Last night, we ventured into what I thought was a simple pizzeria, only to discover it was, in fact, a full-fledged restaurant--with ambitions far greater than its nearly empty dining room suggested. In a space occupied by exactly four diners (including us), we were promptly asked if we had a reservation. I almost apologized for not booking six weeks in advance for this exclusive, high-demand experience. Then came our server, who seemed to believe we were all running a construction site together. Every sentence was punctuated with "boss," to the point where I started wondering if I was about to get assigned a shift schedule. I half-expected him to hand me a clipboard and ask if I approved the latest inventory order. Despite the unexpected managerial responsibilities, the food was solid, and once the initial awkwardness faded, the service landed somewhere between "acceptable" and "I guess I'll allow it." When I got home and popped open the calamari, what one earth was that. Absolutely no breading or seasoning whatsoever. Just a regular pizza joint you can find anywhere in jersey. We were a large party. 10 of us. The place was near empty and yet they begrudgingly sat us down. The vibe was as if they didn't want to have a large party at their restaurant and that they didn't like having little children there as well. Either way, food was decent enough to return back. My second attempt to visit the restaurant I called a head to make reservations at this pizza joint. Who makes reservations at their local pizza joint? Ha! Exactly...Oddly enough though, the person whom answered the phone at the restaurant wanted to know the party size (12) and if we had children (5). After replying, we was told there were no reservations left for the night for my party. Little weird considering we were trying to have dinner at 5pm...but OK, a little strange, no problem. Since we legit live around the corner we happen to drive by the restaurant and saw that the place was near empty as we were going to another location for dinner. And as we were heading back home from our other location, the same thing! Their restaurant was near empty! After talking about this with other people, this establishment has not only done this to me, but other members of my family who attempted to eat there and other members of the community. It's a very bad look for a small local joint that isn't anything fancy. The way they handle covers you'd think their some fancy modern Italian joint in Princeton or NYC. It's comical. Its a local pizza joint! Not even brick oven for crying out loud. Ha! Either way, never going back there. These guys don't like money nor do they like to work. Pizza is hit or miss on flavor but has potential. Clean, nice interior for dining. There is an important part to a neighborhood restaurant that not many people see or talk about, and that is heart. Not only is the food and pizzas great here. The owners have heart. My family has started a foundation in honor of our little warrior who left us at the age of three from Leukemia. When my daughter when in to see if they would be willing to donate a gift card, they did not even hesitate for a split second the generosity and down right love they showed is only equaled by their great food. One of our fav places lately! Fell upon the place while visiting a Christmas lights display up the street! I decided to try it basted on the fact that they have taken up 3 spots in the plaza! No one would pay rent for 3 if it wasn't good food! We loved it! Last night was our second! I notice everyone there is treated like family! Owner and his wife were so kind to us the first time and just as nice this second time! Place is immaculately clean and has superb food! Def not just a pizza join! I had wings dry and they were perfectly cooked, delicious! I also had a Stromboli that was delicious! My bf had the chicken parm which was great! His brothers had chicken Picatta and grille chicken Cesar wrap! They loved it! The ones wife had chicken tenders and fries! We can't say again how great it was! Ordered a few dishes to go and was quite impressed with the portion sizes. Loved the chicken parmesan over linguini. It came with multiple slices of chicken and a side of salad. We also got the chicken wings which were excellent. Unfortunately though, the calamari was soggy by the time we ate it so I can't give an accurate review of that. My dad ordered the veal parmesan which he devoured. We also ordered 2 kids meals: butter linguini and pasta with 1 meatball. Everyone kept complimenting how good the food was. This was the first time for most of us since we heard it opened not to long ago. They were very generous with the bread and when they found out our order was in celebration of my dad's birthday, they threw in 8 cannolis, one for each of us. Now that's great service! La Terrazza is a cozy pizzeria located in a quiet shopping mall along Rt. 33. The interior is very clean and well kept and the staff is super friendly. I ordered three slices: a plain, a marinara, and a Margherita. All of the slices were great! The marinara slice had a rich, tasty sauce with delicious fresh garlic and a nice, crunchy crust. The bottom of the slice was perfectly golden brown. The plain slice featured a slightly sweeter sauce, an excellent thin crust, with a pleasant, salty cheese. The plain also had a crispy, brown base. The Margherita slice had a gooey, milky mozzarella with the same fresh and delightful sauce as the marinara slice. What a fantastic meal we just had. Our table shared, Caprese salad, fried artichoke hearts, and cheesy garlic bread appetizers, all of which were fresh and fantastic. As an entrée one of our members got the lobster ravioli with vodka sauce with baby shrimp, and it had so much shrimp in it. It could've been a meal on its own, and then I got the grilled jumbo shrimp over rice with spinach with a side of meatballs, and the spinach was so fresh, and the shrimp and meatballs were cooked perfectly. Be aware that you have to BYOB if you want wine or anything like that We finished our meal off with two chocolate mousse cups, and cappuccinos that were fabulous. The owner, waiter, and trainee waiter were attentive, friendly, and could not have given us better service. It was a fantastic meal overall, and we cannot wait to come again. read more

I must preface this by saying that I've only had pizza slices from here. I've never tried any of the entree's or sandwiches, nor did I have the urge to, because this is just a place by my work to grab a quick bite once in a blue moon. Having said that - plain slice is solid, meat lovers is ok but kind of whatever, and the gourmet slices (not much to choose from) are average at best. This is definitely more of a place to stop by if you just so happen to be driving past and you want a quick slice, it'll do the job. However, it's not the type of place you excitably talk with your coworkers about getting for lunch. Prices excluded, I don't think anyone would mind paying higher prices for food, as long as they get what they paid for. Wouldn't consider myself a "regular," but have been there more enough that some of staff recognize me, which would lead me to believe that I would at least obtain a quality product. Nothing more, nothing less. I wanted to be sure, so I had someone else place an order for me, and then I compared the product, which was a rib eye steak sandwich. Ordered food to go (on a Friday). Arrived in 15 minutes as quoted but food wasn't ready, which is okay we did not mind waiting. Especially since they were clearly busy. Front desk girl was nice and rang us up as soon as we arrived. The dining room looked busy. As they handed us our food the manager or could have been owner we aren't sure, started yelling and cursing at one of the cooks to stop whatever he was working on and "f****** make the pizza that they have been waiting for an hour for and that you f***** up on." Awkward and unprofessional, the girl in the front hurried and handed us our food at that point. You don't yell and curse at your staff, especially in the front ( he was right where the pizzas are behind the glass) where customers are waiting. Margherita pizza was okay not worth how much they charge and the fried sliced mozzarella was soggy and not seasoned, again for how much it costs not worth it. Also the bread that they give you is literally pieces of pizza crust. The wings weren't tossed in the sauce we had to toss it ourselves. I'll go down the street to scotto's. read more

I have been going to La Terrazza since it opened. I was desperately seeking a local alternative to a neighboring competitor because, as a Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NY native, that other place leaves much to be desired. So when La Terrazza opened, I just had to try them out. I haven't had a chance to enjoy a sit-down dinner yet, but I have tried two meals. The first, a simple meatball hero which was custom ordered and served to perfection. Then their pizza which is probably the best I've had in well over 15 years. My pizza order is usually the same, give or take a topping here and there, but for the most part I order a large pie with slightly less than normal mozzarella. I omit any extra grated cheese that is sometimes sprinkled on your average pizza. Toppings are usually pepperoni, mushrooms and black olives. Maybe an extra sprinkle or two of oregano. I request the pizza be cooked on the light side, then when it comes out, I add cold marinara sauce to the entire pie. The heat of the pizza not only heats the extra sauce, it helps blend it right into the toppings. By now, the guys all know me by "order", especially Giuseppe who usually declares my order as I walk into the store. I really have to praise Giuseppe who is such a kindhearted young man and who is not only a credit to the business but a very helpful employee who always makes everyone who walks in feel like family. Lastly, when they first opened, they didn't offer delivery. The good news is they do now! Delivery is available between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM daily. So I'm definitely going to give that a shot very soon. My only concern with delivery is the potential of receiving cooled or cold food. Fresh High Quality Ingredients! While working in the area we chose to grab a Pie one day & the next day we dined in for lunch. With so many Pizza choices in the area, this restaurant stands out just a bit more. The Pizza crust had a delightful crunch & taste unlike many others. The sauce tasted like the tomatoes were picked straight off the vine. The Mozzarella Cheese was perfectly creamy with no bubble gum consistency. We ordered half mushrooms & they were very tasty. The next day we ordered the Garlic Bread with Mozzarella appetizer it was worth every naughty calorie! My coworker & I both got the Chicken Francese with Sautéed Spinach. I opted out of the pasta because they don't have angel hair; (And gave us room for dessert !) The chicken was very tender & the sauce was less lemony but not a deal breaker. The Spinach was perfect & tender as well. (No chewy or stringy stems here). We got a Cannoli & the Tartufo. (Yes we indulged!) The cannoli crust must be homemade because it's unique to this restaurant. The Tartufo had chocolate, strawberry & pistachio ice cream & having had this dessert in many places, it was a cut above in flavor. I didn't see Caesar salad on the menu but the garden salad that came with our meal was cool & crisp with tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes (which normally I dislike but these were good) cucumber & romaine lettuces. Decided to stop by this place since I live in Twin Rivers, and I was looking for a decent meal to finish my day. I was served a house salad, warm bread, a huge dish of gnocchis with a light sauce, fixed with capers, kalamata olives, shaved parmesan and eggplant. Everything came to $24 with my drink.
