We agreed on a price through the phone and I confirmed an appointment at 9:00 AM. I showed up around 8:50 AM to beat the rush. By 9:20, the place was still closed but the surrounding autobody shops were filled with customers. I texted and called but no response. Same thing at 9:40. I eventually gave up and left. I live about 15 minutes away so it wasn't a huge inconvenience but it was since I had confirmed the time with him, it was disappointing. I tried calling again later at 10 and 11 AM. I made online reservation through Yelp to arrive at 2pm today. Got the appointment confirmation. Went to the center at 1:55 and the place was closed. I called the center and the person who answered the call responded that they will not be able to help and he can only do it tomorrow which completely interrupted my schedule. My family has always been loyal to local businesses who prioritize service. With my local smog guy selling his shop and none of the friends with a recommendation I settled on using Yelp. Manteiv was one of the first to reply. Their price was very, and very reasonable, their availability was very flexible and they were very local to me in the east side of San Jose. I was out and about and decided to stop by for the smog and thankfully they were free to take me in. Andy was very friendly, pointed out some work I could do on my own (my battery needed some cleaning) and very efficient. I was out of there quickly (which is a shame since in the short time I was there I got some work done lol). The smog certificate was electronically sent to the dmv.
