i have been coming here longer than i can remember. but, we need an expiration date on the frozen pizza etc. last week was not the first time i got home, to realize that the pepperoni was grey(gross) i called to let them know, they did offer to replace with a fresher pizza, but who wants to battle traffic again, once you are home from work. ended up ordering jets. read more

This place has been great. We ordered many cakes here including our wedding cake. Just make sure you think your order through because they don't make recommendations on changing what you ask for, even if it may not go well. However, we did give them specific instructions for custom cakes and they came out well. The only cakes that we ordered which were a bit off were the banana nut and cherry nut and they were ordered most recently. Both were dry and tasted more like bread. Also they promised cherries in the cherry nut but there were none. read more

I bought a cassata cake for my sister's birthday. I asked if they could put a sunflower on the cake. It was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. Not only did they put the sunflower on top, but they added another one on the side. Another special touch is that they did the writing on the cake in white first and then again in color, so it really made it stand out. They did this on the decoration around the cake too. The cake and filing was also the best I have every had. My sister was thrilled!!! She couldn't stop saying how much she loved it. We ordered our daughter's wedding cake from Mannino's. At the tasting we had trouble deciding which flavors to order -- they were all just wonderful. We had a picture of what we wanted the cake to look like and they followed this to a "tee". Our emailed questions were answered promptly and everyone was anxious to help us. Delivery of the cake to the reception venue went off without a hitch and we received many compliments on its appearance and deliciousness. Although we knew the cake was slightly larger, serving-wise, than we really needed, we figured having some leftovers would hardly be a tragedy. Not to worry. Nearly every speck was consumed, although we also had a dessert table at the dinner. Highly recommend Mannino's! p.s. All their other items are fabulous, also! read more

My wife and I go to this bakery every year to buy a cassata cake (Italian cake) for our son's birthday, In fact, we have introduced this bakery to friends and family and they have ended up going there. Their food is awesome. I haven't gotten much other than the cassata cake, but I have had a few pastries and they were awesome too. The cake we like has cannoli cream inside of the cake. It is moist and delicious. Somewhat expensive, but I buy it for my son's birthday because he loves it so much. I don't have a problem with their food,. I do have a problem with the way I was treated today, A couple days ago my wife and I went in and asked for a cassata cake for my son's birthday. My wife was very clear in asking for a cassata cake. We also purchased some pastries and even a package of natural dog treats that they make. (yorkies won't eat them, but Rocko loves them) Anyway, the day after we had everyone over for my son's birthday. We had dinner and then came the cake. Everyone was excited about getting a slice of cassata cake. Well after cutting into the cake, my sister who had a piece realized it was just plain old cake. Not a cassata cake at all. It was too late to call them - they close at 7 pm M-fri. So people had some cake. About 1/2 of the cake was gone. I wasn't going to do anything about it, but this made me mad. I specifically asked for cassata cake and even told the employee how much we missed the cassata cake while living in Florida. On the phone the woman asked what I wanted them to do. I told them I wanted them to replace the cake! She put me on hold for a while and finally came back and said to bring back the other cake and they would give me a cassata cake if I paid the difference. Now, I wasn't happy about he having to pay the difference because this was THEIR mistake - NOT MINE! It was inconvenient to take the cake back the next day, etc... But we took it back and once there the owner said because the cake was half way gone she wasn't going to replace the cake, we would have to buy a whole new cake if we wanted one. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? No customer service there. I have sent many people to their bakery. I WAS a loyal customer. NOT ANYMORE!!!! They finally replaced the old plain cake with a cassata cake and I paid $6.00 but it was a hassle to get them to do it. I will tell you I will NEVER go there again! I will drive out of my way to get my cassata cake at a different bakery! This owner does not know how to treat a loyal customer. This was their fault and they should have apologized and gave me a new cake!!! Never once did anyone say I am sorry I ruined the cake for your son's birthday and it was a big birthday - his 21st. All he asked for was a darn cassata cake and they screwed up! Shame on this owner! She needs to learn how to treat a loyal returning customer because now I will tell anyone I know about this incident and I will encourage them NOT TO GO TO MANNINOS! read more

every once in awhile the doctors surprise us with little pastries from here and OMG do i eat my fair share. just yesterday i polished off a 1/2 dozen of their italian butter cookies. they are so delicate and buttery. mmmmmm, with sprinkles, what could make your day any better? sprinkles are gods way of cheering us up. they have delicious tiny casata cakes and bumpy cakes and canolis. allison says they're to die for and i may just commit suicide. really freaking good bakery goods. love, juston read more

Though I rarely indulge in pastries for breakfast, I found the Mannino's near the work coffee station too delicious to indulge sensibly in. The cannoli weren't cloying like many found on American dessert menus and even the humblest varieties of cookies managed to clock in right above the bar. I am shocked at all the 5 star reviews. This bakery is at best a one maybe two star rating. Their cakes are awful, dry and very little flavor. The cakes a Kroger's are by far better tasting and more moist. Thought we were going to get a lake of better quality than Kroger reading these review, but I am not sure what these people's standards are. Anyway to cut this short, if you are interested in a mediocre cake go to Costco or Kroger's. Buy your cake from here if you want a below average cake that tastes like a week old baked this is the place. read more

This has got to be one of my favorite bakeries in town. I drive all the way from Novi, MI to get their fruit cheesecake. At $18 it's a great deal for the amazing taste that you get. I haven't tried much else, but the cheesecake is to die for. I'll update my post with a picture of it once I pick it up. read more

Having studied 9 months in Italy, I tried my fair share of its baked goods. And here at Mannino's, they get it right. And the prices are fantastic! I have had a couple of lovely cassata cakes from Mannino's in the past, ​however, yesterday I had a piece of a marble sheet cake from here and it was awful. Granted I got a corner piece that was a lot of frosting, which was gritty but the cake itself was dry and hard without much taste. My husband said he also ran into something hard in his piece. Never have I set foot in this bakery but just attended a graduation party and the cake served was from here. Oh my! My mouth feels like it's died and gone to heaven. What a delicious cake! Don't know if it was considered a cassata cake or not however, it was the most moist yellow cake with the most scrumptious cream and chocolate bits filling topped by an extraordinary frosting I've ever had. My favorite bakery ever. My family has been coming here for as long as I can remember for cassata cakes and cannoli. If by chance you've never had cassata cake, you are truly missing out on one of life's great joys. I've made it a personal tradition to come in and buy a cannoli or two every time I get my hair cut next door. I called manninos for my wedding cake after a mix up resulted in my original cake vendor unable to do my cake. They were so sweet, professional, and talented. The cake and buttercream was great, and they used the gold ribbon and rhinestone trim I had collected to make my dream cake a reality. Every time I order a cassata cake from here my guests cannot say enough about how much they LOVE it. Their cakes are amazing! They always turn out better than I expect.
