regardless of how busy they are. It's a peaceful experience, like it should be! I've been so happy with them that I came here for my wedding nails. My. Wedding. Nails. And they NAILED IT!!! Really, they were perfect. i've been looking for a reasonably priced nail place in the city for awhile now. i've been here twice now and both times have been in love with how my nails turned out. i've had both bam and mai as my technicians. both of them did an amazing job on the cuticle work and shape. it's around $60 for a regular hard gel fill with no design. i got chrome so mine came out to $72 without tip. my first time i went, my nails lasted a whole month. i will keep coming here and highly recommend. read more

Easy to make appointments, nice and good quality service, smaller area but easy to get in and out. Very understanding when I asked for different polish or trying another coat. They prioritize making your nails looking good. Would go again for gel pedicure and manicure. read more

The service is phenomenal here!! It's a small salon and I highly recommend an appointment to ensure service as these gals get very busy!! I did gel x in medium almond. We cut off the number at the tip of the nail and kept the length. This has been the best set I have ever gotten in terms of the care and quality that went into the install. Looove this place and do not intend to do my nails any where else. This will be my go to spot! read more

I've been coming to Mai for about 6 months and she always does an amazing job! This is probably my fave mani to date so I wanted to share it. Silver chrome gel mani. *Please note* With chrome nails the base layer makes ALL the difference! I had this done with a black base so the silver was more opaque/solid.. if you were to put this over a white base it would be transparent. Chrome is a topper not a base color. Please listen to her recommendations if you show her a photo. She knows what she is doing! 10/10 recommend Mai and New Age Nails - best in north beach and sf! read more

I wish I could give this place more than five stars!! - I booked an appointment less than an hour before I came in and they had one available - huge assortment of colors - extremely accommodating and meticulous with my pedicure and gel manicure - massaged me for 20 minutes - the quality of my gel is the best I've ever had (see photo for reference), 5 coats total In summary, I highly recommend this place!! Mai did an amazing job on my jelly dip powder nails. She was so attentive and she was so focused on what she was doing and took her time to make it look the best. She made sure that I was satisfied with the shape and the color. The nails came out amazing. Mai was so understanding and kind of what I wanted. They also offer complimentary drinks. Update after 2 weeks, my dip nails still look so amazing. They're so durable and never ripped off even once. Will be coming back a lot more to support them! 10/10 read more

I called on Sunday to see if I could get 2 mani/pedis and was pleased when they told me they had availability. My boyfriend and I walked down and were greeted by our nail techs, Mai and Lory. They were kind enough to offer water or tea before we started. Mai was my nail tech and she is a perfectionist! They did not have a matching gel/regular polish color, so Mai picked out the perfect shade of pink. For my nails, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she combined 3 different gel colors to get the perfect shade. She was also a perfectionist when it came to my nail shape. My boyfriend also spoke very highly of Lory. He really enjoyed the leg message that came with his pedi. I am so impressed and will continue to get my nails done here! read more

I have never written a Yelp review before but New Age Nails is worth it! I have been going to Mai at New Age Nails for 6 months now. The salon is clean and they always provide a complimentary beverage! Mai really takes her time and makes sure that my nails are perfect when I leave. I have pretty thin nails so she makes sure to treat them gently, uses strengthening solution, and does not over-file them. It is easy to schedule with her and I'm always happy with how they turn out. One time she asked me what my favorite nail color was and she bought it for the next time I came in! Amazing service, please visit them! read more

Kathy is amazing! I called for a pedicure on a Monday and she was able to fit me in at 4pm. She even texted to confirm. She greeted me by name and got me seating and soaking right away. They were a little busy when I first got there, but she continued to check in with me which I really appreciated. You can tell this is a locals loved spot, she's been there for 10 years! I heard her telling the woman next to me that she should take a break from her gel nails for them to heal, and that she'll always try to give the service we want, but also wants you to take care of yourself. I loved that honesty and it really endeared me to her salon. Her pricing is super affordable ($30 for a pedicure) and gives you several options to pay. I will 100% be coming back here! read more

No response still by Thursday night so I decided to email them and I get a response by text saying 10am booking when I asked for 4:30 pm. I text back and it's been 24 hours no response. Well I guess they don't want my business. I found another nail place and called them at 9pm thinking to leave a message and booked in 5 minutes what I needed. Not coming back here.

Upon leaving I thought it was different than i had done it before and maybe just needed to adjust. Idk. On further reflection she must have switched the products or burned them somehow. Half my eyelashes were kinked. Yes i followed aftercare perfectly. Then my eyelashes fell out and at some point were itchy and my lid was swollen. I'm not post photos but have them, and she has seen them. My eyebrows also were like hard and wouldn't move. Later they started falling out too. She gave me a full refund when I send her pics. But this is before everything started falling out. I had to buy a lash serum to grow them back. And then in August I started noticing that my eyebrows were falling out. I thought they were shedding normally and going back to blonde. NOPE! They weren't growing back at all. I went to the dr and it is 100% because of what she did. I now am using rogaine to regrow them. It's taking forever and she also refused to pay for product to help grown them back. It's probably going to be another 2-3 months of me looking awful because of Perri. Have the Holiday you deserve.

However, my last visit left me a little disappointed because while it was extremely relaxing and the service was great, I'm not so happy with how my actual nails turned out :-( I did the Volcano Spa service for both my pedicure and manicure which were absolutely lovely, along with gel remove and gel on both my fingers and toes. The 10 minutes of massage for both were so nice, especially the shoulders and upper back that came with the manicure. But during the gel remove, the gel on my fingers was removed with the drill. It was the same on my toes but I don't have an issue there. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my natural fingernails were drilled down so thin that even though I cut my nails short, they're ripping at the ends with normal daily wear and tear. I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength. UPDATE 8/4 9:48PM: Another nail ripped pretty far down just from scratching my head :-(

A very tasteful, custom design for an 11 y.o. They lasted almost 4 weeks but finally time to take them off. We made an appt for 2:30 today and due to Jenny not getting the message we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Not the biggest deal, really nice out and our favorite boba spot just a few blocks down Polk St. When we got back the other woman in the shop started taking off the gels, they were taking a while to saturate enough to fully remove so the cotton with acetone and foil had to stay on longer. My daughter's fingers started burning and when we let them know, Jenny prompted the other woman to take a look. Not ready yet so while the owner was finishing up with another client this other woman needed to take care of it. At one point a customer had to ask this other woman to help my daughter, that she would kindly wait. It took over an hour to remove and clean up her nails, no manicure after. Two hours later my daughter's poor fingers are still burning. Jenny was quite apologetic and adjusted the price as a courtesy. We love Jenny but maybe she needs some more support in her shop.

New Age Nails welcomes you to believe you are being treated nicely and your nails are getting their best services. NOOOOO its the complete opposite! I was having a bad day and came in wanting to be relaxed. But these lady wouldnt shut up! They kept talking and asking me questions. And because this place is small, it felt crammed and uncomfortable. The thing that pissed me off the most was that this is a typical asian place that has their employees who talk shit about you in their own language. I am vietnamese and understood everything they said! They were disrespectful and RUDE! Because its in north beach, i would assume most of their customers are white, but when you get an person that understands what you say, OOH HELL NOOO.! Never coming back here again.. I got so darn sick of looking at my nails recently, so I logged on to Yelp to get a recommendation. I looked at the menu at New Age Nails and the choices were outstanding. I love the smell of roses, so I picked the rose pedicure. It proved to be a perfect choice. Well, for starters, I was lucky enough to have Debbie as my nail tech. I received the absolute best pedicure of my life. She works so hard and is so detail minded, it is really nice to know there are still people out there that really care, and aren't just going though the motions. My feet have NEVER looked so good. First, Debbie is a great nail tech, and secondly, the salon has spared no expense when it comes to quality products and attention to detail and not just supplying products to her employees to "just" get the job done... I came in for a manicure and pedicure and my experience was not good. The manicure was just okay, but they didn't use warm water to soften the cuticles, which made the process uncomfortable. The pedicure was disappointing -- they did not trim my nails and the service felt rushed, with very little care or attention. They also put a fan on me without asking, and when it was time to pay, they charged me $80 even though the price list said $60. They did not give me a clear explanation for the price change, and I honestly felt overcharged. For the quality of the service and the cost, I would not recommend this place and I will not be returning. read more

I drive across town for their mani-pedis. You won't find a better pedicure anywhere. And everyone is so nice! Good to go on weekday mornings since it gets busy in the afternoons and on weekends... because all the locals know this is the best place around! Also E-Z meter parking on week day mornings...
