Good food. Feels old school. I accidentally walked behind the register because it was hard to figure out the vibe of the whole place. They have signs on the wall behind the deli with menu items, but you can't really read them unless you walk over there which apparently is behind the register. When I placed the order, the owner called me several days later to discuss recommendations on how to make sure my order was perfect for my party. It was clear how knowledgeable he is in the business, along with communicating how much he values his customers. I was very impressed by this. Along with this, the food was wonderful. Roll was crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside. It was piled high with roast beef, cheese and onions!! Also, yes there's more, they give you a pickle and a side of cole slaw, potato salad or macaroni salad!! It's small but the sammies are so big you wouldn't need any more!! Next to North End Deli in North Attleboro, this place has the best sandwiches around. I'd recommend the Godzilla - pastrami, cheese and thousand island dressing. I have been eating here for the past couple years and pretty much every sandwich I've gotten is good. Comes with a small side (potato or macaroni salad) and a pickle. I will say the only thing I hate is the pickle. It tastes awful and I wish they would make it better. As for service, for the most part it has been good. They did mess up on my order once and gave me the completely wrong sandwich which was annoying. I now always double check my order when I pick up to make sure I got what I asked for. The place has plenty of parking but it's always pretty full. There's lots on their menu but I've really only gotten the sandwiches. read more

Small, with a nice neighborhood feel. Great sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. Busy, but efficient and the staff were all top notch. Prices seemed super reasonable for what we got. We were in town for a concert and wanted sandwiches to take to our tailgate. Stopped in the day before to double-check on their hours, knowing some businesses are changing their hours due to COVID. Everyone couldn't be nicer. The next day I ordered on-line and in the comments asked for an upgrade on one of my sandwiches (meat to be added when there wasn't a place to indicate and be charged for it online). After placing the order they immediately called me to confirm it, and to let me know since I'd paid on-line I'd need to pay for that upcharge when I picked up the sandwiches -- no problem at all and I appreciated the call. They were super busy and easily could have just told me when I got there that they couldn't do it because I hadn't paid for it. Lots of parking out back. They have a great Italian but I found the soups expensive for non-homemade refrigerated product. It was our first time there but Antone was super patient and helped us select a sandwich option. There's a counter with 6 stools in the middle and one stool in the window. I believe there was also some outdoor picnic seating options too. We had to wait a few minutes for a seat so I wanted to be sure to share that since this seems to be more of a popular take out sandwich shop. Don't let the front of the business keep you from stopping - I always thought it was just a convenience and liquor store (didn't see the deli sign - look up) - well how wrong could I be. My daughter told me about the the deli and said it was a favorite of most of her teachers at the Mansfield School system. From the moment I walked in - I was in love. It reminded me of my days when I lived in New York City and the authentic deli sandwiches and classic Italian food (Lasagna, pasta, pizza slices, etc.) - but don't let the "Italian" fool you - this place is like home. The owners and staff are friendly, the menu selections selective and focused and the sandwiches are fun and clever. This place brings big deli flavors and selection to a small hometown in Mansfield, MA. The business is locally owned and run by a great family. OK - the food. My favorite sandwich "Trump Tower" - a combination of Pastrami and Corned Beef - cooked on the grill - which adds crisp edges and flavor; then this is added on a role with cheese, cole slaw and thousand island dressing. Did I say portions - loaded with meat that is not lost in the bun. Love it - and the pickle spear AWESOME! I have had many sandwiches there and have returned many times - never had a bad sandwich. They pay attention to detail, give generous portions and have an amazing variety of specialty sandwiches - in addition to the classics. If you want a vegetarian version - the vegetable wrap and Caprese on Italian role is A+. They can also build you what ever you want! I also fell in love with this place - when Boars Head deli meat is the star! Then side salads (macaroni, cole slaw and potato salad) - all made on site and not over done with condiments - add to the experience. Oh Yes - while you are there grab a bag of chips, take home a pound of Boars Head deli meat, a drink - and when you are at the register; spin around and see the selection of authentic European chocolates that will just be the icing on the cake! Oh and did I mention breakfast. All I can say is get up early - drive there - and grab something to go and enjoy and be fulfilled - all for a reasonable price. Bagels, egg sandwiches, grill top potatoes, are served generously and full of flavor. This place is the best in town and a local gem - I mean it!! I only wish I had discovered it sooner! I haven't been here for quite some time. I would say a good few months? The place looks like it's been freshened up a bit. The owner greeted me by name which always feels quite nice. I wanted to make conversation but my two year old was tearing up the place a bit so I had to keep a watchful eye on him. Ok so down to business...the food. The sandwiches are always wonderful and freshly made. I never worry about a soggy bun (well on my sandwiches anyways). The to go food I purchased were the Ziti with meatballs and chicken broccoli ziti. They always taste home made and at about 7 bucks it's a much better alternative than any fast food (actually much faster) and cheaper. I got my son, the fussy and picky 2 year old, a turkey melt. He absolutely loved it. They never skimp on the meat and never make you feel like you over paid. Between the food and amazing service I would say this is the place to beat. Whites bakery has nothing on this place...well unless you want to throw your money at an overpriced chain then go there. But if you're like me and appreciate the hard working guy next door who puts lots of love into his relationship with his customers and food then go here. You won't regret it. I've visited this deli number of times and they never disappoint. Their sandwiches are made with Boar's Head meats, and come with a choice of pasta or potato salad on the side and a pickle. On my most recent visit, I ordered a turkey club on a bulkie roll. The sandwich was made perfectly and the portion was very generous (see my pictures). I could only eat half of it! For two sandwiches, the total came to $13.00 and you get some serious bang for your buck! They also sell beer and wine. If you're thinking about checking out Mansfield Variety and Deli, there is a parking lot out back. There's no place to sit down inside and no picnic tables outside, but this would be a great stop to get lunch for a picnic! read more

Wow. The "Here's the Beef" sandwich is by far the best roast beef sandwich I have ever had. They roast their own beef for this sandwich... and it is so tender, practically melts in your mouth! The bread is amazing too and is perfectly toasted. Service was excellent, sandwich was ready in less than 5 mins. I also ordered a container of the pasta with chicken and broccoli to go, and it was another fantastic find. Definitely recommend this place if you're in a 10-15 mile radius...
