While in Taos, we stopped here for dinner. The service was okay, but the outdoor seating area was so neat! Their salsa & guac was great. We had the enchiladas and the steak fajitas. Both were very good. I had some sort of strawberry Fresca drink which was SO good! Very authentic mexican food.

We arrived here for an early dinner on a Saturday and got lucky with no wait unlike another local spot, where we didn't want to spend that time. It did fill up with diners pretty quickly after our arrival. They have a fun looking bar area too. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality, service, and atmosphere. The pomegranate margarita and chips and salsa started things off nicely. It isn't the best salsa, gives a little "canned tomato sauce" vibe as the base but no biggie. We enjoyed the nachos, burritos, and tacos and nothing was left on our plates. Our server was very friendly as were other wait staff who brought us our food. Highly recommend!!

Remains of an excellent meal: enchiladas and tamales

Parking lot is directly in front of the restaurant and this restaurant is located behind the main Square. I said inside as the outside was a little warm, but they have a beautiful patio area gray for cooler weather. I sat next to a couple from the great state of Texas, who are discussing what they had for dinner and that they really enjoy it as a result, the exact same item which was a strip steak on top two cheese enchiladas served with pico de gallo sour cream and guacamole. The service was very efficient. It took no time at all to get my meal and I was able to get out quickly which my case was working since I had a long drive back to Cimmeron New Mexico

Azteca is a must try if you find yourself in Taos around dinner time! When the weather permits ask for the patio! This trip the weather had us sitting inside, but it was still a great meal. The food here is some of the best in Nee Mexico. Always great service and great prices. The Mar Ye Tierra is simply one of the best dishes anywhere! I can't explain it, you've just got to try it. Simply a place I always recommend to friends and family.

We came here while traveling in Taos and it did not disappoint. We started with the ceviche app and WOW so fresh and tasty and im not the biggest fan of fish.I couldn't get enough. I had the plate you see but forgot the name( MY BAD) it was so large and I had to take 1/2 home with me. It was basically a beef type quesadilla but had another name I couldn't pronounce (LOL) The house Margherita was 8.00 and generous portion. The staff was friendly (ALL OF THEM!) seems like a family owned place which is always a win for this Yelper. When you want authentic New Mexican food and you're in Taos- give this spot a try!

    Chicken Nachos

Great food, great service! Chicken nachos were huge and could only eat 1/3 of them. Husband had beef enchiladas with rice and beans. The chips and salsa were an "appetizer" but the salsa was fantastic. Recommend the Azteca Bar & Grill, if you are eating in Taos. You can eat inside or outside, based on preference.

Wow. Didn't expect to be blown away, but the food here in this restaurant in Taos was excellent! The enchiladas were tasty and hit the spot. But what really impressed was the red trout. It was cooked perfectly. The chipotle sauce was delicious. Veggies were seasoned nicely. All-round 5-Star plate!

Outsid Outside Mexico this might be the best Mexican food I've ever had. From the guacamole and salsa to the combination plate, which had hands-down, the best taco I've ever eaten along with a very tasty enchilada, and by far above superior tamale, even the rice and beans were incredibly good and last, but not least the service if I could give six stars for the service I would.

Beautiful fountain in the center of the outdoor dining courtyard area.

A local recommended here. We were glad since it's tucked away off the street and we might have missed it. The tiny strip mall set up has an ample parking lot in front of it. Enter into a beautiful garden courtyard, complete with traditional southwest Sandia Ristras, a fountain and shaded, quaint garden furniture. Service was top notch. Our waiter seemed to anticipate our needs before we asked in a great way. We had huaraches and a chicken Caesar salad. The salad is huge and you'll get a full seasoned chicken breast. Yum!

    Ceviche Tostada-you get two!

She even gave us a heads up that she was also handling a 7-top table and made sure we could get our order in before theirs since it was just the two of us. Thought that was really thoughtful and great service. We started with the salsa, queso, guacamole, and a Caesar salad for appetizers and everything was delicious. A great way to kick off the meal. For the main course we both went with the steak fajitas. The steak was a little on the tough side, but overall still really good and heavily seasoned. The portion is generous too. One order could easily be split between two people. It comes with rice, beans, cheese, pico, and three tortillas. The restaurant itself is super charming. It's inside the historic Taos Inn and you can really feel the history in the space. The atmosphere alone makes the experience memorable. Would highly recommend checking out Doc Martin's if you're visiting Taos. Great service, great atmosphere, and a solid meal.

Nice ambience with the white tablecloth in the building looks very nice. Now for the food: I'm afraid it fell short all around. We split the meal and the roasted lamb shank unfortunately was not hot, only warm. The bowl that it was presented in was extremely hot and Kelly warned us. I needed to send that shank back to be warmed up, which she pleasantly accommodating my request and apologized. When it came out, it still was not very hot, but she tried. Our roasted beef salad was average, the vinaigrette was tangy, but not overpowering, the cheese may have been fresco or cotijo. The pine nuts could've been roasted, just a few seconds longer for flavor. Big disappointment was the French onion soup. Only because I've had French onion soup in Paris, where it was amazing. The soup was also not hot! French onion soup needs to be hot... The cheese was not melted or toasted. The croutons were below average the caramelization of the onions was good, but the broth was again only warm. If you've ever had French onion soup, you puncture the cheesy sometimes bubbling top and it is like a volcano. Not here. There you have it.

As we walked up to the door, there was a sign posted about them being short staffed and possibly not able to serve everyone without a reservation, but we decided to ask. I'm glad we did. (And I hope others go ahead and ask as well). We were able to get a table for two and this place was full of character. They lit the old school candle on the table, played old time mix of music, had table cloths on each table. It was very sweet and lovely. We had an official server come to our table right away and drop off menus. Then we had (I think), the owner of the restaurant stop by to talk to us for a little bit. Later I believe we had Stella herself deliver food and talk to us. We ordered light meals because we had a late lunch. I ordered a salad with chicken on it and it was delicious. They tried to present it well and succeeded. It was fresh and tasty, too. Hubs ordered lasagna, which came with a side of garlic bread. Although he thought his lasagna was a little thin in layers, the taste of the sauce was very, very good. We did not order dessert, but we thought all of them looked really delicious. If you find yourself in Taos New Mexico, with nowhere to eat, I would definitely give this sort of lonely looking corner restaurant a try.
