They said that they only accepted cash, so I left my car with them and I walked around the corner to an ATM at the store next-door to grab cash. When I came back. They had my car finished so I paid them. When I came back the guy that came outside to give me my key said that it would be $40. I was very pushy about the issue. I told him I have been quoted 25 after a minute or so and talking to his boss, he agreed to $25. Since that's what his boss had originally agreed with me on. When I got in my car, my tire sensor light was on and it said that I had zero tire pressure. They had not put my tire sensor back on the rim. When I asked the guy about this, he said that was not part of the service that he quoted me for. I just kind of assumed that the $25 was to put the tire and sensor on the rim correctly and I thought that I was getting a great deal. Overall, this was a horrible experience and I did not get what I paid for. I had to take my car somewhere else to get my tire balanced, and my tire sensor for back on my rim. Throughout this entire interaction, the general feeling that I got was that I was in some kind of sitcom and that I was somewhere where a lot of illegal stuff happens. A lot of that was due to the aggression that was shown to me when I asked about my tire sensor.

I called my roadside assistance and got the spare put in, then drove to the nearby Jensen to see how they could help (and how promptly). They were able to help me immediately at 1:30pm on a Thursday and the job was done fairly quickly (30-40 mins) for which I sat in their waiting room and watched cable tv (the luxury of being the only customer waiting around). The customer center is clean, well lit, and doesn't smell like a car shop. It was a good experience and I would recommend them to others in need of a patch job or tire change.

Now, I understand that they can't just waste their time chasing codes for free, but yes that was a little steep. I paid it because I needed my car repaired, and I really do like them. That being said, they now charge $253 to diagnose a check engine light. I just cannot afford to pay $250 simply to walk in the door before the repair pricing even begins, so I have had no choice but to take my car repair business elsewhere. They do a fantastic job, the techs are wonderful, the repairs have been good, but they have priced me out of being able to take my car to them. I do recommend them if you can afford them because they do good work. Just be prepared for the price.

On the web site was listed Jiffy Lub which is across the street. But, Jiffy Lube said they had new owner and didn't do these anymore. They said Brakes Plus was doing them now. The company that wanted this listed over 20 locations in the metro and prices from $20 to $40. When I asked at their desk the attendant said he wasn't aware they were doing this now. He went to the 'boss'. He told me, "Yes, we do those now the cost is $100." WHAT? I told him the listed price had been $20 at Jiffy Lube and others in the metro and had only come here because they were the closest to my home. I received a look from the guy in front of me that said...."Yea, but he's the boss." I didn't get angry, but I did laugh and made the comment that I would be writing about this online. Well, here it is. What I decided is, NEVER EVER go to this shop. If they will charge $100 for something that YES a different Jiffy Lube did in less than 5 minutes for $20. Ask yourself this! What are they doing and charging for everything else they do?
