Went for a late night food crave on a Saturday night. Let me check out the shrimp Parmigiana it was tasty. Shrimp weren't very large, but you got six. The pizza was nicely crusted with a thin crust without us asking for it. So greedy, I forgot to take a picture. I have the linguine leftover as my take home. The place is cute. Stone walls, with chairs with the carved into the back of the chairs. The staff was very friendly. Great for a neighborhood local spot. read more

What a great surprise. We stopped on our way to Florida during an overnight in Princeton, and we tried find the best cheesesteak we could. We happen upon Mannino's, and by far it was amazing. Growing up in south Jersey it brought me back and reminded me of the most delicious childhood memories . We ordered the large , and they double checked just to make sure that was what we wanted it. Came in for slice and just wanted Sausage and onions, asked if they could just add on regular slice. Was told no... The price of this place is also off the roof...they are feeling themselves a little too much. Mannino's is a no-frills pizza joint in Hightstown. I used to order from here on occasion when I used to work in the area and remember the pizza was pretty good. However, it was very underwhelming on a recent take out visit. The pizza was light on cheese, and neither the cheese, nor the sauce registered well with regards to flavor/quality. The best part of the pizza was the crust, but the overall pie was otherwise an unmemorable disappointment. I hate to rate them as 3 stars, but you have to do better in a competitive central NJ pizza market. They do have an extensive menu which includes pasta & sandwiches, so will have to try those when in the area again, but I won't be rushing back to try their pizza. read more

There are plenty of options at the front counter and I decided to get a plain slice, Margherita slice, and a pasta slice. The slices at Mannino's 4 have a perfectly thin and crispy base that is a medium-brown color and has a good structure to hold up the toppings. The outer crust is crispy, with a fluffy, bready interior. The plain slice had a good cheese to sauce ratio with a pleasant, sweet-tasting sauce. The penne-vodka slice was decent and featured a good, creamy vodka sauce. The aesthetic was enhanced by some fresh herbs placed on top of the slice, though they didn't add much noticeable flavor. The big winner at Mannino's 4 is the Margherita slice. The base is perfectly crispy and thin. The sauce is rich and chunky with great flavor. The cheese is fresh, milky mozzarella that melts in your mouth. This is the slice I highly recommend if you are stopping in for a bite to eat. read more

The best pizza place in town. Buffalo chicken pizza is to die for. Buffalo sauce and blue cheese mixed into one creamy sauce, not super spicy. Godfather is also delicious--ham, fried chicken, vodka sauce, mozz. They have the best vodka sauce, so also recommend that entree. As a native Jersey girl, and now living elsewhere, it's always frustrating to have to ask for those at a pizzeria. And usually the wait staff says they have to see if they have any ( no comment on why the waitstaff would not think that a pizzeria would have those basic ingredients in an Italian kitchen). This place was definitely step up from Virginia pizza (which I've been used to for the the last 5 weeks) but not as good as the pizza from my home state of New York. Mannino's 4 is horrible. I feel like this is a place of yesteryears that is riding the coat tales of a once good reputation. It feels like they do not care about their restaurant or the quality of food that they are now dishing out. We ordered the chicken parm it was disgusting, the sauce was from a can, the chicken was old, and the bread it came with was frozen. We also ordered salad to share for our dine in dinner. The server came out with a salad on a styrofoam plate that had one cherry tomato on it. Who puts one cherry tomato on a salad. The service was horrible. The sit down tables were dirty. we went on a Thursday night, it appeared they had plenty of staff who could care less about working and more about hanging out being on their phones. The atmosphere sucked. Who wants to hear loud annoying music that has nothing to do with Italian dining. Calamari, was disgusting. It feels like they do not put love or care into what they are serving. Everything came out at once as if we ordered takeout or they just wanted to be done having to work as soon as possible....I want to like this place, I really do, but this is not the first disappointment from them in the last year. Since the pandemic, I have been trying to support local businesses in my area. I frequently order pizza from Planet Pizza however Mannino's is a new favorite. Their wings are the BEST around.
