Ribeye with baked potato, and sauted veggies with side of guac, and salad

We stumbled onto this restaurant and thought we give it a shot! We came here on a saturday where they make Carne Guisada (only on the weekends), ceivche, and Ribeye with baked potato, and sauted veggies with side of guac, and salad. I simply loved that we had homemade tortilla wraps on the side. It just went well with everything. I would definitely come back to try other dishes! The Ceviche was a bit overly tart imo. So if you don't mind that sour punch then definitely go for it. But was a bit overwhelming. Still good though with the chips. Service was a bit busy but overall friendly!

We arrived here for an early dinner on a Saturday and got lucky with no wait unlike another local spot, where we didn't want to spend that time. It did fill up with diners pretty quickly after our arrival. They have a fun looking bar area too. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality, service, and atmosphere. The pomegranate margarita and chips and salsa started things off nicely. It isn't the best salsa, gives a little "canned tomato sauce" vibe as the base but no biggie. We enjoyed the nachos, burritos, and tacos and nothing was left on our plates. Our server was very friendly as were other wait staff who brought us our food. Highly recommend!!

While in Taos, we stopped here for dinner. The service was okay, but the outdoor seating area was so neat! Their salsa & guac was great. We had the enchiladas and the steak fajitas. Both were very good. I had some sort of strawberry Fresca drink which was SO good! Very authentic mexican food.

Parking lot is directly in front of the restaurant and this restaurant is located behind the main Square. I said inside as the outside was a little warm, but they have a beautiful patio area gray for cooler weather. I sat next to a couple from the great state of Texas, who are discussing what they had for dinner and that they really enjoy it as a result, the exact same item which was a strip steak on top two cheese enchiladas served with pico de gallo sour cream and guacamole. The service was very efficient. It took no time at all to get my meal and I was able to get out quickly which my case was working since I had a long drive back to Cimmeron New Mexico

Azteca is a must try if you find yourself in Taos around dinner time! When the weather permits ask for the patio! This trip the weather had us sitting inside, but it was still a great meal. The food here is some of the best in Nee Mexico. Always great service and great prices. The Mar Ye Tierra is simply one of the best dishes anywhere! I can't explain it, you've just got to try it. Simply a place I always recommend to friends and family.

We came here while traveling in Taos and it did not disappoint. We started with the ceviche app and WOW so fresh and tasty and im not the biggest fan of fish.I couldn't get enough. I had the plate you see but forgot the name( MY BAD) it was so large and I had to take 1/2 home with me. It was basically a beef type quesadilla but had another name I couldn't pronounce (LOL) The house Margherita was 8.00 and generous portion. The staff was friendly (ALL OF THEM!) seems like a family owned place which is always a win for this Yelper. When you want authentic New Mexican food and you're in Taos- give this spot a try!

Wow. Didn't expect to be blown away, but the food here in this restaurant in Taos was excellent! The enchiladas were tasty and hit the spot. But what really impressed was the red trout. It was cooked perfectly. The chipotle sauce was delicious. Veggies were seasoned nicely. All-round 5-Star plate!

Outsid Outside Mexico this might be the best Mexican food I've ever had. From the guacamole and salsa to the combination plate, which had hands-down, the best taco I've ever eaten along with a very tasty enchilada, and by far above superior tamale, even the rice and beans were incredibly good and last, but not least the service if I could give six stars for the service I would.

    Chicken Nachos

Great food, great service! Chicken nachos were huge and could only eat 1/3 of them. Husband had beef enchiladas with rice and beans. The chips and salsa were an "appetizer" but the salsa was fantastic. Recommend the Azteca Bar & Grill, if you are eating in Taos. You can eat inside or outside, based on preference.

Beautiful fountain in the center of the outdoor dining courtyard area.

Finally we figured it had been put on the wrong side of the Main Street so we went the other way and ended up hungry and ready for a drink and dinner. The only negative is that I couldn't get a margarita other than the wine margaritas they have. Since there is a sweet and sour mix in them I went for a white wine instead and it was perfect for the day. We ordered our drinks and chips and guacamole to get started while we looked at the menu. Our server was super and we sat on the patio in the shade which was lovely. There was plenty of shade for the hot day. To stave off our hunger while we looked at the menu we ordered the chips and salsa with guacamole. The salsa was fabulous as was the rest but I had to comment on the salsa because so often these days it's just too tomato-y or bland. This was flavorful and had a bit of spice. For dinner, we ordered the steak tampiquena and I would get it again. Savory, perfectly cooked and hearty. Check this place out if you are visiting!

They have a very nice outside patio with umbrellas and also an indoor dining area. The bathroom is inside the kitchen, so you will see them cooking if you have to go. Luckily we arrived before the place got completely packed. I ordered the chicken blue corn enchiladas with green chile and an over medium egg on top. This came with posole and beans on the side. All this for $16. The enchiladas were stacked and they were packed with chicken. A very nice bite to the chile and egg yolk completed the flavors. Posole and beans were hot and well seasoned. A filling and flavorful lunch. Well worth the stop. Just a note: they aren't opened on Sundays. Monday through Saturdays, lunch is served from 10:30 until 3 PM and supper from 5 to 9 PM. A Texan waiting for the bathroom told me he always orders exactly what I ordered. I would highly recommend it.

We arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and had about a 30 minute wait. It was busy, but the wait was actually enjoyable because the restaurant has several little nooks filled with antiques and artwork by local artists. There was plenty to look at, and the time passed quickly. Taos has many wonderful mom and pop restaurants, but from what I learned during our visit, there are fewer locally owned restaurants serving traditional Spanish cuisine. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try all of them, but I'm very happy we chose Michael's Kitchen. Between the authentic food the welcoming atmosphere and Chaniece's outstanding service, it was one of the highlights of our visit to Taos.
