My wife and I found this fine eatery about. Year ago while traveling through Eau Claire. Our first experience was fantastic. The menu is heavy on the seafood offerings and I couldn't have been happier about that. We have now eaten their 3 times and have been very impressed each time. Absolutely WONDERFUL!! Between my boyfriend and I, we've tried quite a few dishes and have raved about them all. One of our favorites is the Mahi Mahi fish tacos, corn tortillas generously piled with flaky plump Mahi Mahi, red cabbage, and a sauce that's to die for. Another must try dish is the swordfish. The meaty, succulent cut of fish with capers, shallots, and a flavorful cream sauce is by far the best seafood I've tasted in a long time. Most definitely the place to go for seafood in Eau Claire. The cheese dip is also a stand out... complete with roasted red pepper, it's heavenly. The quality of food at Manny's far exceeds the seemingly hefty prices. The only complaint is the sometimes slow service-- and this is only true during very busy times. Try Manny's. You won't regret it!! read more

Very disappointed. I haven't been to Manny's for a while but my favorite is seafood nachos which I have had several times. I went there and ordered my usual. Yikes what a difference. They took out the lobster, and it had very little crab. Then they added red peppers which is not a favorite of mine. Well anyway the red made it prettier but the taste was nowhere close to the last time I had it. Guess I won't be going back., I can get food like that in other places where it is not so expensive, it was worth the extra money before and they were really good...but not anymore. read more

putting this review because it's underrated on yelp. this is not your typical chimichanga Mexican restaurant; this a Mexican with seafood and it's excellent. staff is always just attentive enough, not overbearing. great patio in summer. one of our favorite places to bring out of state guests. read more

Beautiful restaurant, probably one of the best Mexican restaurant atmospheres I have dined in except for maybe in a big city. Dark, cozy but very large, and great decorations. The waiter was very attentive but the restaurant wasn't very busy at 7:30 on a Wednesday. The menu is full of seafood selections which did not thrill me. I did however, order the calamari which was supposed to be lightly breaded. It was heavily breaded and fake. However the jalapeño cream sauce that came with it is fabulous. You get the first basket of chips and salsa on them but the next basket is $3. No biggie. I just ordered the chicken quesadillas and they were pretty good, but it's kind of hard to screw that up. For some reason the entrees really worried me about how they would be prepared. I travel every week and am an adventurous eater but for some reason when bay shrimp seemed like it was on everything it made me think that whoever came up with the menu wasn't very creative therefore maybe not the best chef. I could be very wrong. Anyway it was a fine experience but I doubt I would be back only because I don't frequent Eau Claire. Oh and my margarita was great! read more

my family and i ate at Mannys for the first time on friday January 25th. i was very dissappointed. we were seated right by the emergency fire door and it was very cold. the fire extinguisher cabinet rests right above the end of the table. there were several tables that we walked by that were empty. i feel this table should be a last resort and only if the customer is informed of its location. we sat for 20 minutes with not one person coming to our table. finally a waitress came and took our drink order 2 waters and a soda took over five minutes to get. then we sat with the menus closed and ready to order for 30 minutes. then another waitress noticed we were not being waited on so she took our order. it took over 30 minutes to get our food. 2 burritos and 3 tacos. the food was HORRIBLE!!!!!!. the rice was under cooked and crunchy. the burritos had absolutely NO FLAVOR.... the tacos were also without flavor. i refused to eat my food. So we kept asking the waitress for bowl after bowl of chips. She appeared annoyed after about the 3rd bowl but I was hungary and i wanted something to eat. The last bowl of chips apparantly was enough for her cause she brought them with no salsa. i have eaten at several Mexican restaurants and extra chips were never a problem and are served as soon as you are seated. All in all we were there for about 2 hours and only 10 minutes of that was actually eating time. i have been a waitress myself in the past so i am a strong and firm 20% tipper sometimes more if the service is really good.Needless to say i did not leave a dime. i will never come back. i get better service at other restaurants at a lot cheaper prices. final thought i guess just because it looks fancy and the prices are a little more definately does not mean better food or service read more
