I wanted to love this place but it was very disorganized and when it's crowded which it usually is because it's cheapest place I've found it's going to be hard maneuvering your car around the space. I was there before one of the other customers but ended up getting serviced after them. I will say the pricing is great , just mention Yelp and it should be $40 for smog check that's including the certificate. If you don't price will be $48. Our vehicle was a 2015 RAV4, your vehicle will vary as per all places. If you are looking for the best price, it'll probably be here $40 for Smog if you mention yelp. But if you just want to be in n out without hassle and chaos, you'll want to go elsewhere. This place is located behind Napa auto parts so pull in their entrance and go towards the back. I was blown off by another smog check place stating that if I didn't like the price of $55.00 then go somewhere else and was overall treated very poorly, well I stumbled on smoguys star station that charged more and wanted my business. The Vietnamese gentleman that did my smog was very friendly got me in and out passed my smog charged me $65.00 which was more than the place I was blown off at showing you that money was not an issue its the customer service and how you are treated and I was infact treated very well here so thank you! I came in around 8:30 AM for a smog check on my Mercedes. There was only one car ahead of me, and he finished up quickly. My turn came right after, and the whole process took less than five minutes--super fast! The shop is tucked away right behind Napa Auto Parts, so it's a little tricky to find at first, but worth it once you do. The gentleman running the place was very polite and professional. He's an older Chinese gentleman who honestly reminded me of my own dad, but with better English. I paid $48 by credit card for my V8 Mercedes, which I thought was very reasonable. This is a tiny, no-frills test-only smog station, but the service is honest, quick, and friendly. I'll definitely recommend this spot and wish the owner lots of luck with his business! read more

Got smog checks here multiple times but their pricing and coupons are misleading. The asterisk* on their "most vehicles" coupon means that they can arbitrarily charge more depending on what type of car you drive. I have a basic 2012 Porsche (OBD2 vehicle so it's mostly just a plug in, check readiness and do a visual inspection like any other car) and they said I couldn't use any coupon because "the discount is not for cars like this." I've taken my other Toyota and other Japanese cars here and had no problem with the coupon. The pricing might as well state "coupon only good for specific makes/models or for cars that cost less than $_____ " or something. Overall ok service since they did smog my car. Giving two stars though for the misleading pricing that feels very targeted against people in their weekend drivers. read more

Needed a smog certificate to sell my 2008 Honda Accord. This place was run by an older Vietnamese gentleman and when I saw this I thought oh boy, we were gonna need to wait a while. We showed up about 5-10 minutes after opening but there was already 5-6 people there ahead of us. This is definitely one of the most efficient businesses I have ever seen being run as a one man show. He really knows his stuff and exactly what he is doing. People were constantly moving in and out and on with their day. We will be bringing our cars here from now on. I was fortunate enough to get off work early in order to complete my smog check. I have even been coming for the past few years but, this time was different. Every other time before today when I have came to the establishment it has always been slow lucky for me. But this time soon after I arrived various Vietnamese families got there shortly after me my guess to do the same thing I was doing to get a smog check. The owner had just pulled my car into the bay, he gets out and tells me no good, doesn't have enough power. I asked him politely what that meant. He replied with hurry up and leave. I told him is there a problem with my car? He replied "no, just go" I then asked politely, what's is the issue I've been here in the past I haven't changed anything to my car? What's wrong? He then replied "no you haven't, get in your car and go. Not only have I recommended this place to dozens of coworkers, friends and family. But this is the type of treatment you get for asking simple questions as a repeated customer. Glad to say I won't be coming here again. Wasted my time but I saved my money! read more

I saw the $40 Yelp special for this location and called up the business to check. The gentleman who answered had an accent so I replied with a similar enough accent that he asked me if I know Mandarin. No, Canto. So he spoke a little Canto. (Think he's more proficient in Mandarin) Yep, $40, go ahead and bring the car, etc. Arrived when no customer was there yet so my car was worked on right away, the smog check was done very fast. I think less than 10 minutes, maybe 5 minutes? Was definitely faster than other smog checks I've had done in the past. I will come here again. Pricing Note: The $40 Yelp special is for if you're paying by cash. I didn't have that on me so ended up being $45 on my credit card. Another customer (sounded like he's a repeat customer who brings his family's vehicles to this place) who came in right after me had an older vehicle and I heard his smog check estimate as $60. read more

This place is quick and efficient. I've gone here several times and even referred my family here. Sadly I only get the $40 deal when referring to Yelp. But this time I had a nice conversation with him and told him that I've referred many people and came back several times. Not only did he charge me the normal price $48 but I figured small businesses would prefer cash. Gave him a $50 and he kept the whole thing. .... I awkwardly waited for my change but he just gave me my receipt and told me I was done. I was very confused because I forget if they expect tips with this type of service. I was reluctant to ask so I just awkwardly walked away and let him keep the extra $2. I found this smog check place through Reddit and saw a lot of good reviews, so I figured I'd give it a try. I went in on a Friday around 12:30 PM and was 3rd in line. I drive a Honda Prelude with a California CARB-compliant aftermarket intake (with the sticker), and I've had the car for nearly 10 years. It's always passed smog in its current condition. After waiting about 30 minutes, the guy working there started questioning me about the car. That's fine--I understand the process--but then he began commenting (in Vietnamese) on how old the car was, how many miles it had, and how it was "falling apart." I laughed a bit, thinking he was joking, but his tone never changed. He asked about my catalytic converter, and I told him it's original and hasn't been changed. With a sarcastic tone, he said something like, "Maybe someone stole it and swapped it out when you weren't looking." I couldn't tell if he was joking or serious, but it definitely didn't come off as professional. When he couldn't see the number on the cat, he raised his voice and said I didn't know my own car. Then he told me he didn't want to get under it to check unless I paid $80+. What bothered me most was that he had already told me the price was $60 when I arrived. Then he just changed it without warning. When I asked why the price went up, especially since getting under the car is part of the job, he snapped back with "Do you want to do it or not?" At that point, I was done. I said no thanks and left. As I walked away, he called out that I wasted his time and that he did all that work for nothing. Maybe he is a nice guy on other days, and maybe he was having a bad one--but that doesn't excuse how rude and unprofessional he was today. The day I went here one of the workers was having a bad day. I don't know if it's the owner or just an employee but whoever I ran into was unfathomably rude. I went to get my cars Smog checked and the first red flag was that he had no clue how to operate the latches on my vehicle. After popping the trunk and gas tank he finally popped my hood and immediately stated "your car is modded I can't do anything". Mind you this car has NEVER been modded, everything from the wheels to the radiator hose is original from when it came off the lot. I tried to tell him it was not modded and he immediately got aggressive and shut me up and told me to leave. I got in my car and started to pull out of the establishment when he continued to yell and berate me demanding I get out of the car. I did and he demanded I give him the keys so he can drive it into the parking lot. He then got in my car, put it in reverse and absolutely FLOORED IT shooting my car out of the garage and swerving to the lot. At this point I was absolutely astonished at what was happening but before I could say anything he threw the keys at me and said "learn to drive" before storming off. It was very apparent he was upset before I arrived at the smog place but I don't care, you can NOT treat your customers like that because you are having a tough day. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy and if the owners are reading this, I can't remember his name but the older Asian gentleman that works at your establishment needs an attitude check and to be reminded he can't force people out of their car. Would give a 0/10 if I could. Not to mention I had to wait an hour for him to get to me and he was working by himself (probably why he was so emotional) read more

I was in and out in about 15 minutes and everything went smoothly. There was no wait and the man was very professional. We had a brief talk about the catalytic converters thefts going around because he seen my shield around the cat. These car tasks can be pretty daunting for people with older cars because it can be a pain if you have to fix stuff to get the car to pass which can cost tons of money, so having a place that you can go in and out really quick without hassles was a relief.
