Combo B with Kung Pao Chicken and comes with 2 egg rolls - food was good and great value!
    Vivian H.

Kind of odd to find me in this place however when I drove by it really peaked my curiosity as it was advertising Chinese food and pancakes, so since I am quite the curious cat, I found myself here about an hour before they closed. The restaurant itself is barebones but clean and when I came in, I was the only customer ordering so I was a little nervous. I also dont regularly eat American Chinese food as I dont really have a tastebud for it and didnt grow up eating it. With that said, I ordered the combo B special and had Kung Pao Chicken. The woman taking my order was Korean and asked if I was Korean. I get Korean a lot as part of my family is originally from northern China. She was a very sweet and polite person so I didnt take any offense. After I ordered, two other people came in here and ordered the same combo B, seems its popular. I waited for my order, used their bathroom, which required a key (very clean bathroom) and then my order was ready. I was a bit skeptical about the food, however, after taking my first bite, it was delicious, even if it was a bit of a greasespoon! Service was great, food was good and at $12 dish, I really can't complain and portion size was good for 2 meals. I'd definitely return again and will give their breakfast try next time!

Yet another wonderful meal at Manna Restaurant today. Both Lupita and Angie shared the duty of serving me . Both were kind patient friendly and attentive with me. Patient because I was unsure as to whether I wanted breakfast or lunch today, given I stopped in a bit latter than I usually do for breakfast. I decided on Mama's Omelette. This proved to be a great choice It was well prepared and, I might add quite delicious. It's a step better than a Denver Omelette. You might say say a Super Denver Omelette. I ended up choosing breakfast over lunch because they don't serve their Chinese menu on Sunday, a fact I never knew, realized , or thought of in the quarter century since our friend Wanda Tribble introduced my Wife and I to Manna as a nice place for lunch after the Morning Service on Sundays. Now I want to reccomend Manna Restaurant to you. Whether you want Breakfast,Lunch Dinner, Chinese, or Mexican Manna is sure to please. Stop in and tell Sam Lupita or Angie that George sent you. Thanks for reading. I'm surprised the ambiance wasn't checked, as the great food and service were part of the charm of this beloved Chula Vista eatery.

The food was great traditional American breakfast for a decent price! Service was also great and quick and food came out pretty quick! It really is a hole in the wall worth going to. Definitely going back to try different plates.

I really like this place. The prices were affordable, the staff was friendly, and the food was good simple American/ Mexican breakfast. I loved the sausage patties. I also took some fried garlic wings to go. They were also delicious. I only gave 3 stars because of the location and restrooms were neglected.

A good place for a home cooked breakfast. I got here at 9 am on a Wednesday and it was kind of busy. I sat myself and the waitress was over to me in less than a minute. Super friendly and attentive. I was worried my food would be forgotten about or ordered wrong or slow. Everything came out in time and perfect. The food was pretty tasty. Food: I ordered the corned beef breakfast with hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. I always have to try the B and G! The eggs were perfect, the biscuits were perfect size, nice and thin. Usually the biscuits are huge. The gravy was ok. Kind of plain not bad or great just good. The corned beef was ok. I am not a fan of the little chunks of potatoes in the corned beef. I like the just beef style. Personal preference. Hash browns were good. Mixed all together with a little ketchup and tapatio and it was a good meal. Reasonably priced. This place is good, home cooked food.

The Horchata Latté tasted like semi-sweet milk and the Caramel Latté was just okay, I would appreciate a more coffee-forward drink but I'm unsure if they use espresso in their drinks (or maybe they're single shots?). I had high hopes for these drinks since they are new additions (I thought maybe this restaurant stepped up their coffee game) but I would have preferred sticking with their Mexican Mocha, which although is still not very coffee forward is nonetheless a delicious drink. The pictures I've included show some of my favorite meals here. The Poblano Chilaquilles are a 10/10 and a staple for whenever I visit with family or friends. It's very savory and goes perfectly with over-medium eggs. If you prefer spicier Chilaquilles, this is not for you (these are savory without a hint of spice!). The Cali Omelette is all you could want from an omelette and HUGE! Unfortunately the sourdough bread was stale this visit. Potatoes are seasoned well and complements the meal. The Dulce De Leche French Toast is perfect for sharing and for those with a sweet tooth. It was the perfect finish to my party's meal. The Farmers Table gets a 10/10 for ambiance, but the service has generally been lacking for the 5-8 visits I've made. I feel as if the servers are not very attentive and I find myself waiting for the check or even to be checked on to see if my experience is going well. I actually would have loved to comment on the lattes I ordered (which again, were disappointing). The food is always great though, and despite the lacking service (which I've observed is likely due to the large amount of guests vs the couple of servers on duty attending to everyone), I always find myself coming back for more! Essentially, PLEASE order the Poblano Chilaquilles and PLEASE get your coffee elsewhere! I think a revamp on the coffee is much needed (much rather get my coffee and breakfast fix together!).

Parking shouldn't be an issue, they have spots in the front but then there's the big garage right behind it, and it's free. There's also street parking but you might have to pay. The place itself is very spacious and clean. They also have an outdoor patio for dogs. I do know later in the evening it gets louder and more like a club vibe, but it's not bad. Service was perfectly fine. I had no issues at all. Staff greeted us with a smile when we walked in. They were always checking up on us when we needed things. No issues at all. I thought everyone was doing their jobs. Happy hour is so worth it here. $1.99 tacos! I had the carne asada, birria and Chicharonnes tacos! While the meat portions look small, y'all need to realize this is happy hour street tacos! Adding some salsa from the self serve bar, it was so worth the price. We had 11 tacos, cheese nachos, 2 beers and 1 margarita and it was about $50! So worth it! I highly recommend Kalaveras for Mexican food. Great vibes. Great happy hour prices. I think this place is good for large groups also. It may not be kid friendly later into the night but it's very worth it!
