Been coming here off and on for many years going back to their former location that no longer exists. Well prepared, tasty Indian food in an attractive venue. Friendly staff who welcomes arriving guests and quickly seats them in nice booths. The main draw for our family is/was the excellent lunch buffet which brought us to Mantra over competitors without one. Alas, Mantra management has chosen not to resume the currently suspended buffet even though the pandemic that caused the suspension is now history. While once our primary go-to Indian restaurant, Mantra has now been removed from consideration as a result of no longer offering the lunch buffet. All Mantra earns now are three just average stars given the reduced level of offerings and value. read more

I asked the person at the motel where to get good Matar/Mutter Paneer, and he recommended this restaurant. I haven't found any good Indian restaurant for a long time and I was wanting this dish most of all. I was afraid that this was another "butter chicken" restaurant to serve the masses. When I entered, I was greeted quickly. When we established that I was one person and eating there, I believe she said "you can start any time." Start what? She walked away. I tried to ask for a menu. Hmmm Well, I saw the buffet and examined the dishes and they didn't have anything I wanted, so when someone came to bring water, I asked for a menu. He acted as though he didn't speak English but he got a menu for me. Eventually, the lady returned and took my order. She seemed annoyed that I didn't want buffet. Maybe, it would interrupt their cooking routine. In any case, she brought things to the table, including my iced tea, some roti (or is it puri?), and sauces. After a while, the samosas arrived. I'd never eaten any but friends told me that this was a tasty treat when they were younger. There is a food court booth at NewPark Mall up north called Samosas. These were so tasty, I wish I'd grown up Indian. A little longer and the Matar Paneer arrived with a big portion of rice. Oh, so good. Just what I needed, although I couldn't finish it. read more

I've been coming to Mantra since they had the location in front of the indoor swamp meet, and they have always been bomb. I've tried a lot of different places and still haven't anywhere else that makes the Lamb Vindaloo that can compete with them. The service was top notch as well. read more

First off....DELICIOUS!! My family has ordered from Mantra via Doordash 5 times. The food is always packaged securely, never any spills, and always hot. Shout out to the Dashers who never fail to deliver, literally and figuratively! Our typical order is Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Shrimp, Shrimp Curry, Paneer Masala, Rice, and Garlic Naan which usually costs about $70. Sounds pricey, but its enough food to feed a family of 5 adults and 1 child with leftovers. The food is fresh, flavorful, and colorful. It appeals to all the senses. There are so many layers to each dish that it's kind of hard to describe, so you have to just try it for yourself. Oh yes, I will be back either online or in person when the time is right! read more

I crave this place all of the time. My personal favorites are the chicken Tikka Masala and the chicken Biryani. It is so good. The Masala is so creamy and delicious, I love dipping the bread in it, it has so much flavor I want to lick my plate clean every time. I think the ambiance is really beautiful and fun, especially when it gets crowded. The staff is extremely kind and helpful with any questions you may have. Great quality food and the lunch buffet has a ton of variety- they even have a salad bar (full on with garbanzo beans, raw broccoli, etc.) which is super unusual for Indian restaurants. The buffet had 3 different desserts (normally other places only have 1). The service is fantastic and super fast. The water was filled constantly and finished plates were picked up as soon as we had finished eating from them. The servers were very attentive without making you feel like they were hovering. Mantra is the most satisfying of all Indian spots here located in corona. Its new location is more casual than its last and set up is seriously a new local favorite. I come here literally twice a week (literally) and am a regular of the lunch AND dinner service, so, I know what's up. Lunch if my favorite time to go have a all you can eat meal for about $8. You get unlimited FRESH HOT garlic (or plain) naan with every plate you get. The naan is seriously so crisp and soft at the same time and compliments so well with those thick flavorful spices that are in the entrees. *sighs* I love naan. Anyway, during lunch theres about 12 items to choose from such as chicken or paneer tikka masala, vegetable korma, palaak paneer (saag paneer), goat curry, basmati rice, vegetable samosas, batata vada and more! things are always changing up. Dinner is pretty cool even though the 3 curry plate costs about $15 its nicely plated and the service seems to be a bit more formal aswell. The full menu offers many items that the lunch menu doesnt offer so try some things out and dont be shy. I recommend coming during lunch especially if youre new to indian food to grasp a feel of what you do and dont like but honestly the food is so good so dont shy away from anything. Food was decent, but not friendly to any of our group, who were all Muslims. Not sure what their deal was, but no smiles for anyone. We had contact with 5 different staff members and they are either a very unhappy group or it was out table. At any rate, we will not bother to drive to this place in the future. :/ 11-18-18 Returned today for the first time since our bad experience. The place was much improved. The rotten people have been replaced and the staff was very inviting. As usual the lunch buffet was open with 5-6 new choices and 5 dessert choices! The host/server was very kind and understanding of our dietary restrictions. The cost of the food was VERY reasonable for how much we got and the quality of what we got. It's good food. I don't know that it's a lot better than other options in town. For the "lunch special " the tikka masala was $16. But it didn't Include rice and naan. So without tip I ended up at $24 for a basic lunch special. This has to be the cheapest all you can eat place that I've been to, and you have to understand that for how cheap it is, the quality of food is pretty good! You walk in and you are seated at a table by a waiter, the waiter will ask for your drink order and then bring you the water and fresh garlic naan while you are out grabbing your food. I personally love all of the veggie options with all of the gravy and the curries. I usually ask for extra bread so that I can use ti to dip in all of the sauces. The food wasn't completely ready once they opened - I didn't mind, it meant what they brought out was piping hot! I wish the food had more spice and heat though, but if you like Indian food mellow this is the place for you. Terrible service, even by Indian buffet standards. I visited the location for Sunday Buffet, saw the food on the buffet and asked them if they would be bringing out more fresh goat curry, tandoori chicken, and chicken tikka Masala. They said yes they would. They ended up bringing none of these things out. We were at the location for 45 minutes and at no time did they bring out fresh meat dishes even after asking four times. The food they did have out was old, thickened by the lack of interest and stirring of food that had presumably been sitting on the steam table for hours. The tandoori chicken was dry and overcooked. It was a challenge to find a piece that was not visibly burned on the outside. The goat curry had very small pieces of meat that could only be found by using the spoon as a strain. The weak flavors made the endeavor to get the meat a quixotic task. The chicken tikka Masala's sauce was watery. Once seated, they brought a single piece of Naan for out group of four. We asked for a couple more. We asked again three times over thirty minutes. One time the associate said in Punjabi to us, loosely translated, "when it's so busy, we forget one or two things sometime." Given that the dining room was less than 20% full and we were the only people in our section, I have no idea what went into that statement. We finally got the Naan 30 minutes later, right before we finished eating. There was no energy to the service either, no smiles, no communication, and no sense that the customer matter. As a final sign that this restaurant should be avoided in the future, they do require a signature for credit card transactions or ask for ID. If I had used someone else's card, they would have no way of knowing. I'd be wary of using a credit card here. read more

The chicken tikka masala was good but the cauliflower and potato dish was so salty it made my lips curl. The service was not great. It took over 40 minutes to get our meal. We got our lamb entree by itself with out the naan or rice then we got our appetizers them 30 minutes later we got our rice, naan and other entrees. read more

I would like to share my great dining experienced at this restaurant. First, the foods were excellent, the lamb was so tasty and the price was so reasonable. (Avg about $12 to $13 only per dish. ) The setting of this restaurant is good and if you love alcohol, this is the right place to dine in. They serve Taj Mahal beer, nice selection of Jonny Walkers n Mc Callan as well. Me and my family came at around 9.20pm on Sunday nigh and this place was packed with customers. After done and when we got to our car and we could not start our car. I walked back in and borrowed the Jumper cable. Obviously no one has one, but the owner was so nice, he asked me to wait for 5 minutes and he went and picked up the jumper cable from some where. He and his employees helped me to jump start the car but no luck. Finally one of the guy came out with brilliant idea by temporary swooping the owner car's battery to start my car. Right before doing so he even over me to take his car home. What a nice and responsible business person. He took care his customer not only while we were dinning but also to make sure his customers got home safely.
