I am very surprised by the negative reviews. We travel a few miles passing other bagel stores on the way to get our Sunday morning bagels here. They are very satisfying in taste and consistency. The bagel breakfast sandwiches are the best breakfast sandwiches that we have ever had. They are overstuffed with fresh ingredient and are reasonably priced as well. Down right horrible, I am never taking my money here again, despite being a loyal customer for years on end. My grandmother was having a party today and saw this advertisement for their Express Bagel Breakfast catering service. It included 2 dozen assorted bagels, 3 lbs. of cream cheese (2 regular, 1 flavored), butter, and jelly for a price of $49.99 + tax. Yesterday, she ordered this and was supposed to pick it up today, but while she was ordering she was confused because the employee told her she couldn't cut them in quarters like it was advertised in the pamphlet they created and printed. They can only cut them in half. Alright, no big deal. Today she goes to pick them up and the same woman forgets the entire order. Then she asks if it's okay she puts the bagels in a bag. A bag? You advertise a platter of 2 dozen bagels, why are they going in the bag? They said it would be $20 extra, but instead they only put one dozen on the platter and the other dozen in a bag and charged her $10 extra for putting it on a platter. They also only included 1/2 lbs. of cream cheese and no butter, jelly, or the other 2.5 lbs. of cream cheese that we paid for. This is false advertisement and a disgrace to loyal customers who have been coming for years. Don't advertise something that's not the truth !! $60 for 2 dozen bagels and half a pound of cream cheese. I came here for a sandwich to take to work with me. I wanted honey ham and Swiss cheese but unfortunately they only carry one type of ham(regular). I went ahead and ordered it anyway.. ham and Swiss with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and oil and vinegar. The sandwich maker put a copious amount of ham in the sandwich which was good. Everything else was pretty standard. The sandwich was decent, I don't have any complaints about it. My main complaint was that the cashier charged me almost $8 for this sandwich. I work in manhattan and I don't even pay that much for a basic ham sandwich on a roll. My sis comes here often and said she usually pays 6$. I called the deli and they offered to rectify the situation the following day(which they did). This was very upsetting to me because why are different people being charged different prices? What type of reputable establishment would do something like that. I'll be back here again but I'll be on alert to make sure they don't overcharge me ever again. read more

Every time I come to this deli, I always either experience bad customer service or just slow service and have high prices for basic things. I still went because its closest to my house. Today was the last time I will come here. First, the people behind the deli rushed me and have an attitude problem. Second, my purchase came out to $8 and they refuse to take my debit card. I had to pay additional $2.95 for the ATM they have. A lot of business owners don't understand they refuse below $10 credit card or debit cards just to save .30/40cents per transactions on their credit card machine they lose customers. My breakfast cost me additional just cause this business owner didn't want to pay few cents on my transaction to his merchant company. Guess what, every time I came here with my family before we went to the beach we spent $30/40 per visit easily all summer. Usually I have no issues with this bagel place but one of the girls working there today (Wednesday am) was so rude to a customer and was talking trash after she left because she didn't understand how her total was so high, she was being very kind genuinely wondering how it was so high and the girl was so rude to her. This place has gone downhill unfortunately since the Indian guy sold. I am routinely ripped off and they just charge whatever they feel like for sandwhiches. Last night I was charged $9.50 for a cheese sandwich with L&T. When I asked why so much, she said "Oh, I assumed there was meat on the sandwich".... why not ask? she then punched in 8.50. I've been regularly coming here since I moved to north shore 2 years ago. Have never really had an issue until tonight which prompted me to write this review. On more than a few occasions Ive been given my order with something missing, burned inedible bacon, or someone else's order entirely. Once I was telling the girl at the register I didn't think that it was mine and she insisted it was with her nasty attitude. When I got home expected one thing and unwrapped the sandwich to find another needless to say I was annoyed. Usually I've let things like this slide but tonight I was reprimanded by the woman at the counter making my sandwich and probably won't be coming back here anymore. First I was the only one in there. Gave her my order and she didn't really acknowledge that she heard me. She asked me to repeat myself a few times and when I told her the order in full for the 3rd time she told me "I heard you 3 times" with an attitude. Um ok then frikken acknowledge it and if you heard me why you asking me to repeat it multiple times? Then she says I have to wait bc the bagels were in the oven. I asked her to just give me the one in the bin and she tells me "I'll give you a fresh one but fine if you want a stale one. Then looks over and says oh he threw it out already." I'm standing in front of the bin looking right at it don't lie. Of course I'd like a fresh bagel but don't be a jerk about it. Finally order is made she continues acting as if my mere presence is annoying her (again the only one in there) as I pay and leave. Go home open the wrapper and the bacon is completely burnt and basically in crumbles. If you made me wait for a fresh bagel why the hell is it acceptable to give me burnt inedible old bacon? Should've known better when I was being attacked by flies while waiting for her to make my sandwich. I'm done with this place. Too many strikes. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because some of the people there are really nice and personable plus I like their bagels but this lady just ruined this place for me. read more
