I absolutely love this local EASTSIDE gem! My favorite thing about the Mutt is all the locals and regulars. We visit very often! The owners, bar tenders , kitchen staff and all workers are the best!!! This establishment is a true team effort! The Mutt has occasional food specials that are always made in house and fresh.. when they gone, they gone. Some of our favorites are Mike's freshly made chilli and his homemade coney sauce for hotdogs. The bar top seats at least 30!! This Pizza was just what wE expected it would be, delicious! We love thin crust and this was perfect. The next time we come here we will hold the extra cheese. They give you plenty. A 16" was way too big for two of us but we took it home. We will be coming back for Pizza again! Yummy Today our Residents wanted Tenderloin Sandwiches. The Mutt did not fail! Everyone was pleased with their order. Our waitress was epic! She got every order correct. Service was excellent. We had wheelchairs and they went out of their way to help us. We met some friends here as it was a convenient place for us since we were coming from opposite sides of town. When we arrived, we noticed there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. When we went in it reminded me of my old Catholic school lunchroom, Just with a bar. It looked like it could have been a really amazing place. Rustic run of the mill joint. All the tables were lined up and just a few high tops in the corner that we quickly nabbed. There was some sort of function going on as it seemed everyone knew each other and were mingling. We waited a few minutes but no one came to wait on us. So my husband just wend to the bar and fetched us basic drinks. Our friends arrived shortly after and same thing--they had to fetch their drinks. We assumed that was the norm until we caught a glance of two servers waiting on others. We were neither greeted, waited on or given menus. Thus, the three stars. We were there about two hours. I would like to return when it's not so busy to see if a fun time could be had and perhaps some food. read more

Went here for a team-building lunch. It was really crowded for a Thursday afternoon, there was a rather large party. Parking lot is a bit sketchy, lots of potholes and not quite enough marked spaces. By the time I arrived I parked in the cuts where people were making their own spaces. Because it was so crowded we didn't get our food for an hour, thank goodness we had ordered appetizers beforehand so those were served about 15 minutes of arrival. This place is... probably just for drunk people to eat. The food is not so good. I ended up at Manley's for a retirement kind of party for an old co-worker because it was close to the office. The place was packed to the gills on a Friday at 5:00 PM so I hide hopes for this place. Not high hopes, but hope. Turns out there was a radio station in giving away prizes and such. Okay, cool I guess that's why the place is so packed. I get to the table and throughout the course of the night I get cheese sticks, bread sticks and their "famous" Irish Stew. Keep in mind I'm driving so just Diet soda for me, not drunk enough to enjoy the food? The cheese sticks taste frozen, the bread sticks were okay enough, but the $8 a bowl Irish Stew was gross. First, it tasted like it had set in a crock pot way too long. Second, the meat was so fatty I had like maybe two small pieces of edible meat that I could taste. Third, the potatoes weren't edible due to the old cooked taste. Like, did I get yesterdays stew or maybe last week? Also, this is served with a plain toasted piece of white bread. It just was not very appetizing. The customer service here is not great either. Maybe they didn't have enough staff that night or something but I had to go find the waitress like 6 times. I had high hopes for a nice little lunch with my foodie group on St. Patrick's Day, but alas... one big huge disappointment. No wait staff, no regular menu items available only 5 or 6 items on the so-called special menu with only 2 or 3 semi-Irish options. A little table was set up in the back of the bar where you had to go to order and hang out till you got your stuff... Sheppard's Pie, you think meaty base, mashed potatoes with bubbling cheese on top... not so... Instead we received a paper basket with some soupy gravy with a few morsels of bland ground beef, a lonely pea here and there and a few onions, topped with a thin spread of what we assumed were potatoes and that topped with some finely shredded cheese... no flavor, no melted cheese and not even an inch deep... wow... Tried the pulled pork supposedly made with Irish stout... hmmm, for one it was cold. The pork was dry even so it was doused in some horribly sweet BBQ sauce. A spoonful of coleslaw on top didn't improve the situation. The only friendly person was the bar tender, the rest of the staff just tried their best to ignore us completely... they were successful in their endeavor. Now we were told that their website stated this is a cash only business... we double checked and saw no such notice. It also would have been nice to have some prior notice that you won't be serving actual food, not even for lunch. I mean I can understand the evening special event party for St. Patrick's Day and once drunk I might have eaten this mess, but for lunch? Not impressed... read more

Manley's bar fare is what you've been waiting for. While for years it was a mystery where the bf would bring Shepherd's Pie home from, I recently learned the secret. Manley's Shepherd's Pie isn't anything fancy, but it sure is delicious -- a layer of seasoned ground beef and veggies, topped with mashed potatoes & cheese, served with buttered bread?! Count me in forever. I've since tried other menu items, included most recently the pretzels with beer cheese and the BLT salad with grilled chicken. The Northside Wrap, Patty Melt, and Irish Nachos are also worth an order. I appreciated that I could call/ order ahead for carry out (also can do so online) and that social distancing and mask wearing was enforced, with hand sanitizer available. Came here for dinner and a few drinks with my fiancé and really enjoyed myself. I wouldn't consider this place divey really, it was a very wide open place with a decent sized bar and lots of seating. The menu had quite a few options, your general Irish fare plus some other cool choices like Thai shrimp tacos. The specials were nice and will certainly save you some money if you're wanting to partake in any alcoholic beverages. I will say the highlight of my visit was the Irish nachos appetizer. If you're wanting an appetizer I would highly recommend this one. It's big enough for two to split and leave both parties feeling pretty full, I couldn't even finish my meal. Best breaded pork tenderloin in the city, hands down. I'm also a fan of anywhere that you can get house chips. I mean, I'll take fresh potato chips over french fries any day of the week. Especially if there's something to dip them in. Anyway, that pork tenderloin! It was tender, thick, and had a great crust that didn't fall off. My friend and I both ordered one and, after one bite, looked at each other to share the moment. Crowd is definitely regular locals, but we weren't made to feel out of place. Such a fun dive bar! Walking in I was really excited. It had varying ages of customers, which made it even better. There's tons of space, with booth, table or bar seating. There's also a stage in the corner. Also great service! I got a Long Island, on special for $5! It wasn't watered down at all. It was super strong! I split the Irish nacho appetizer with my fiancé and we loved it! They were so good! It was about $8 for the app, kinda pricier than I hoped. But they were definitely worth it! I moved to the East Side in January of 2019, and quickly got introduced to the Mutt. I have only gone in the evenings and I must say, if you are just looking for a chill spot to grab a beer and some food while watching a game or hanging out with friends this is a great place to do so! I love their wings. Forget your chain wing restaurant, and come here. If you come on an evening chances are the place will be busy and loud, just roll with it. I am a sucker for dive bars and I have heard this one mentioned many times while listening to JMV on 1070. We decided to make this the next stop for the Indy Wing Club. Before we discuss the flavors I need to point out these wings are huge and cooked perfectly, the quality of wings they use is top notch. They have a good variety of sauces to choose from, but we ultimately decided on Garlic Parmesan, Sweet Chili, and Dry Rub. The Garlic Parmesan wings tasted were are second favorite, they were garlicky and buttery, but also had a twang similar to Italian dressing. The Dry Rub were our third favorite, they were good, but ultimately they needed a thicker coating of rub. Many of the wings were sparsely coated and that lead to us deciding we would not order them again more than likely. The sweet chili were the best flavor by far. They were sweet up front with a spicy kick at the end that reminded me of a slightly spicy general tso's sauce, the sauce was slightly thicker than the other sauces coated the wings nicely. If I go again I will definitely get the Sweet Chili wings. The staff was courteous and again the wings were giant and cooked perfectly, I highly recommend stopping by the Mutt and trying them for yourself. Happy Yelping! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The Thai Shrimp Tacos were outstanding. Their beer selection was great and I got to try a peanut butter whiskey that knock my socks off! My wife enjoyed her salad and the couple we went with enjoyed the wings and breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. The atmosphere was electric with TVs broadcasting sports. I'll premise this 3 star rating with the fact that a 3 to me means that it was either average, or good in some areas and not great in others, or there were many things that I did not try (food or drinks), or it was maybe an off-peak night. I say this so that you know I will possibly give this restaurant another chance and a future review well happen then. But the night when I walked in, the ugly lights were on (you know, the bar lights that get turned on at last call that NO ONE looks good in?), and the bar seating area had room for my friends and I, but the rest of the place was empty. There was hockey on the t.v.'s and we played music on the juke-box system (the kind that had an app that you can download). It was a very cool and empty feeling place, but the friendly young lady bartending aimed to please, quick on filling drinks with a smile on her face. She was a saving Grace. So, her service and having no competition in choosing the music selection were probably the pros for me on my first try here, but as I've read my fellow Yelpers, I see it may have much more to offer. I wouldn't recommend this bar to anyone. Honestly had such a terrible experience here today with my family. Our waitress,Nancy, had such a horrible attitude and was incredibly rude to all of us. She was so impatient. Additionally the service wasn't great at all. They were out of so many things, from fries to lemonade to barbecue. The service was so slow. Very good east side choice! Food is average to above average. Prices are more than fair! Drinks are cheap! Atmosphere IS divey. Don't propose to your girlfriend here, or come here on your anniversary! That being said, they are real and recognize you after a couple times! I love the pizza. Burgers are 1/2 pound and you can add another 1/2 pound patty for $2, making it a full pound. Seasoning is good! Lots of side choices, including things of you are low carb.
