Out here for work and was across the street getting a refund from the laundromat and helping a guy jump his car, when I noticed this pretty donut shop. I asked the guy if this place was good and he immediately said yes and he especially loves their bear claws. I walked across and followed the signs to open the correct door and Kim was there! I noticed they have THE CUTEST donuts with whipped cream and little characters and charms on top. It's like a kids dream donut (or an adult)! I went with the vanilla or cream filled donut with matcha whip cream on top and slices of strawberry and got a bear claw for my new friend. I can tell you the strawberry matcha donut is giving! It's not too sweet, perfectly light, and the strawberry slices give it the right amount of tang. I'm not really a donut or matcha girlie and I loved this donut! I asked Kim about the Cambodian coffee and she said it's similar to Vietnamese coffee. After my inspection this morning I deserved a shot of tequila, but went with this Cambodian coffee instead! Thank you Kim for taking the time to ask if I wanted it sweeter or stronger. It tasted just right! Not as bitter or extremely sweet as Vietnamese coffee. If you want to get an adorable sweet treat for a coworker or friend's birthday, wedding, divorce, promotion, definitely stop here first!

Support family owned, local businesses! There's a promo going on until end of January where you get a free donut for buying a drink. For those that are lactose intolerant, they have soda or redbull drinks but everything else is made with milk. I wanted the promo so ordered a number 5 rose lavender soda & received a blueberry donut. I cannot justify a $7.50 (sprite canned mixed with rose syrup) and honestly the blueberry donut reminded me of a blueberry cake mix but in a donut form. Sadly their prices are higher by about 50 cents from other shops. I do like their hours of operation from 4:30 to 5 pm and that they have a food menu too.

Came in to grab a treat while I waited for my car to get washed. Got a maple donut that I devoured. It was fluffy and perfect, I could have eaten a dozen. Also tried their strawberry smoothie with boba. It reawakened my love for boba. 10/10 recommend.

It is nice to have a donut shop in the area. The chocolate old fashioned donut was very crisp, which is a plus for me personally. The donut holes and the strawberry glazed donut were average. I appreciate that they are open later than most donut shops and look forward to trying their drinks! They also have Korean street food which is unique for a donut shop. Service was friendly.

After the group run, we all met back to enjoy a drink together! This is a super cute little boba shop, with really cool local art, decor but even a piano and books if you want to hang out. I was able to get a happy hour discount on my drink, and I chose a Zen Garden which is a jasmine milk tea with matcha layered on top, and I added lychee jelly and sea salt foam as well. This was yummy, and a nice big cup size for an iced drink. Also got a card for BOGO Drink 50% off on my next visit. I have my eye on the Banana Matcha, the VIP Vietnamese Imperial Pandan, or the Sampaguita Milk Tea. Neat to learn that the owners are Hmong and Filipino, and they also have events like the Run Club, Car Meet, and even Karaoke Night!

This time their cups are half the size now for the same price as before. Flavor... same thing.... watered down. Heard another customer who came in ask for more matcha. Didn't know that's a thing so I may need to ask for that next time I come back. The large cups they served the matcha in before I saw it is used for their refresher drinks. The boy working at the cashier. He seems nice but might want to work on the customer service skills. No greeting but did let me know to ask if I had questions. He was probably shy. As for the owner, it seems he is involved with the community, which is awesome!!

The manager's approach to problem-solving and their apparent annoyance toward consumers inquiring…read moreabout various product flavors was handled poorly and was unprofessional for someone in a management position. If you cannot resolve a problem, or if it is an ongoing issue, you should escalate it to someone with the expertise and authority to address consumer concerns. Do not wait for customers to approach you after the situation has already deteriorated, especially when a flippant response has shifted the tone of the interaction. Another option would have been to table the conversation for a later time or on a different day until more information was available. What began as a discussion about a product concern quickly became focused on a employee instead of the issue itself. The manager appeared to become frustrated, stated to understand the main concern, yet responded with an unnecessarily intense tone and level of defensiveness. There was considerable deflection, repetition, and what felt like half-truths rather than a sincere effort to work toward a mutual solution. The manager should remember that they represent the Root of Happiness brand. We have been patronizing Root of Happiness for at least 10 years, long before the owners expanded to the Roseville, Midtown, and Rocklin locations. Additionally, over the last few weeks, the Justin's Peanut Butter Cups have seemed unusually dry. It may be the result of a bad batch from the vendor or the effects of extreme weather conditions impacting the product's quality.

I go in, nothing fancy, but the place is clean, and the people were friendly. I didn't know what it is when I walked in, but it's Filipino food! I love Filipino food. I decided to start with the chicken inasal. Grilled chicken with Filipino, spices, vinegar, lemongrass, and rice. He asked me if I would like the vinegar on the side, and I said yes. I put about half of the vinegar on my food, and it was perfect. The chicken was moist, tender, and flavorful, the lemongrass was just the right texture, and I the rice. I think it was Jasmine Rice. I'm not positive, , but it did have a good flavor. I only made it through half the Dish and the other half came home for dinner. I wanted to try one of their teas, so I tried the pandan milk tea with Boba pearls , and it was very good. It had a nutty, slightly vanilla flavor, and there was a little bit of a coconut taste to it too. He asked me what I wanted for my level of sweetness. Since I hadn't had it before, I asked him to suggest, and he said it try it with 75% sweetness. It was perfect. The price for everything were reasonable. The only reason I'm taking off a star, was because of the service. There was only one other person in the restaurant, and it took almost 20 minutes to get my main dish. When I went up to order the tea after my meal, I had to say "hello?" three different times before somebody finally came to the counter. Then, it almost took another 10 minutes to get my tea. The lady did apologize, but 10 minutes? The food is so good, I will definitely come back. I want to try those Ube and cheese lumpia Now those sound good. Next time, I will see if they could do phone orders... They are on DoorDash, but of course, DoorDash charges extra to take out their "cut". I will be back. Thank you.

I picked up my drink across where I ordered and then I picked up my food from a separate place when the device they gave me buzzed. What I ordered: * Chia seed pudding $7 - coconut chia seed pudding with coconut flakes, strawberry jam, and granola. Generously stuffed into a round container. Delicious. Inspires me to make chia seed pudding at home. * Hot earl grey creme tea $4 - I added honey. Perfect balance of citrus and black tea flavors. Came in a big paper cup, but had the option of having it in a tea pot and pouring it myself. Note they have a card surcharge of 2.9%. I was able to find a comfy seat with a round table. There were a lot of people but still enough seating and not too loud inside. The music was relaxing. Loved all the natural light and cozy, earthy vibes. For fellow matcha lovers, I saw a sign they use Mizuba matcha. It was already late afternoon and I had a matcha latte earlier so I chose not to get a matcha latte. If I'm around the area and come back soon though, I'd love to try their seasonal summer offering of the coconut matcha cloud. They also had a pastry case next to the register. The savory items sounded great too, so there's lots of items I'm interested in trying from here. Would recommend if you're looking for a nice, spacious cafe to relax or do some work!
