My family & I were disappointed when we found out that Aunt Emma's was full and the line was so long. We left and drove South Broadway heading to Ihop on Oxford. The traffic lights on F turned red so we stopped and read a sign that says Pancakes. We were like, ok let's try this place and if we don't like it, we're not going back. The place was small and not that fancy but the service was very good. The servers and even the owners were nice and friendly. Surprised to find that their food comes in big servings. There are no lines, no waiting and the price --- affordable. This is our new favorite place to go to for breakfast. I highly recommend! read more

Another all you can eat korean bbq spot. Same as Jeong Won except it's not buffet style. They serve you the meat...A LOT of meat. Didn't know this but you can tell them not to pile on so much the first time. So make sure you tell the ladies that. Other wise you're gonna have a short stay and won't be able to try all the meats. You've got 2 choices, $20 or $25. The difference is that the $25 has more selections (seafood and a few other cuts the $20 one does not). Parking is a little tricky. Make sure you turn right at the light in front of the restaurant. You can park on the side or you can go around to the back. Come here starving and you'll leave FULL. read more

The odd combo of chinese food and traditional breakfast made me hesitant to try out Manna Restuarant. The inside was also kind of bizarre, with traditional cafe booths you would find in a cafe and then photos of the menu items like Chinese places have. Clean, friendly, and fast service! We came here yesterday with my two kids(1 and 2 yrs old). They let me sub out the hash for rice bc my kids love rice for breakfast. We ordered the round up $9.99. No idea how this place has good reviews. Got the steak and eggs and the steak was among the worst I've ever had. Cooked to death, tasteless, leather like. I'm doubtful it was real meat. It was oddly shaped and tasted horrible. The toast had a very small dollop of clarified butter-like product brushed on the middle. The hash browns were tasteless and likely from a box. This place was horrible. The bathroom was falling apart, dirty and neglected. The service was non existent. It was disastrous overall. I left the plate at the edge of the table waiting for the only waitress for 10 tables to come ask how things were, or the lazy owner to get out from behind and see why there was an uneaten piece of crap on my plate. Neither happened. The owner finally snuck up behind me and took my plate. Behind the counter in full view he cut the "steak" and proceeded to chew out the "cook" for serving that leathery piece of fecal matter to a customer. Convinced he was ashamed of the meal, I proceeded to the counter to pay the bill for my wife's mediocre meal. To my amazement, the owner still expected me to pay for the stool and eggs breakfast! I argued, he mocked me and laughed at me and he still would not take the expulsion and eggs off my bill. Restauranteurs are concerned about 4 things... Food Facilities Friends (customers and staff) and Finances. Take care of the first three and the 4th takes care of itself. Neglect the first three in varying amounts and the 4th will suffer. Which inevitably leads one to focus only on the dollar by cutting staff and/or their pay, cutting Costs ( by serving meat glue and fecal matter) ignoring the building as it disintegrates around you so that you can try to make a buck. We were on our way to the Mexican border and wanted to grab some breakfast. We can here based on Yelp reviews and were glad to come here. When we walked in the waitress told us she has never seen us before and asked if this was our first time. Always a good sign when most of their business is based in regulars. Breakfast here was good. We had pork chops, omelet plus the kid's breakfast combo. Everything tasted simple and delicious. The hash browns were good, not too greasy like some (most) places. Prices are very reasonable. My pork chop combo was $10, most places would have it at $12+. The kid's combo was $3.50 for a pancake, sausage, and eggs. No frills just like everyone else says but we like simple so this is definitely our new breakfast spot from now on. Total surprise! On our little trip to San Diego over Valentine's Day weekend this was a real unexpected pleasure. We ordered your basic breakfast fare, scrambled eggs, pancakes and sausage patties. Everything was really excellent! Much more than expected especially since we hesitated to even go all the way in when we first stepped inside. It definitely is a dive, but a winner for those like us who like to try new things and out of the way places. The waitress was very sweet and attentive. Yum. The value, food and service are great! Thank you fellow yelpers. I was in Chula Vista and needed a breakfast place for my mom and I. This place had 4.5 stars and was close so we went. I pulled into the strip mall and saw the pancake house/fast food Chinese and started to worry. But...we were here so there you go. My mom got the hot chocolate (made with real Redi-Whip cream) and I got the apple juice (nice size glass and tasty - not watered down). The omelets were decent made with real bacon and veggies etc. but where my meal shined was the hashbrowns. They were PERFECT. Real shredded potatoes, in a thin layer fried crisp but not burnt and just delicious, delicious, delicious. The service is fantastic and I had a great experience that made me glad we walked in the door. read more

Good food for cheap. Not a lot of annoying people with their entire family waiting to be seated which is a HUGE plus for me. You'd be amazed at how many places are unable to prepare something as basic as eggs/hash browns but this place did it just fine. The pancakes were buttery and soft (I prefer my pancakes plain). And shame on the people calling this place sketchy. Unless YOU live in a posh area, this is a regular working class neighborhood. I've been here twice and each time the food was quick to come and delicious. I've had omelettes which are very good size, pancakes are really good- kids love them. Last time I had the chilaquiles which were really yummy. I appreciate that they allow you to sub things out. I don't eat meat so I can just trade it for hash browns or home fries. Don't be scared of the place being multicultural. They do everything right! I had French toast, eggs over easy and grilled (!!!) sausage. Yum! Kevin had some amazing wonton soup and pork chorizo with the best corn tortillas we've ever had. Love this place! read more
