I wanted to try this place for sometime, and I did. Five stars all the way for the food, I'm taking off one star for the service. I go in, nothing fancy, but the place is clean, and the people were friendly. I didn't know what it is when I walked in, but it's Filipino food! I love Filipino food. I decided to start with the chicken inasal. Grilled chicken with Filipino, spices, vinegar, lemongrass, and rice. He asked me if I would like the vinegar on the side, and I said yes. I put about half of the vinegar on my food, and it was perfect. The chicken was moist, tender, and flavorful, the lemongrass was just the right texture, and I the rice. I think it was Jasmine Rice. I'm not positive, , but it did have a good flavor. I only made it through half the Dish and the other half came home for dinner. I wanted to try one of their teas, so I tried the pandan milk tea with Boba pearls , and it was very good. It had a nutty, slightly vanilla flavor, and there was a little bit of a coconut taste to it too. He asked me what I wanted for my level of sweetness. Since I hadn't had it before, I asked him to suggest, and he said it try it with 75% sweetness. It was perfect. The price for everything were reasonable. The only reason I'm taking off a star, was because of the service. There was only one other person in the restaurant, and it took almost 20 minutes to get my main dish. When I went up to order the tea after my meal, I had to say "hello?" three different times before somebody finally came to the counter. Then, it almost took another 10 minutes to get my tea. The lady did apologize, but 10 minutes? The food is so good, I will definitely come back. I want to try those Ube and cheese lumpia Now those sound good. The menu leans on the pricier side but the drink cup portions are huge in comparison to other matcha places in Sac. - Boracay Breeze matcha ($9, rating: 8/10), matcha with blue spirulina, salted foam/cream and topped with real coconut flakes. Definitely on the sweeter side and was a little hard to finish but that's on me for forgetting to ask for sugar adjustment. - Earth Harmony matcha ($12, rating: 7/10), ube matcha with ube ice cream. More of a dessert than a drinkable matcha as you mostly taste ube, but my friend enjoyed it still! - Sesame nori fries, ($9, rating: 7/10) was hoping this flavor option would be more savory as I'm not a cheese fan and didn't want just plain fries. The fries seemed to be coated with a honey or something sweet. It's in one of the less busy strip malls off Sunrise so there's plenty of easy parking. I appreciate 4estea being open in Rancho as there's not as many Southeast Asian spots on this side of town, especially with an extensive menu like theirs. Finally came back since my friend has been wanting to try this place! They added some new drinks on the menu such as a lavender matcha drink. Since I got their regular matcha latte last time, I got the lavender matcha this time. I also got their fried tofu bites with sweet nori since I enjoyed those last time and also their chicken inasal bowl. The chicken inasal bowl was a bit pricey but so worth it given the portion size of the bowl. The chicken was well seasoned and the amount of rice and chicken they add in the bowl is so much that there will definitely be leftovers. read more

This is another spot that's been on my list to visit, and I finally made time to drive out and try it. It's a bit out of the way for me, but well worth it if you're in the area or passing through. There's plenty of parking in their lot and there were other businesses in the plaza. I was greeted right away and the team here was really friendly. There were some items that weren't available, but they let me know about some favorites and specials. I wanted to order everything but ended up getting the Longsilog ($16.99), Palabok ($14.98), Pork Lumpia ($6.49), Golden Calamansi drink ($6.88), Muscat Verde drink ($6.68), and the Turon Matcha Latte ($11.32). It took a but for everything to be ready, but they packed it up nicely for my to-go order and I was on my way. The food didn't make it far, I had to try the lumpia right away while it was fresh and crispy and it was delicious. Exactly what I'm looking for in pork lumpia. I would order this anytime I visit. Once I got to my destination I tried the rest of the items. For some reason the straws did not want to puncture the plastic lids on the drinks so I had to puncture it with my keys- it was a bit comical trying to puncture the drink top with the straw and just destroying the straws... luckily I managed in the end. The drinks were very refreshing and perfect for our hot summer days. I gifted the Turon Matcha Latte to someone else who said it was sweet but good. I liked the Longsilog a lot, the sausages were delicious, juicy with a hint of sweetness, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. I wish the rice had a stronger garlic flavor- it's one of my favorite parts of the filipino plate meals. The Pancit Palabok was tasty and I liked the shrimp and eggs on top. After trying this though, I think I prefer Pancit Bihon, although the sauciness of the palabok would be great when you're looking for something savory and comforting. I saw this place on Instagram and I've been wanting to try this place! Came here with a friend on a Saturday evening. There a lot of parking in front. The store is a little small but cutely decorated. I was sad to find out that the lechon was not available cuz I was really craving crispy pork belly. I ordered the sisig bowl ($17.96) and the matcha latte ($8.55). Had to wait about 10-15 mins for the food. Matcha latte was good and creamy. It came in a big cup. I've only had sisig once another time. I wasn't a big fan and I thought I could try again to change my mind, but it was still mid for me. I definitely would come back to try the other Matcha drinks because I think the Matcha was actually really good. My friend got the chicken and it was delicious. Came to support my peeps (Filipino) celebrating their 1 year anniversary in business! They had free pancit bihon for everyone, karaoke all day, a photo op, and other lil food samples and surprises for the party. It was our first time, definitely not our last. We were greeted by the friendly owner and just like walking into any Filipino party/household, she offered us the free food right away! There was a food/snack menu on the counter with a couple of the items sold out or unavailable at that moment. I ordered the halo halo espesyal, chicken inasal, and the golden calamansi drink. The halo halo was layered with all the usual "mix mix" ingredients, and topped with a big scoop of soft and creamy ube ice cream. It was delicious! The chicken inasal was a good portion, served with rice, a side of cucumber, tomato, onion, and a vinegar dip. So good and comforting. My husband liked his calamansi drink. It was tart and refreshing. I loved our first visit to 4estea, and can't wait to try more food and drinks on our next visit. Happy 1st Anniversary! We brought my parents here for lunch after attending mass and to celebrate my dad's birthday (he loves Filipino food). Maybe I'm just overly biased because I'm a big pandan flavoring fan, but this halo-halo is sooo goooood lol. Super bold pandan taste as there is no skimping on the silky pandan ice cream. Nice added texture from the jelly and the pinipig. The shredded cheese on top is *chef's kiss.* It balances the sweet drink with some saltiness (same functionality as the shredded cheese on top of ensaymada, IYKYK). As for other things that I tried here, the lychee ka! is alright; tastes pretty much like milk mixed with lychee juice drained from a lychee fruit can (a tad too sweet for me because of the syrupy taste). Average tofu bites with sriracha mayo dipping sauce. The banana turonitos are very cute lol miniature turon pieces that actually quite pack a punch in banana taste (so flavorful that I didn't even really need the accompanying brown sugar langka dipping sauce). Today was my 2nd visit since they were first fairly newly opened. After my first visit I wanted to wait till I came again before doing a review because I ordered drink for others instead of myself. However, I did ask how the drinks were for those I bought it for. I will say the drinks were mid/bland at the time & only the matcha latte was given a good review. I remember purchasing a fruit tea & a mango sago. Fruit tea was watered down and mango sago was eh.. Not to mention, they are SLOW! I can see they would get busy with a flow of customers coming in but they are lacking a swift service. This second visit I would have to say the same slow service. When arrived there was another couple in front of us. They seemed to have been waiting a bit for an employee to come out to take their orders. Idk how many workers were working in the back but I've had to at least seen 3 for the amount of time I waited for 1 singular drink. Really not sure how things are being ran back there?? But definitely my biggest complaint has to be they are slow. If they moved a little more fast I would have an overall better experience. I waited 15 mins for 1 drink. There was the couple before me who did order 2 snack items & drink so I get the wait but still... what???? I been elsewhere where snacks would normally take longer but at least drinks are being pushed out first for quick service & customer satisfaction on wait times. Today I ordered a matcha haze. Matcha was incredibly yummy! It was def on the stronger side & a fine gritty texture, if you're into that. Perhaps the matcha could be mixed more to not have the texture with the aftertaste. It wasn't too sweet but the lavender foam placed on top was where the sweetness. Good balance esp with it being strong matcha taste. Workers are lovely though! I was so excited to try this place, but was disappointed by their drinks. :/ Our drinks were SO extremely sweet that we could not taste any flavor other than sweetener. We ordered the mango sago and house milk tea with coffee jelly. I usually like my boba drinks in the 50-75% sweet range. I ordered my house milk tea as 50% sweet and the drink literally tasted like 150% sweet!!! I couldn't drink it at all and had to throw it away. They put a generous amount of coffee jelly/toppings, so I would say less topping if you don't like too much. My grandma also said her halo halo was too sweet. :( In her words: "Masyadong matamis!!!" On the bright side, the snacks were good. In particular, the fish balls and the sauce were very nostalgic of my trips to the Philippines when I was younger. Also, the plain french fries were perfectly crispy and salted. We came on a sunny Saturday afternoon and we didn't wait very long for our drinks and food. It came out pretty fast, probably within 20 minutes for 4 drinks and 2 food items. They have an expansive drink menu that made me excited to come back again to try more. While in Rancho we had to stop by 4estea and check them out! Located in a big strip mall by Grocery Outlet, it's super easy to find and there's a ton of parking! It's a smaller shop but there's actually a lot of seating. It's designed nice! We were immediately greeted by a guy working. He was super busy working on orders which gave us time to look over the menu. My youngest begged for French Fries. It came with a dipping sauce and we asked for a side of catsup. They were delish. My oldest ordered the Matcha Latte. She said it was creamy and definitely quality!!!!! I ordered the Yema Latte (made with a Filipino custard). Originally it came in the tall skinny cup, but now a shorter cup. How is so much shrink-flation already happening :'( ?! Also, it's way too sweet now. Before it was refreshing, now I'm struggling to drink it (like trying to drink condensed milk or something). Much less sago as well. It went from crave-worthy to extremely disappointing. - they still need to hire more people..at least to take orders so they can focus on filling the orders. I tried to call in an order, was told I needed to be put on hold for 5 min but it ended up being almost 15 min and I got there before anyone even picked back up. So, I just ordered in person. Was told it would be ~15 min, more like 20+ but it was honestly faster than I expected. It appears they had two new people helping in the back, but one more to stay up front would be ideal. - I still never got a receipt.. but other people did. Idk why they always forget to give me a receipt... - finally got to try some food items: - tofu bites ($7.89): I love salt and pepper tofu, so I like to try it whenever I see it on the menu. The tofu itself is flavorless, definitely could use some salt. It's also a bit burnt tasting, luckily I like my food extra crispy. It's decent with the sweet chili sauce and has a nice crunch, but if you don't like sweet chili sauce then don't get the tofu. - longsilog (~$15): surprisingly larger portion than expected; could be shared between 2 people. 4 longanisa, 2 eggs, rice, and chopped up tomato. Garlic rice lacked flavor, but longanisa was good. I'm not used to it including tomato, so that was kinda weird to me. I wish they offered a half portion. Overall, not happy with already increased prices and still very slow service. Annddd, since the mango sago changed (for the worse), I'm def in no rush to come back. I'd only come back to redeem some of the deals on the stamp card thing I got from them, but I hope they change the mango sago back to the original recipe they had. read more

Yema is similar to butterscotch and imo a difficult flavor but kudos because I feel like I haven't seen a latte like this anywhere else. HALO-HALO ESPESYAL It had all the works and I like how the ube halaya was along the cup and that the leche flan was at the bottom of the cup when these ingredients are typically at the top. KWEK-KWEK Brought me back to my days when I was in the Philippines for school. It was yummy and pretty authentic and the sauce was good. Just wish there was also some suka (vinegar) as well. Not a grab and go spot, expect a very long wait. Very understaffed. Took forever to get one item. The line gets long with no person behind the counter for extended periods. Not very pleasant when it's loud inside and the sound bounces everywhere. The leche flan in the halo halo is legit though. It has a hint of either dayap or calamansi. Yay for a new Filipino owned tea shop! There aren't enough around here so it was really cool to see a lot of familiar Filipino drinks and flavors on the menu. We got to meet the owners too and they were so awesome, I want to come back and support their new venture as much as possible! It was so hard to choose from the specialty items! I picked the mango sago which was very creamy and refreshing. Sago was cooked perfectly. My husband's Yema coffee was also really good! You have to mix in the yema very well so you can get more of the flavor. If they can do a yema cream on top I bet it'll be even more flavorful! We also got to try the cantaloupe melon juice, which is a nice non-caffeinated option for our kids, but I also really liked it and can imagine enjoying it on a hot day! They have some snack food available but not everything yet since it's only soft opening. The lumpia was classic and so crispy on the outside. We also had their sweet nori fries which were my favorite!! It's sweet from the drizzle on top and savory from the sprinkled nori seaweed. They are planning to have silog rice plates soon so we will definitely be back for that. The interior is very nicely decorated! It's small but they made the most of the space and there are lots of tables and seats. Hoping for lots of success here at 4estea! I really wanted to like this place because I always try to support Filipino businesses, but overall I left pretty disappointed mainly because of the pricing and portions. The sisig bowl was a 1/5 for me. It was almost $20 for a small bowl and it didn't really taste like sisig. It leaned more toward bopis and just didn't match what I was expecting. The portion size also didn't feel worth the cost at all. The pandan sago was a 4/5. It was on the sweeter side but still good and enjoyable. The calamansi drink was a 2/5. I even ordered it with 100% sugar but it still didn't really taste like calamansi to me. The mango sago was good, but also a bit too sweet for my preference. Overall I like the idea of supporting the business and the menu has potential, but I personally can't justify the pricing. Came here for post kbbq so my review is based on the desserts my group ordered. Sago at Gulaman Americano - it was very sweet. Premade so we couldn't control the sweetness. They did offer to give us an extra shot of espresso to help balance it out but we respectfully decline. Still good nonetheless. Halo-Halo - was packed full of ingredients! The flan was at the bottom so I had to really mix to get what I wanted. Lol The ube jam added a nice texture and surprisingly helped balance out the sweetness. The ube ice cream hit. I ate it first. It was a good balance of ice, milk and ingredients. I'll be back for more esp. when the temps rise. Buko Pandan Halo-Halo - it was refreshing and definitely has a unique flavor that I'm sure most people aren't too familiar with. We really liked it. Wish there was more cheese to help balance out the sweetness. We finished this no problem. Overall the three desserts were good. It would be great to be able to control the sweetness somehow - they were all three really really sweet. Thankful they opened up in Rancho. It'll now be my go to spot for dessert post KBBQ at Gangnam. The cafe is small. The interior is nice - well designed. I didn't notice any bathrooms so keep that in mind when visiting. There's a new and cute little boba cafe right in a plaza in between grocery outlet and Gangnam Ave. The decor is clean, warm and inviting and the service was welcoming as well, they were very attentive and allowed us to adjust our sweetness I got the tosilog bowl for myself and a mango Sago drink with half sugar: Tosilog bowl was a 9/10 Rice was perfectly cooked, I would prefer it to be more garlic heavy though- meat was nicely cooked slightly sweet slightly salty with two wonderfully fried eggs that has runny yolk, I do wish there was something a little more green on the side there was only a sprinkle of tomatoes onions and green onions, they should also have some soy sauce or fish sauce or something on the side that you could adjust the salt levels with, additionally vinegar or lime/calamansi would seal the deal on this dish, but overall still very good Mango Sago 9/10 My drink was really good too, comparable to ume tea or tomo tea houses mango solago drinks you could tell that at 100% sweetness it would probably be too sweet if you do not have a sweet tooth I got my partner the sweet nori tofu and the muscat grape drink Both of these were a 10/10 The tofu was super fresh crispy and perfect ly seasoned. I got a sip of her drink and it was perfect! We would definitely return to try out other drinks and snacks! read more
