My lease to my current car was coming up due and after testing driving a few different vehicles I knew I wanted to either go electric or hybrid. I started researching makes and models on the Volvos and was interested in the XC40 electric and XC60 hybrid. MMG was the only dealership that had the XC60 hybrid there and they had mentioned that the XC40 electric was at the dealership. I scheduled my test drive and made it up from Columbus to MMG. When I arrived I was told to see Matt L, who was super nice and welcoming. He did deliver the not so nice news that the XC40 electric had not arrived (-1 star... I would have probably postponed my test drive appointment with some heads up notice), but Matt truthfully answered all of my questions about the XC40 electric and unfortunately the technology and range wasn't suitable for my needs (but would have been a great commuter car). However since I was already up there, I decided why not give the XC60 hybrid a test drive. Matt took me around as he explained the different features on the car, and then it was my turn to take it for a spin and I was hooked! Although he gave me the initial numbers, I couldn't stay to negotiate things, as I had an appointment to get to, but Matt gave me his card and the rest of the negotiation was handled over the phone and text. We went back and forth a few times, and I will say Matt was patient with me in running through different options until we settled on the final price of the vehicle and what my lease terms would be (the offered better lease incentives). Pickup the car was a seamless process as I had all of my paperwork overnighted to me ahead of time. They took a picture of the problem, called me 3 days later to tell me that I should take it back to the dealership from which I purchased it to have it taken care of. They wouldn't even attempt to get it repaired under warranty. Was told originally that they would contact Nissan to verify it was a warranty issue. When I asked if they did, he said he didn't know if they had or not. Just a very poor experience with a Nissan approved dealership which I thought could have been handled with much more professionalism. read more

Came in Monday told them I need the check today, they said they may be able to but most likely will be tomorrow. Waited till 2 on Tuesday, no word, so I stopped in. Can't get me a check till Wednesday. Will be Friday when I go in then? I ain't ever herd of a place expecting you to leave your car, and your title and not give you the check. I am patient so I just figured what ever, but they knew they would not get it on Monday and was iffy on Tuesday. They lied to me to get the car, still awaiting the check. I lost one good car purchase because of the run around. Close to losing a 2nd. Just saying, don't sell your car there, and based in the service, don't buy from there. We purchased our vehicle here, no issues. I got a deer last spring and chose to have the body work done at MMG. The repair went ok, a few months the wheel trim came loose. The repair guy Sean said he would order a new one and let us know when it came in. He said should take a couple weeks. We were supposed to hear from him in Aug, we haven't heard anything. I have tried to call numerous times, can't get in touch with him. I have called and left messages. The last message was said to be left with Sean and the body shop manager. Mansfield Honda tried bait and switch on me. Called them midday to confirm they had an advertised car still in inventory. Rep put me on hold, came back and confirmed car was there and scheduled an appointment for me hour and half later. Sales person called me later and again confirmed appointment. I show and they tried to switch me to completely different vehicle. Then said car I called about was sold and buyer had taken delivery that morning, hours before I called. Underwhelmed by the sales staff and lack of professionalism. I had an appointment to test drive a specific vehicle and when I arrived they were unprepared. Apparently, someone gave them the idea I was planning to buy that day and they started to take an loan application before I had a chance to ask any questions about the car or take it out for a test drive. When I told them that I was very specific when setting the appointment on which car I wanted to test drive, they couldn't find the car. They ended up handing me the keys to another vehicle without the options that I wanted. The car was a disappointment, to say the least and I was no longer interested in any car of that model or make. When I returned, the salesman told me they found the vehicle that I wanted to test drive. By then, I wouldn't have taken the car if you had given it to me for free. I handed him back the keys to their car.... guess what? They couldn't find the keys to MY car and spent 10 minutes looking for them. I can mention names but no beed to be petty. I came in to test drive a mechanic special (meaning no financing or warranty) and all was good. I needed a week to get the funds but when I called to purchase the car I was ghosted. When I tried reaching them from a different number they responded and yes the car was still available. Im not sure why they blocked my number but my guess is if the commission was bigger they may have been friendlier. I drove over 2 hours to see the car and it needed over 4k in work. First. The VIP program is one free oil change if you're lucky. The Car wash is never in operation and after a MINIMAL amount of miles you end up paying FULL PRICE for everything. Second. Was there to pick up my vehicle, slipped on black ice on their property that had ZERO salt down and they are big enough to be able to get out of helping with any of the medical bills for THEIR negligence. Okay I will be generous and give them a 2 star because the service department once had a part we needed for our current Honda, in stock at a fair price. My experience today was definitely 1 star. We are in the market for a new car. I know what I want but I also know that what I want is not available at this time. Frankly I wanted to check out other colors and other Honda's that might be almost as pleasing to me. What a waste of time. We were the only customers in the store. We were greeted and left. Fine, let me look around the showroom but keep an eye on me if I linger or look like I might have questions. I would not recommend this company as they were supposed to give me a free oil change with the purchase of my car. I called about a year ago to schedule it and no one called me back I got my oil changed and paid for it from another place. Today MMG send me an email about an 18 month maintenance, so I called them up and asked about the free oil change I was supposed to get. I was informed by them that even though they never returned my call to schedule the free oil change that the offer had expired after a year. Called a few days after we got it home and they said bring it in. They said they put a brand new radio in it when we bought it and it just needed an update. The update didn't work. Called them about 5 times and finally someone called me back and said that the used radio they got from the junkyard wasn't the correct radio ( told it was brand new when we bought it). Stopped in the Mercedes dealer not long ago. They had a used, red convertible in the showroom. Very nice car, low miles. Cheap price. I was suspicious. The next day, we called the dealer and requested a Carfax.com report. We were told that they could provide a report to view, but not have. The sales guy then comes clean and tells us he knows the car has been involved in some sort of accident in the past. Sales should have been upfront about the cars history from the get-go. Jason Resendez, the service manager should be cloned and sold as how to be a service manager. The absolute best customer service I have received in a long time. Very welcoming, very methodical in how he answered my questions, being careful to not say too much but provide some detail. He said when he would call, called when he said and was extremely detailed with the estimate. The estimate was A LOT more than I wanted to spend, however the thoroughness of the proposal and Jason's quality of customer service gave me confidence to proceed with the work. I paid what I was quoted, the job was completed when they said it would be done and my car returned in better condition then when I dropped it off. They washed it and swept the interior. The only reason it was not 5 star is I never received a follow up call asking how everything was with the repairs. The engine coolant (which they flushed and replaced) was low causing the check engine light to come on. I added more coolant and everything is fine. Great job Jason read more

Returned my CRV after many attempts at try to call to set up an appointment as a letter I received asked me to do. I called many times, and each time the operator would say to me, I will connect you with that person, and the phone would ring on more than one desk each time, only to end up back on the operators phone time and again, I finally was tired of being put off, so I just drove up and turned it in, as I had received a recall notice, just as my lease was ending, and at no other time did anyone from Honda try to contact me about that. It was also told to me, that the amount I had been paying was a travesty, and so I am choosing to save 200 a month and going to another dealer. This was by far the WORST customer experience I have had in my entire life....not just car buying, I mean in anything. To start, I set up an appointment to look at a specific car. When we got there, they gave us a different agent than specified in the email, ok, no big deal! So we started working with Mac. I requested to see a very specific car that had been on their website for several days, was in our price range and was EXACTLY what we were looking for (just a note, we were looking for an affordable commuter car while we restore my husbands classic truck). I asked multiple times to see this car but was given the excuse that it was being detailed, I even offered to come back the next day b/c I was certain that's what we wanted; if he would have shown us this car and all was ok with it, we would have bought it and been out of his hair in an hour and he could have moved on to other customers with bigger budgets, but no. Instead, he took us from car to car, well over the price range I gave him (sometimes more than double). We should've walked away then but we really just needed a commuter car. Even the sales manager Jason Saxton came out and was trying to push us into upping our budget b/c it would lower our interest rate (and not considerably so), not considering that I knew this would still put our monthly payments well over the range I had given them and for 6 years, not 4 or 5 like we wanted. Again, we should've just left. FINALLY, after a couple of hours they brought up an 07 Ford Fusion; perfect! Way below our price range, desirable monthly payments, and although it did have a rust spot and a dent we could live with it b/c it was what we needed in a car: to get from one place to another with good fuel economy. It was clean on the inside so we took it for a test drive. There was a slight noise coming from the front wheel well but we decided to buy the car with the contract stating they would FIX whatever was causing the noise and Mac said we would get a loaner car in the meantime. Let me just say, the car buying experience was already frustrating but we were willing to persevere. I am only 26 but this is the 3rd car I've bought since I was 20 and have accompanied several others during their car shopping. I know salesmen are there to sell you a car, I know they will say what they have to but I've never experienced it so bluntly. It was obvious that Mac was irritated that we weren't buying a brand new car and it was painfully apparent Jason was pushing for the high price tag and long loan term. But we were persistent and finally got the car we wanted. So we were finally able to make an appointment to fix whatever was making the nosise but were told we couldn't get a loaner car (because according to the service department "that's a lot more work to get set up") and because I made the mistake of saying that if WORST CAME TO WORST my relative could pick me up and drop me off, mind you this is if the fix was a one day thing. So we went back and forth with the service dept. trying to get a loaner car and trying to contact Mac but to no avail b/c he has never (not once) returned a single phone call since we bought the car. So, we finally just say 'whatever' and make the appt. and I arrange to be picked up with hopes that I can get the car on my way home from work. Our appt was at 9:30 am which is when I dropped off the car. Around 12:30 a girl from service called my husband and asked if we were still coming in for our appt (RED FLAG) so my husband informed her the car has been there since 9:30 so she turns around and VOILA the car is right there in the service dept. Next, service proceeds to call my husband several times throughout the day trying to give him an estimate, which he informs them that we don't need to know the estimate b/c we aren't paying for the repair, that it was in our sales contract for them to fix it. As of 6:30 pm nothing has been resolved, so I am able to step away from work and get ahold of the manager in the service dept (the only saving grace in the whole company). He informs me that the problem is the contract appears to say that they will inspect the vehicle for whatever is making the noise but not fix it (which is wrong) I let him know that's wrong. He also tells me he has tried getting in touch with the sales team (and manager) at least 4 times that day but cannot get them to answer his question. Needless to say, I raised hell b/c now we don't have a car and I'm stranded at work b/c my husband works in Marion. Manager calls me back at 7:30pm, says they have the contract figured out and that they are in fact supposed to fix the car (like I told them at 9:30 that morning when I dropped it off). For the next 3 days we got excuse after excuse as to why the car would be fixed the next day, each time on the phone with them, they were shorter and ruder. Was quoted over $1,700 worth of repairs that I needed to have done and then the service manager gave me a contact number for his buddy that would do it cheaper. After taking his car back 7 times (at least), and then being told nothing was wrong, we took it to a reliable mechanic and was told that the wheel rim IS BENT and the wheel bearing needed replaced..WHAT, humm how can this be, we were told everything was fine with the care??? We were told from MMG that "nothing was wrong" with the car, and after being checked multiple times (wink wink) RIGHT!!!?? (Issues still persisted and still have no confidence in driving the car on the road). They didn't inspect it as we were told!! OR if they did, their "CERTIFIED" mechanic is blind and hard of hearing not to pick up on the issues that we brought to their attention, again and AGAIN. The owner never called as promised after he said he would discuss our concerns with the service department, SURPRISE, NOT!!! The entire experience with MMG is a BIG DOWNER!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Mercedes prices with less than Pep Boys quality!!! I took my wife's 2012 Honda Civic for repairs at MMG, as I like to have "certified" technicians take care of our vehicles. I schedule the appt, told the service rep it was making a sound on the right side of the car that sounded like the brakes or wheel bearings. After 10 hours of no word, I went by and they found nothing and could hear nothing. I took the "best" mechanic they had for a test ride and demonstrated the noise. He still couldn't hear it, but fixed "something" that he though may be the problem. I paid $119 for the diagnostic. Pulling out of the parking lot, the noise was still there. I then took the service rider and mechanic for a ride, and the service rider quickly heard the same noise, but the "best" mechanic still heard nothing. After about 2 more hours, their "best" mechanic checked the back brake pads and they were shot. He also told me that Honda rear brake pads go out first. On a car with 60k miles, and a customer complaining about a noise and stating he thinks it may be the brakes, shouldnt that led to the mechanci checking the brakes near the begining??? He changed the pads and charged another $180... So basically, I had to spend over 12 hours in a dealership and pay $300 for a brake job Pep Boys could have done in 15 minutes for around $70. I tried to complain to the Service Manager and/or GM, it took them 4 weeks to return my phone call, and expressed that the price I paid is normal and I got a deal if it took their mechanic 12 hours to complete the task (a brake change). I don't mind paying a premium for premium service, but do not think anyone should be charged a premium for incompetency. Maybe being the only Honda dealer in the vicinity has given them an advantage, but going forward, I would not trust them with anything of mine. read more

Any way we were looking to buy a $20,000 used explorer. my wife talked to someone ( I think george)on the phone and we decided to come see the explorer they talked about.We were greeted by another salesman(Mac) who we told we had talked to another salesman.He right away tried to steal the sale and took us to see the vehicle.On our test drive he told us about the manufacturer warranty and about the 30 day warranty from the dealer since they certified it.That was the final selling point as we do not know a lot about cars.40,000 miles on it. We came back from 1-1/2 hrs away to purchase it and was doing the paperwork and when we asked about the paperwork on the 30 day warranty and they told us it is not available after being told it was and they certify the vehicle. ( why certify if you wont stand by it?) At this time george stated he knew Mac did not tell us about the 30 day warranty(he called us a liar and wasnt even in the vehicle with us during the test drive so how could he know what was said.We did all the traveling back there to buy it knowing about the warranty from them.(not getting that warranty was the only thing that kept us from buying it).So we asked for our paperwork back.In the other building George had printed all my wifes info on a paper.(name-address-ssn-and insurance card) As I stepped into the main sales area this paper was left face up on the counter right inside the front door for all to see for over an hour.At this point I was upset and stated for all to hear what they done with this valuable info that is not theirs to "handout" for all to see.I was on my way out at the door leaving when stopped by Dirk the dealer he told me,I see on the website manager. He had called me back thru the sales area to an office to help me. I was asking him what he needed or wanted thinking he was going to honor the 30 day warranty and we would have bought it.Instead of that he took me into an office after I was at the door leaving and as the door shut I was asking what we were doing and he stated he called me in there and said "because you was running your fu@king mouth" I got pissed and cussed him back then left.He only called me back into the building to cuss at me for being upset at their mistakes?Really? lied to,put between 2 salesmen that at least 1 tried to steal the deal, and the other calling us liars defending a guy that tried to steal his sale.then the dealer calling me back in just to raise his voice at me and cuss at me for publishing for all to see my wifes info we try to keep to ourselves.To top that off I cant get thru the phone for almost a week to the Bill Sterno (I believe is the top boss) to vent and tell my story.Doesnt return calls and is always with someone when I call. read more

I have purchased a 2005 CRV previously through 'Whitey's', now MMG. After looking around for a work car for my husband, I came back to MMG. Why? Because I thought their 'certified' used cars meant their 'knowledgeable' mechanics took care in upkeep. Heh heh. Good one! We settled on a 2005 Accord for a pretty reasonable price. The salesman we dealt was very down to Earth and nice; George. The car seemed impeccable and well taken care of. After my husband drove the car for FIVE days after purchase, the engine light was on. He took it to Autozone and was presented a printout that stated the O2 sensor was malfunctioning. I immediately called and spoke with a manager of MMG, Kevin, who told me 100's of sensors fail at any time and I should have gotten a warranty. He would do ABSOLUTELY nothing and gave no option for discounted service, even though I had just spent $10,000 in his dealership. I explained I would not use any service there again and he said 'have a nice day' before hanging up on me!!! What nerve! I took the car to my reliable mechanic who told me BOTH O2 sensors were in horrible bad shape and needed replaced. Wow. This was not a sensor malfunction that 'just happened'. It was an issue covered up by MMG for a poor unsuspecting customer to have to deal with after purchase. Of course, on the way home from my mechanic's shop I pop a CD into the CD player. And guess what? It doesn't work!!! 'Mechanical Error' pops up the screen. Oh lord, please tell me this is the end of my MMG headache! If you are dumb enough to buy a car from these shysters, please invest in their $2500 warranty. read more
