Recently had an issue with our 2025 Chevy Blazer. I called Monday and spoke to a Service manager. He said bring it in that day, I was planning to only setup an appointment. Instead they gave me a ride to my dental appointment and came ans picked me up. Then they said they would look at the vehicle Tuesday. Then they gave me a 2026 Traverse to drive. It was a 2 day repair but Tuesday afternoon they called and said if was done! This is the best service I have ever experienced! Great job Mark G. and the techs that worked on it. We had an appointment for last Saturday to test drive a vehicle because we live 3 hours away. We found out on Wednesday that the vehicle was sold out from under us. We found a better used vehicle less miles and cheaper than what Makato Motors wanted and was only 45 minutes from our house. We will never deal with this business again. read more

They are a "one price" dealership - no haggling. Any available money is already taken off the price of a car (I heard a salesman explaining that their research showed 2/3 of car customers hate the haggle anyway) In terms of new car, the mark up is only like a couple hundred bucks, the money is in used cars, anyway. The salespeople at the dealership, because it's a one price dealership, don't work on commission. I was looking at buying a car between here and one and the cities, and went here. The salesman, Cary Rentsler (spelled it wrong, but like it sounds), was super nice - he gave me his personal cell number and has answered questions and been there for me even after I bought my car (I bought a new car they'd only sold a few of) The owner/manager of the dealer even gave me his card the night I bought my car and said if I had any problems, to let them know. Always super helpful, they are all super nice, and they go out of their way to help me. I love this dealership and would recommend them to anyone buying a car. read more

I recently purchased a used Equinox from Gary M. at Mankato Motors Chevrolet, and although I don't have many comparisons to make since we do not trade/purchase vehicles often, it was a MOST ENJOYABLE experience and purchase. I subsequently had a very minor mechanical issue and they handled it in a very FAIR manner. I will not hesitate to return whenever I'm in the market again for a used vehicle. I was rear ended and needed a new back door and bumper. First person that helped me seemed good but then after weeks of no update as to when I could bring my car in, I email and find out that the person I worked with had quit and they could not find the check that I had handed to them from the insurance co. The first person I met there did a visual assessment and took pics that she then sent to the person who hit me's insurance company. After that I received a check that I brought into Mankato Motors and handed to them in person. Then I heard nothing for a month. I finally called in only to find out that person in the body shop was no longer there, that they had none of my information and could not find the check I had given them from the insurance company! I had to send all my email communications with the 1st body shop person to the new body shop person. Then I had to also resend all the the pictures that Mankato body shop took to the insurance company. Thank goodness I had them emailed to me and I had saved everything. Mankato motors then was able to communicate with the insurance company with that information and found out that the check was not checked so they put a stop on it. Then they had to reissue a check to the body shop. I finally brought my car in and it was repaired and I picked it up. When I picked it up there were many issues that I found unacceptable. Along with black primer paint sprayed all along the sides of my vehicle, (very visual and felt like sandpaper) there were scratch marks on the back door, a small dent on the "new" back door, and some damage to my driver side entry track paint, along with the interior windows being all filthy. I went back inside and told them. They set up a time the next day for me to come in and meet with the "shop foreman". I came in after work the next day (I do not live in Mankato, so an out of my way drive) and that is when the body shop person went on her computer, laughed out loud and said "oh I forgot the shop foreman left early today for a dentist appointment". I was not happy! Not only at her thinking that was funny, but also that I do not live in Mankato so drove there for nothing. This is when I met another new person in the body shop who agreed to review my car, and agreed with all my assessments. We both thought possible that the new door had been primed on the vehicle! In order for me to be able to leave my car for repairs to what they had now done, I needed a loaner so I had to wait for him to call me and let me know to bring my car back in for it to be fixed, that took another week. I brought my car in and it was repaired within a day. When I picked up the vehicle the paint was now looking beautiful as it was when I dropped it off. Apparently they had to do a good buffing on it to get that black stuff off. However, when I got home, I emailed them and told them that I believed that their shop staff needed to be way more detail oriented before handing off to a customer! Doing the final pickup, my inside new back window was still filthy, my back wiper now makes noise when it never did on the old door. There was a muddy boot print on the inside track of one of my side/back doors, and there is even more damage (scratch marks) to the initial spots I found the first time on my driver door inside track, two of the caps for my tire air spouts were missing, and as I drove away I got a warning that my back door was open! I emailed all this to the body shop mgr. when I got home. He never replied to me, but instead had the woman that I complained about email me back! Claimed he was "tied up with multiple sick employees". She apologized and did offer to make the "experience" better for me. At this point I have been there 3 times and never intend to return, too afraid more damage would be inflicted on my vehicle! She had also said " I think I explained that most of our department is very new so they definately have things to learn, but definatly not making excuses, we are working very hard to get our department back in shape after the unfortunate events that transpired." Sounds like total excuses to me, and she is one of the "new" employees. I mean at least learn how to use auto correct if you are going to be put in charge of replying to customers! Found the entire experience totally unacceptable, with bad communication, and absolutely no attention to detail at all. Do not recommend! read more

Poor customer service. Scheduled tire rotation two weeks in advance only to be told at appt time first come first serve. Would need to wait hour before getting in. Wife had all the kids so very inconvenient. Previously scheduled to look at issue with horn and wipers. Told them likely a relay as wipers work after long delay. They called me later said need new wiper motor and horn. Cost will be nearly $800. Told them I will pick up car paid $75 for them to look at it and my wipers continue to work. Mentioned my issues with their service and they offered me a $5 coupon. Will not go back to this dealer. For anything. Gave them a chance with new tires and buying the car new there. Poorest service each time I tried. read more

My daughters car stalled out next to Mankato Motors. She had it towed there since it was next to where her car stalled and she is new to the city. They tried to scam her and charge her $400 to replace 4 spark plugs and the spark plug wires on a 1999 Saturn SL1. Unbelieveable! The spark plugs are easily accessible. This is a 20 minute job and parts are less than $50. It's terrible that they would try to take advantage of a young girl that knows nothing about cars. Karma will get you Mankato Motors! I had agreed in principle to a deal on a truck I found on their website. That was Wednesday evening. Thursday morning I was to travel almost 2 hours for purchase the truck. I text my salesman to inform him I was on my way. The salesman did do me the courtesy to texting back to inform me that They had sold the truck. I have dealt with a lot of dealers in my days, selling a vehicle out from under someone is a low class way to do business. I guess if you are from out of town, either plan to travel right away, or forget it because the vehicle will be sold in the meantime. read more

It's hard to rate because I do like Mankato motors and would absolutely go back I would absolutely NOT EVER deal with renee again the older woman who works there.... here's my story... my husband and I were searching for a new suv and he really liked the Tahoe's and there was a 2020 there but wanted to wait for a 2021 ... unfortunately renee was dealing with us and I was not impressed at all with her LACK of knowledge on the truck. She kept going back to get information from the guys that work there and yes I mean men not woman. Anyways my husband mentioned he wanted a 2021 and would like to wait and she said "oh we won't get any of those in for a long time they are way on back order" ok she blamed covid and we took the 2020... well guess what a week later they had a 2021 black high country that was CHEAPER then the one we bought... hence also renee lied and said they would be way more money too... sooo do I like mankato motors YES!!! Go buy from them but STAY AWAY FROM renee she is says what she has to to sell a vehicle regardless she doesn't know anything about the vehicles at all and her voice is extremely annoying!!!!!! Think twice before bringing your vehicle here for service. I brought my vehicle in to get the rear brakes fixed. After paying nearly $500 I got the car back. My wife drove it for the next two months and then commented that the brakes were making noise. When I checked out the vehicle I realized that they had not properly lubricated the brakes, they had not bled the brake lines so the pedal could be pushed almost to the floor before engaging, and the calipers were so dirty that the pads were only engaging on a very small spot. The car was downright dangerous to drive. They told me I was lucky they were going to make it right because most places would have charged me. They also told me that I was lucky that I nothing serious happened. No apologies were offered and the manager was demeaning and kept trying to put the blame on me. He said that he stood behind the work of his shop. They put my wife's life in danger because they didn't do a complete job. They told me it was my fault that I didn't get the car in sooner when I noticed a problem. (My wife is car illiterate in the first place and she only drove it about once a week; I didn't know about the problem until 2 months after we got the car back). They were in the wrong for returning my car to me in a dangerous condition. Beyond this, they used crappy after market rotors which don't look anything like the front, are completely rusted and look nothing like the factory versions. When I picked up my car it was sitting unlocked in their lot and had been that way for a few days while I was out of town. I'm very disappointed and recommend seeking help elsewhere. read more
