My husband is very knowable in cars and costs, and he even said, that Manny was beyond honest with the cost of the repair.

This is the most honest auto shop I have ever been to. I took my car in to have my AC fixed and my…read morepassenger side window repaired. Isaiah and the team were super transparent throughout the whole process. Everything is documented in their website/app with videos and technician notes from the full diagnostic, and they constantly provided updates via text message every step of the way. There were no attempts to upsell whatsoever. During the diagnostic, it was noted that my serpentine belt should be replaced, so I went ahead and had that done as well. As for the passenger window, I had originally taken it to another shop over five years ago, where they charged me roughly $1,000 to fix it. I ultimately declined the repair at that time, but recently decided to finally address it. Little did I know, the previous mechanic had done a poor job, leaving behind a mess for someone else to deal with. The team here spent days carefully inspecting and diagnosing the issue, and I honestly felt bad for how much time they dedicated to it. In the end, they were able to successfully repair the passenger window motor. The very next day, my driver's side window stopped working. Isaiah and the team immediately told me to bring it back in. They ordered the necessary parts and replaced the master switch, completely free of charge. I was honestly shocked. That kind of integrity is rare, and it means everything as a customer. Thank you so much to Isaiah and the entire team for such honorable and outstanding customer service!

It starts from making an appointment with their virtual assistant. It made scheduling and communication incredibly efficient--no playing phone tag or waiting on hold just to get an update. What I appreciated most, however, was their honesty. We've all been to those mechanics who try to upsell you on a "fluid flush" or "belt replacement" the second you walk in the door. Sunset is the exact opposite. They performed the inspection, gave me the facts, and didn't push any unnecessary services. It's rare to find a shop that prioritizes integrity over a quick upsell. Pros: * Tech-Forward: The virtual assistant makes booking and updates a breeze. * No Pressure: Truly felt like they had my best interest (and budget) in mind. * Efficiency: They value your time and get you back on the road fast. If you're tired of the typical high-pressure mechanic experience, give Sunset Auto Care a shot.

I was looking to support a neighborhood brake shop and move on from Toyota. I made an appointment for a brake pad change with a timeline where it had to be finished because I had another appointment that after. The timeline was okayed by the owner. Brought the truck in and instead, the owner ended up ordering new rotors without calling me. I called to check on the status because it was close to my needing to leave for my next appointment, and only then did he tell me he ordered new rotors and was waiting for their arrival. Said the rotors I had were rusted and needed replacing. I was taken aback because they had just been replaced at Toyota service at my last brake change and Toyota's only replaced the rotors after several brake pad changes. I questioned the owner at Emerald and he said the rust affects the braking and was adamant I needed new rotors. I should have said no right there but I wasn't sure. I picked up my truck well over an hour later than originally scheduled. I also had to rescheduled my other appointment. When getting my truck, I asked to see the rotor and he brought them out. I took photos of them. In the attached photos, the owner is holding them. You can see they are smooth and do not need replacing. The owner only replaced the rotors to make more money. That weekend I left a message for him to call me back. Never heard back so the next week I dropped in and spoke to him in person. I asked to see the rotors again, but he said they had been picked up by the recyclers. That angered me and I told him I knew the rotors were fine after speaking to other mechanics online and in person, showing them the photos of the "rusted rotors". That the rust on the other areas were normal and didn't the brake pads or the braking. That he could have gotten a customer for life instead he chose to be scammy and take advantage of a customer? He didn't say anything but looked ashamed then walked away. I was still angry and two employees came out. I told them about the rotor and they led me where I last saw my rotors on Friday. They were still there and had not been picked up by the recyclers like the owner said. Just more lies. This is not some kindly older mechanic. I had also called the week prior before making my appt and the quote given by an employee was less than what I was charged by the owner. This is not including the rotors. There were also extra additional fees added. While maybe the employee mechanic didn't know the exact charges, the rest of my negative experience with the owner makes me wonder. You've been warned. I'm going back to Toyota Service and Repairs. They may be more expensive, but at least my guy at Toyota works with me and is honest.
