Their quality has reached zero in my opin. Ordered a bean/cheese burrito and stuffed chicken soipapilla yesterday. $23.00. Burrito beans so dry and tasted like canned Rositas. Sparse cheese. Had to add more at home. Soipapilla same. Very dry, hrdly any cheese, brown guacamole. They used to be my go-to. This was northside. If you want a great stuffed soipapilla - they have been there 20 years- go to the Soipapilla Factory in Pojoaque. Wont go back there again, waste of money read more

This fast food Mexican place was a great stop for our lunch in Toas. Very clean, Love the picture on the walls of who I am assuming is Mante. The staff were all very friendly. I had the Trujillo and my husband had the chicken fajita burrito. Came out quickly and was great! Our friends said the fries were fantastic. read more

Had a pretty bad experience tonight. Went to get a salad tonight at Mante's ... lettuce, barely any cheese, and lettuce. No taco shell. No croutons. No onions. Practically chicken and lettuce. Oh, also my ranch cup was filled 1/3 and when asked for more ranch I had to pay .82cents. Bad food and charging for extra dressing on a salad when 1/3 a cup was given. Never be back. Hope y'all go broke. Food is crap anyways. Can't wait to get back to TX where service and quality matter. read more

Food was OK. I got a burrito. Wife got 3 taco meal. Daughter got chili cheese fries. None of it was really spectacular. I think Taco Bell would have been just as good, if not better. Not bad, just not good. The kids working the drive-thru seemed very confused. My daughter ordered a Dr. Pepper to drink and he kept trying to make a root beer float for her. No thanks, just the Dr. Pepper. Wife and I ordered Coke Zeroes. He gave us our food and my daughter's drink and said have a nice night. Um, we have two more drinks. "What did you have?" Two Coke Zeroes. "OK, so I gave you the Dr. Pepper....what are you missing?" Um, the 2 Coke Zeroes...took 3 tries before he figured out we were missing 2 drinks. They were very unsure if we had the right food order, too. Fortunately, it all worked out. Again, nothing real bad about the place. Just nothing to write home about. I was hoping for some really good Mexican food. I mean, we are in New Mexico, right? Oh well, we'll keep trying. read more

The Trujillo burrito was scrumptious. A Chile relleno blanketed by a mound of cheese (grilled on their flat top), topped with ground beef, guacamole, red chile and sour cream. Rolled in a flour tortilla. Our fishing guide recommended this place. There were several construction workers who were in line before us and said this was their best burrito. read more

We went to the south side location near Rancho de Taos. Oh lord, this place has the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. I will be dreaming about the green chile it is so good!!! We returned the following morning to get a regular (not smothered) version of the burrito and it was even better! read more

First of all, when I don't see any salsas, sauces, no fresh anything like most good Mexican restaurants have, it's a huge red flag. I ordered the Trujillo a fried chili relleno burrito with beef, sour cream and guacamole. The only thing resembling salsa was some old bottle of Cholula,, no fresh herbs, onions no Pico de Gallo, the burrito had very little guacamole, no sour cream, it was extremely oily, and unfortunately, tasteless. It was a tasteless pile of mush. I had high hopes for this place, the counter woman was very friendly, the ambiance is cute, but the food was gross. My husband got a beef, cheese, bean burrito, with fries. Another tasteless pile of mush. Wow, we've had better "Mexican" food at Taco Bell. What a shame read more

Got a smothered burrito and I eat half it had no meat..I opened the rest and just beans and cheese..Taco Bell would have been better..

Relleno plate was completely covered in cheese that had been broiled to the point that it was brown and hard. Cheese covered the entire plate and I couldn't even see the rellenos. Rellenos were stuffed with cheddar cheese instead of white cheese, batter was not light and fluffy. the green chile was practically nonexistent. They were not freshly made. The plate was a cheesy soupy mess and super salty. read more

This place was recommended by a friend. My experience was, a little sub par. I ordered a three taco combo. This included the tacos, beans, and Spanish rice. The tacos were hard (crispy) and filled with a generous amount of beef. I thought the beef tasted a little "off." The beans were not refried (which is fine) and did not have any cheese. The Spanish rice was sort of sweet tasting, which threw me off, a bit. I was not impressed with the beef, beans, nor the rice. I also tasted their frito pie, which seemed good. We ordered takeout from here on line and got a confirmation email on our order. When I pulled in to pick it up they were closed. I called the phone number provided but no answer. The worst part - they stilled charged my credit card $88 for the order! I have spent the last week calling and calling but they never answer, I sent a message through their website and even called the other location to try to get this resolved. I finally gave up and submitted it to the bank. They basically STOLE $88 from me! Do not give these crooks your business! read more

So, I don't usually eat ground beef, but the Trujillo for great reviews, so I decided to try it. Y'all, it was nasty. Just really wet and all of the guac and sour cream sank to the bottom making a huge mess. But my partner and daughter for the Lucy and the chicken quesadillas, and those were both pretty good. Just paid over $9 for a very small chicken burrito. South side closed. Will not even be enough for an entree. Cold as well .They need to do better especially for working locals. They did not offer reimbursement such as a free replacement. Very disappointed. read more

I like the food, only ate inside once and it was clean. Staff is friendly and helpful from my experiences here. Mostly go through the drive thru, watch out for the pot hole! This isn't fancy fare, but I gave them four stars instead of three because they are my go to place for a fast tasty lunch and I am always happy with my food. read more

Placed an order a day ahead for a lunch meeting, 18 people to feed. The order amount was $184.00. Lots of the order was wrong, some of the order was not there. The food was dry and some a bit burnt. Worst was the presentation. One burrito plate looked like it had been dropped and scraped off the floor. With over 24 hour notice and the amount paid it was a huge disappointment. read more

We tried Mante's restaurant on the south side of Taos. The food was great, the price excellent. Now for the bad: Walk in no greeting, didn't wipe off the table had to ask. Didn't ask if we would like water or something to drink. We had to ask for both. Young man waiter { about 15} no training what so ever! We had to ask for everything. This place is run like a take out restaurant, not a sit-down cafe. Needs a good cleaning, bathroom, tables, and floors. On the other hand, if you want takeout, go to the one near Taos Fly shop. Holy cow!! My local friends recommend this place for a to-go burrito on the way out to see the Rio Grande Gorge. I think we ALL got the Trujillo which is a chile rellenos burrito with beef. If I could I would eat one of these every day!! It was so friggin good! On too of being amazing, it was also super affordable. Everyone inside was so friendly, and service was super quick. They have a drive thru, but we went inside and we were in and out in no time. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in Taos. read more

I have been eating Mante's since I was little and it was located in a food van in a parking lot. This is my go to for New Mexican fast food. I especially love to stop here for breakfast on my way home from the night shift and the staff has always been extraordinarily friendly. read more

Love to eat the Trujillo meal at Mante's. This is one of my first stops when visiting Taos. The food is delicious and it's served by friendly staff. Find somewhere else.. the menu online is outdated and it's more expensive. Water cup is $2.50, coke machine mostly syrupy drinks. Corn dog ($5-sonic is usually 99 cents), hard and not good, burger not good either. Fries were the best thing. Chicken tacos very blah. Chicken enchilada plate not too bad but not the best either. I had to ask for silverware they only gave me 1 serving instead of two. The salsa was something out of a jar and looked watered down. Guacamole? This place might be cheap but it's not even worth the money if you are a vegetarian. A burrito with sour cream and guacamole was 6 dollars for a burrito that was tiny and don't even make me full and they skimped on the guacamole and sour cream which cost extra. Find a better breakfast burro, or breakfast period. I dare you. The house coffee is Pinon, they generally have Kona too. Two of my fave coffees. Breakfast burrito = red or green chile, or xmas, hash browns (really what separates this burro, gives it crunch) egg, and chorizo = my fave. read more

I went to the south side location to get some quick food before a movie. For some reason it took fifteen minutes to get my change, and then when I bit into my burger there was a long black hair in it. I guess if I go back to Mante's I will stick to the original location. read more
