A relaxed, no fuss, welcoming vibe was set from the moment we walked in the door. My husband and I had a 90 minute massage. Our massage therapists were Eugene and Hector. At the end of the session we both agreed these were the best massages we've ever had. My husband is a big guy and usually feels like his massages are never intense enough but Eugene showed him how it's done. He said it was magic. Hector obliterated my shoulder and neck tension and was a pure joy throughout the session. Both Eugene and Hector were top notch in skill and personality.

I thought that shared connection, along with our interest in skincare and beauty, would make it a welcoming environment. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. During my time there, Gail made comments about my weight, including calling me fat and telling me to "fix my diet." She also made comments about my glasses and told me that I couldn't be an esthetician because I wore them. Made comments on my mental health and as well She told me she would always be smarter than me, told me she never liked me, and said that she had only given me a chance because her daughter liked me and that she eventually realized it was a mistake. I was also told that I could probably find somewhere else to work. What was especially upsetting was having my depression commented on in the workplace as well. Saying that I had depression because I had gut problems . Gail doesn't know anything what I've been through. These were not comments I expected to hear from someone who was supposed to be in a position to mentor and help a newly graduated esthetician grow. I came into this job excited, motivated, and ready to learn. I was a new graduate looking for an opportunity to build my skills and begin the career I had worked hard for. Instead, I left feeling belittled and discouraged. I realize this review is several years after my experience, and I can't speak to what the workplace is like today. I can only speak honestly about what I experienced in 2022. I see the positive reviews from clients, and I'm glad people have had good experiences receiving services there. My experience as an employee, however, was not positive, and I feel it is important to share that perspective as well.Because they are promoting they want to help better clients skin but can't respect someone trying to also get educated and grow to also help everyone as well as she made her employees try and become vegan .

I chose Sand Lake Dermatology Center after a negative experience with another clinic. The reviews…read moreare great so I felt like this would be a good choice and so far after two appointments, I really like this clinic and Dr Mailer. Before coming to Sand Lake Dermatology I had a biopsy at another clinic and was scheduled to have a carcinoma removed. I was unable to have this done at the other clinic so I booked the first appt available with Sand Lake Dermatology which was set for the end of July. Once I was able to get my records sent to the clinics, a staff member called me right away and moved my appointment to have a carcinoma removed from my face to last week. Because of the interactions I had over the phone and online with this clinic, I felt comfortable having this clinic remove the carcinoma even though I had not even seen the clinic nor doctor. While I was mildly aware of what the procedure entailed, the staff that prepared me answering questions and numbing me(Marisol and Aaron) were great and made me feel comfortable. Dr Mailer was just as nice and made me feel comfortable. I was of course aware of the dr performing the procedure, I couldn't see it and didn't feel it. The procedure is called Moh's procedure where they typically cut away the determined margin around the affected area, bandage you up and let the patient wait in the lobby while the removed specimen is being reviewed in the onsite lab. If the lab determines that not enough was removed to show clear margins, the patient is brought back in and the dr removes more repeating the process until margins are clear. In my case, the dr removed all that needed to be removed leaving clear margins so after the lab results returned after a couple of hours, I was brought back into the procedure room and the dr proceeded to stitch up my wound applying dissolving stitched under the skin and removable stitches outside. My appointment for follow up and outer stitches removal was set for one week later( this past Tuesday). I was prescribed a heavy antibiotic and advised to keep Vaseline on the stitched up area and keep it covered with a bandage that is changed daily. Once I was stitched up, I mentioned a growth I have noticed on my eyelid and the dr suggested that on my follow up appointment she would take a biopsy. So this past Tuesday I had stitches removed, the area where I had stitches seems to be healing well and it doesn't appear that there will be a heavy scar. I am happy to see this as the area that was removed was quite large and the area stitched was quite long. The nurse, Natalie numbed my face, the stitches were removed and I didn't feel anything. They also numbed my eyelid so the biopsy could be taken. This is a sensitive area so this was a bit more intense but it went quickly and the biopsy was done. I will likely have results next week. What could have been a high anxiety first procedures (I've never had any surgery or stitches) turned out to be a pretty smooth experience. I recommend consideration of Sand Lake Dermatology as the staff and Dr Mailer were great, the waiting room is comfortable and even the staff that manages scheduling, check in, check out, nurses, physicians assistants all made me feel important, individual and taken care of. I wish all medical experiences could be similar to what I experienced.

I booked the Allora Signature package and spent the entire day relaxing and enjoying every service. Next time in town, I will definitely book another Allora spa day. The only change that would have made my experience better is if I did not have to leave the room. Between services, you exit the room and sit in a chair located in a small hallway until the next service. It would've been better and more relaxing, as the client, to stay in the room for all services. Understandably, the spa is small and they do their best to ensure comfort despite the necessary merry go round. This is NOT a deterrent from returning by any means but it did catch me off guard. Gratuity is added and given to an each team member. My appointment was scheduled over the phone which allowed me to customize a service included in the package. A deposit is required at booking and the remaining balance after appointment.

They ask you to arrive 20 minutes early, but there's no reason to: no tour, no walkthrough of the services, no robe, no changing room offered, no one even pointed out the restroom. I was handed a drink and told to "go down the hall, take a right" to the tea room. No escort at a supposed luxury spa. My 90-minute massage started 5 minutes late and ended 13 minutes early. I paid for 90 minutes and received 72. Back in the tea room, another guest's child was playing in the candy, the fountain, and the drinking water while I waited another 10 minutes past my scheduled time. The facial was not the anti-aging facial described just basic rubbing and dermaplaning, delivered after I could hear staff gossiping in the lobby. The "hand and foot treatment" was a dry rub with exfoliation gloves before strapping on lotion-filled gloves and booties. The scalp massage was so perfunctory I asked the technician to stop and end the service early. It felt like they were padding out the clock to make up for time shaved off everything else. Think Massage Envy at triple+ the price. If you're considering the top-tier package here, don't. There is nothing signature or luxury about it.
