I'll always be grateful for this clinic. I was in a panic as my puppy had a severe allergy where she woke up with her eyes swollen shut. In addition she was having diarrhea and it was driving me crazy as she had it all over her pen and in our house. I called this clinic as my original vet (Aloha Affordable in Aiea) but they couldn't take her on such short notice. I called Manoa Valley clinic and they said they could take my puppy in 30 minutes. Dr Ashley is professional, she genuinely cares about your pet. She gave my puppy an allergy shot in her back and put her on a bland diet. They tested her stool for parasites. I was sent home with prescribed science diet canned food, and probiotics. I was worried that I'd get a huge bill, but thankfully it was reasonable, a little over $300. Her eyes got better and her diarrhea subsided. I really loved the vet tech, she played with her in the room, the entire time. I cannot remember her name, but she was young, hapa and had really long hair. When my puppy had diarrhea on the floor the tech refused to let me clean it even though I firmly offered. Dr Ashley and her make a great team as they are both patient, with an empathetic bedside manner. They take their time in talking with you and answering all of your questions. You don't feel rushed out or that they just want to charge you to make money. This location is very convenient and it's easy to get an appointment. It isn't cheap but I believe it is worth the money being that Manoa is quite pricey. read more

I was extremely grateful to find Dr. Nakaoka and her team at this clinic when my sweet senior kitty became sick. They got us in straight away for a same day sick visit even though I was a brand new client. Dr. Nakaoka always took the time to fill me in on exactly what was happening, and she explained in detail all the possible ways we could move forward with diagnostic testing and treatment. The receptionists & techs were just as great. Always kind and cheery. Everyone was so sweet and loving towards my cat - and so patient with my wild 2yo that I had to take with me to every visit, thank you! You can just tell that everyone here loves animals and works so hard to take excellent care of the animals and owners that come into this clinic. I will defo continue coming here & i would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a new vet. I love this place! My dog had a big bladder stone and Dr. Dang was so amazing at helping me with the best treatment plan. We didn't want to do surgery unless it was the only and best option for our senior dog. We ended up doing both options which was a specific antibiotics, urine test and x-rays to monitor the situation and then eventually surgery when there was no improvements. Dr. Dang also noticed something in our dog's stomach in the preoperative x-rays and was able to remove foreign objects in a second surgery for our dog that could've caused issues later on for her. The surgeries were a huge success and we are so grateful for Dr. Dang and the entire team for saving our dog. We love her so much and are so relieved she is healthy again. Dr. Kaya used to be a vet at VCA and my dad highly recommend him. My mom told me about how it is his clinic now. The day I got our dog my mom insisted we take him to the vet and they were able to squeeze me in the same day to see Dr. Knock. He did bark at everyone and everything there but the staff was so nice about it even though he was being crazy. The vet tech Josh was the one to examine Shiloh first before Dr. Kwock they had to bribe him with some cheese. And he got a shot and they trimmed his nails for free the one time which was awesome. He recently got stung by a bee and we went to the emergency vet and they called making sure he was ok which was very sweet. Definitely recommend any of their locations. read more

Took our dog for her first visit there mainly because our previous vet (Alii Animal Hospital) sent a reminder that our dog need her influenza vaccine and get prescription flea medication but ended up going sooner than expected because she hadn't been feeling well a few days earlier. But I'm already sold - front staff was friendly and welcoming and Dr. Dang took great care of our dog. Because Alii Animal Hospital still only allow owners in the waiting room, I expected to go run other errands. So I was pleasantly surprised that I was allowed in the room with our dog and they even had her name on the board to welcome her (not that she can read ha ha)! But it's these small things like this that in and of itself was the selling point for me. Then come to find out, our dog doesn't really need the influenza vaccine (turns out only need it if you're boarding...but Alii never bothered to tell me that). Add to that they're open seven days a week and there is a ton of parking because it's in Manoa Marketplace (where FHB used to be), I'll definitely be taking our dog there from now on for all our vet needs. read more

I have read some of the reviews and saw that some people did not have a good experience here. I guess it goes to show that no place can make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time. Because all I know is that Manoa Valley Vet has been an Amazing experience for us. It is the only vet that our dog was not afraid to go to. Which tells me that they must have been treating him well when he was in the back. They were always excited to see him, and always treated us with care and respect. They helped us through many difficult times as our dog got older. But it wasn't until our dog was at the end of his life and it was finally time to bring him in, because he was suffering, that I realized how much they cared for him. We had scheduled a visit with a different business who would send a doctor to our house to assess him, and would euthanize him there when the time came. We thought that it would be best for him to pass there. But because he was in so much pain one day, and it couldn't wait, we decided to go to Manoa instead. It turned out to be much better in our opinion. My mom had been taking him into the vet the most because my wife and I were so busy working, so I didn't really know everyone there that well. Although we did have a good experience when did go. When we got there that day though, everyone came out to greet us and they were visibly upset. They guided us into a small, but comfortable room with a window and explained the process, and told us to take all the time we needed to say goodbye. Of course we balled our eyes out, and took a long time to be with him. They didn't rush us or interrupt us. They made the experience of allowing our dog to pass on peacefully, and with dignity an unforgettable one. They showed us patience and compassion. They all told us how much they loved him and shared some experiences of taking care of him. I was surprised at how many people knew who he was. We know for sure that they truly cared for him. That means more to us than anything they could have done right, or done wrong with his treatment. We are so grateful to Manoa Valley Vet. To the Doctors, Techs, and Staff. They all always seemed to go out of their way to accommodate us at some point. We can't say enough about how good they have been to us. read more

Brought my kitten here after adopting him from Hawaiian Humane Society. I was told a X-ray was needed to determine if something was physically wrong with him. That was about 500$, but after bringing him to another vet, they told me the X-rays were unnecessary and that you could physically tell by looking and feeling it was a "pulled tail". It's obvious that this clinic tried to up sale as much as they can. As an Emergency Room Nurse myself working in the Medical Field, I find this absolutely repulsive and a deceiving tactic to extort money. You also expect them to do more than just X-rays since it was also obvious he was lethargic and dehydrated. But it was mostly just X-ray and just "recommendations". Overall, I recommend finding vets that actually cares and don't attempt to do procedures that aren't necessary. Will be receiving all records and transferring them to my new clinic that I found whom actually care. Edit: The new clinic I started seeing was able to provide what I requested for immediately and was able to help me get my kitten on a right track. Kitten is now slowly gaining weight and his diarrhea is slowly becoming solid. They pulled some tests and samples at a fraction of what this place (Manoa Vet) charged ! Take your business and beloved animal elsewhere. Also, what made me kind of irked with this clinic is that it seems like they assumed I was the one that caused the pulled tail (both the vet and technician). Something about the way they were talking to me, gave me a sense of uneasiness. Another update; I requested all files on Saturday, was told Vet won't be in until Monday... Love this place! We found it from an ad on TV and decided to check them out. First off, it's been very easy to get an appointment anytime from the day we've called to no later than 2 days from the call. Once there, the wait is no more than 10 minutes. Our kitty sees Dr. Fry. We love her! She's kind, gentle, and compassionate. Dr. Fry always tries to provide options from the most conservative to the most aggressive so we can see the potential progression of care, depending on the final diagnosis. Other vets we've been through have suggested the most aggressive and expensive options as if it were our only option. After much questioning, the more conservative options are then offered. Pee yoo. I don't appreciate that approach. The staff at Manoa Valley Veterinarian Clinic is kind to all animals visiting the office and have taken extra steps to make our kitty feel comfortable. They've given him yummy treats and allowed him to roam the examination room so he can work out his anxiety about being there. Love this new veterinary clinic in Manoa Marketplace as we followed Dr. Dang here to her new practice from her last practice location. Dr. Dang is a knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian who gives so much of her time to the animals she cares for. It's not unusual to receive follow up calls from her late evenings as she checks in with her patients or calls with results (we've had positive experiences with both types of calls from her). I'm very pleased with the service and care of this veterinary practice, it feels like the old time neighborhood vets who knew you and your pet personally, instead of the in/out revolving door service you sometimes receive at larger clinics / animal hospitals. I highly recommend this rather new Veterinary clinic in the heart of Manoa. It's worth the drive, and the bonus? So far mixed reviews. Had a few issues already, not with the vets, but had a simple question and the front desk Diane, couldn't let me speak. Kept talking over me and then cut me off mid sentence while transferring me. Which is equivalent to hanging up and you don't hang up like dat especially when you're the one being rude. Because of past issues and being patient through all of it, I got so frustrated this time. Talked to the technician, slightly rude as well. Aloha, I have been a good client of Manoa Valley Vet clinic for a couple of years. One of their vets is Dr. Erin Kwock and we followed her from VCA so that she could take care of our pet Chihuahua Oscar which she has done a good job overall of for five years. Recently, our pet dog developed not one, but two concerning and serious health conditions, so I went to see Dr. Kwock at the clinic. Dr. Kwock ran some blood tests, which were expensive, so I had to ask some questions about the bill, what is included in the panel of tests that I paid for. When our precious pets get sick, it is stressful for the pet owner and you would think that the office staff and office manager would be extra compassionate and understanding. But this was not the case in my experience at Manoa Vet Clinic. I had to call several times because the front office staff failed to answer basic questions, be helpful, and in fact the front office staff and especially their office manager Dina are very rude and unprofessional. In fact, in todays conversation with office manager Dina, she told me that we were no longer welcome at Manoa Valley Vet Clinic, and were being banned from the clinic, which came as a compete and total surprise. I asked why and Dina told me that I called too much with questions about my bill and medical questions regarding my dog's illness, but isn't this what concerned pet owners do when their dog is so sick? I only wish that Dina, her front office staff and Manoa Valley Vet Clinic had the same level of concern for our pet dog as I do, but clearly they do not. I was a good client at Manoa Valley and paid all of my bills, kept all of my appointments and had a great rapport with Dr. Kwock, so there is just no reason or justification for banning us, with no warning from Manoa Valley Vet Clinic. Now, Dina has stranded me, my family and sick dog with no vet care and she refused to help with the transition to a new vet clinic. Dina also did not allow me to get final medical questions answered by talking to Dr. Kwock. How rude and unprofessional of Dina! In conclusion, I would not recommend taking your precious pets to Manoa Valley Vet Clinic. Though the vets are good, the front office staff and Dina the office manager are not, and they are the ones you will have to talk to, so find another clinic! read more

Gave Dr another chance and visited again, to correct wing trim..and my experience with the visits just got even worse than the one prior. We visit family in Manoa often and needed a current Health Certificate for our return trip to California for our Yorkie Poo fur baby. The one we got in California was over 30 days old. We love the Manoa Valley Veterinary Clinic!! It was easy to get an appointment and all of the staff are polite and kind. Dr. Kwock was awesome and you can tell she loves all of her pet patients! Our dog has allergies and she also received her allergy shot. We are so happy and relieved we found a local Vet who will work closely with our California Vet when needed and in case of any emergencies or just to obtain required documents to fly back and forth. Both the Airlines and Dept of Agriculture have strict rules regarding traveling and visiting pets so having a good Vet is great. Mahalo. read more

I tried to bring my dog here and not only did the doctor and tech miss the fact my dog had a heart murmur and almost put her at risk in surgery but also have very UNPROFESSIONAL staff. There was a tech named Samie who kept talking about wild tinders in front of clients with receptionists Brooke and Nina which made me feel very uncomfortable. They also seriously overcharge and only seem to want clients with money to spend. The reception staff also kept talking about bad clients and complaining about how bad they are. All the staff that was inappropriately engaged where female and it made me feel like even more uncomfortable as it was like they judge you and you're pet. This place really blew me away with unprofessionalism and disrespect. read more
