Our dog Maclynn has been going there since we got her as a puppy, she is now almost 2 and loves it there so much. She gets excited every morning If we ask her if she wants to go see another dog and use it's name or an employee. I had a bad injury a year ago and now although we are down to one income, Many Paws saves our Dogs life. She isn't bored at home all day and going for a day wears her out the next day so she's nice and calm with me. My dog Draco loves going there, Draco was a pup I got at two years old and has some social skills that he is still trying to learn. I love how happy my dog is and the people that work there when we check in. The owner took time out of her day when I was distressed to help me with suggestions on how I could help Draco with some of his behaviors that are popping up since I'm still somewhat new to the area. If you love your dogs, or even kind of like them, do NOT take them to Many Paws. Sure, their rates are cheap, but your dogs will be much better taken care of elsewhere. We dropped off our two dogs near the end of June for a 2-week stay while we were on vacation. The first things we noticed were that the place was a little makeshift, dirty, and that it stunk. Well, we could get over the stinkiness since this is a dog kennel after all, and for some crazy reason this place has a 5 star review on Yelp so people must like them. Before leaving, we asked them to keep our husky's paws dry at night when she went to bed, as having wet paws overnight with her long fur has lead to itchy yeast buildups in the past. They confirmed that they would ensure that someone dried her paws each night since she loves swimming in the pool. We also were told (and signed papers confirming) that Many Paws would let us know if anything went awry or either of the two dogs needed any medical attention, and would also take them to a vet if things progressed. Well, fast forward two weeks to picking our dogs up, and not only did they not return a full (unopened) bag of dog food to us, they BOTH have kennel cough. Carla, the owner, told me right then that there were two dogs at the kennel that had kennel cough, but that there were "no other signs or symptoms in any other dogs". Hmm, ok... Well for the entire 20 minute car ride home, neither one of our dogs could stop coughing. One of our dogs had just been given a bath by the staff - with 1 on 1 attention, how did they not notice the incessant coughing? Or did they just not care? Not to mention I had called the day before to check on the dogs and ask about the husky's paws and was told that they were "perfect - no itching and were kept dry," yet she had a deep red yeast buildup under BOTH paws - the worst I have yet to see. We took both dogs to the first available vet appointment which was the following day, and a $550 vet bill later the doctor confirmed that both dogs had kennel cough - bad enough that she said they both had infections from it. I called Many Paws to inquire how in the world they did not see any symptoms and ask a few questions. All they had to offer were excuses - the most baffling part of the entire exchange was when I asked if they isolated the two infected dogs once they realized that they had kennel cough. Their answer? "No, all the other dogs were already exposed at some point." WHAT!?? Do you not realize that quick exposure does not guarantee contraction of the virus, but the longer/more often a dog is exposed, the higher the likelihood of contraction?? This was absurd. So, two dogs have kennel cough and you force the others to all be condemned to the same fate, costing their owners likely a combined total of $10,000 or more in vet bills (there were MANY, MANY dogs there when we picked our two dogs up). There is something wrong with their business model and ethical standards. So here we are, 9 days after picking up our dogs, still dealing with the repercussions of Many Flaws' lackluster care of our dogs. read more

I can't say enough about Carla and her staff!! I first boarded my St. Bernard and Great Dane with them for a few days. The St. was a stubborn Prima Donna and the Dane a distrustful man hating bull (he had been severely abused by a man). When I came to pick them up the Dane had made buddies with the fellow that worked there and the St., well she punished me for leaving her and not bringing her fancy bed buy ignoring me and demanding my son to walk her out. We've kept going back over the years. As my Dane aged and we added a small terrier to the pack. They kept them together when they were there. They did the same when it was the terrier and our Anatolian Shepherd. When the Anatolian passed the terrier became depressed and anxious. I had to take her to daycare for a few hours. Carla and the team knew her and her situation. They took great care of her and when I picked her up Carla took time to talk to me about her and gave me some very helpful suggestions based on her vast knowledge of dogs and specifically my pup. Many Paws is out of my way for me but I won't take my pups anywhere else. I know they will be cared for and treated well. read more

Many Paws is the best! I have a blind Husky Shepard and they took him in with open arms! He goes mostly for day care and gets to play all day! He falls asleep in the car on the way home! I've also kept him overnight a few times and when I call to check on him he's always having a great time. He gets soooo excited when he hears all the dogs barking when we get there. We used this kennel as a backup over the holidays when our regular kennel was closed. It is the same daily price to board our dog at both facilities. For the price, our usual kennel is a lot nicer looking than this one. It is a little run down and in a less desirable part of town. However, I felt that our dog was in good care. I liked that they did not have a set check/in check out time which allowed us to be a little more flexible. They sent us a thank you email and some photos of our dog at play which we receive at our usual kennel and were appreciated. Though, they would benefit from a marketing team as the automated thank you email contained a lot of typos and neither the email nor the photos were very professional looking. One thing I did really like is they sent us a "report card" for our pup telling us how she did. It was cute and gave us some good info which reassured us about her care during her stay. They also let the pups play together most of their stay which was a bonus because our other kennel charges an additional fee for the playtime outside of their individual pen and for us, it is hugely important that our pup is able to have fun and socialize rather than just being caged up all day. Without the extra fee for the play time, her stay here did end up being cheaper than what we usually pay elsewhere. All in all, the most important thing is that our pup is well cared for and we feel we got that here. While a little rough around the edges, we feel we got a fair value here and felt at ease with the care received. read more

I've boarded my almost two year old Bella, an Aussie-Shepher & Catahoula mix, a lot, in Many Paws. They've always taken good care of her. There was this one time, I think on the 4th of July weekend last year, when Many Paws was booked out, and I had to leave Bella in another kennel, and she absolutely hated it there. In fact, she tried squeezing out through the steel bars of the kennel and ended up wounding herself in the face (it's not the kennel's fault though; they addressed it immediately, and let me know that it happened). Many Paws is her place to go. But I'm not writing this review to say what others have already said. I'm from India, and here on a work visa. I had to travel back to India last November (2015) to renew my visa. My original plan was to get back in a month, and I had Many Paws booked for Bella. As it turned out, I had trouble getting a visa extension and the one month became two, became three, and it was eventually 4 & a 1/2 months before I could get back to the US. All the while, Bella was in Many Paws. Here's what I absolutely loved about her stay here during those testing times. 1. My friends visited Bella several times. Although they all said she was looking for her mommy & daddy, she looked in great health. Shredded, lean and muscular. Probably from all the play she was getting. 2. I was in constant touch with Carla. All she told me was to not worry about Bella and that she was in good hands. Not once did she bring up me making a payment given how long she was there. I volunteered to pay for the expenses incurred up until that point sometime after the two-month mark. I paid the rest in full after I picked Bella up. Given the duration she was there, I got a nice 10% discount. But more than the money, it was the care she got. Almost everyone working there knew Bella and grew very fond of her over her time there. Carla constantly sent me pictures of her, told me when she was running out of her food so I could get my friend to drop off a new bag, bathed her, groomed her, gave her extra play time. 3. I couldn't crate train her, or rather didn't want to, but since she was in the kennel for a long time, she doesn't hate the crate anymore. She'd be there without fuss for reasonable periods of time. Not intentional, but I'll take it as a bonus! There are many other fancy places now around the Hillsboro area that have live camera feeds so I can monitor what my dog is up to, but I'm more than happy to ignore all that if it means that Bella gets to stay at Many Paws. read more

WE ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY AND NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE. Here's why..... My wife and I boarded our dog at Many Paws from 12/17/10 to 12/27/10. Upon picking her up we found hardened skin and a puncture wound on her left side. These injuries went undetected for 5 DAYS by MANY PAWS resulting from a fight during the middle of her stay. The injuries consisted of a deep bite puncture wound, an area of bruising with blood-filled seromas and superficial abrasions. At the emergency vet visit on the day we picked her up requiring draining the seromas and cleaning the puncture wound. Thank goodness the puncture wound didn't get infected after 5 DAYS. How hard is it to do a touch-based evaluation of a dog after a fight?The issue is not the fight, it's the lack of care she received after the fight. After writing a letter to MANY PAWS, they refused to refund us the portion of the stay from the injury to her last day ($189). We didn't even ask for a full refund or for them to pay for the $250 emergency vet bill. Somehow they think they did nothing wrong. It was during that call when they casually mentioned she was in a fight the day before (full disclosure - she started it) The fight was minimized and downplayed. It's important to note that our dog has not lost urine or otherwise been incontinent in the three-plus years we've been her owners. Her change in behavior correlates directly with the fight and Many Paws failure to properly assess and evaluate her following the fight. We believe our dog was neglected as it appears that she was only visually evaluated after the fight. Had she received a tactile-based evaluation the puncture wound would have very likely been located considering we easily found it within one hour of picking her up which was five days after the fight. We checked the box on the release form that requests our dog be taken to her vet, if possible, in the event she is need of medical attention, or otherwise an emergency vet of Many Paw's choosing. We believe (as does our vet) that the injuries she sustained warranted immediate medical attention. The chance of the puncture wound becoming infected and leading to a systemic infection requiring surgery was 50/50; luckily no infection manifested. Many Paws is not medically qualified to determine the status of a dog after an altercation and since vet visits are passed through to the customer we were very surprised she was not taken to the vet for a medical evaluation. Moreover, she was given prescription pain medication without our permission. In addition to the significant vet bill we've had to keep a regimen of hot compresses, administering two related prescriptions, antibiotic ointment applications, and has had to wear a shirt to avoid contact with the wounds so that they can heal. Our dog has since healed with a scar at the puncture wound. If you care about your dog, then don't use this company!!!!! read more

I've boarded my dog here a couple of times, and it's going to be my go-to place for dog boarding. To be honest, I'm pretty new to the "owning a dog" thing, so I don't really have any experiences with other kennels. It's really close to my house, and the rates are reasonable. My dog has come home each time tuckered out from all the fun he had hanging out with other dogs for a few days. They sent out a report card and a few pictures of him playing around in the yard after each visit, which is a cute touch. Honestly, any place where I can safely leave him for a few days where he gets fed regularly and gets to go outside would be a-ok in my book, and this place definitely meets that criteria. We had our 2 dogs boarded for the first time, and we were referred to Many Paws by a family friend. We were very pleased! Being it was our first time boarding them, we were nervous, but the staff was so nice and the facility is kept well clean and sanitized. One of our dogs is a bit aggressive towards other dogs, and Many Paws still kept him and made sure he had lots of attention & play time with our other dog. They even sent us pictures and report cards for both dogs, which I loved! I would highly recommend Many Paws, and we definitely feel at ease taking our fur babies here again! read more

To piggy back off Nadya's review... Many Flaws' website is an oversell. Initially we liked that the dogs were able to play most of the day in a "large" and "clean" environment. Upon arrival we realized the yard was smaller than we originally thought and over crowded with dogs. The yard was drenched in a mixture of dog urine, spray bottle chemical and water. (Spray bottle chemical: An employee in the yard sprayed spots throughout the yard after dogs went potty.) We were hesitent to leave our dogs after visiting, but decided to trust the reviews. A mistake our dogs and pocketbooks still have not recovered from. NOTE: There is still a chance that our purebred Rhodesian Ridgeback will have to be hospitalized. Owner and employee responses were "They were healthy when they left," laughable to say the least. As mentioned in Nadya's review, our dogs returned to us with multiple infections, and kennel cough. The owner of Many Flaws admitted to allowing two dogs diagnosed with kennel cough to play with the rest of the dogs. She said the dogs have already been exposed and there was no harm. Our vet had a much different reaction. We were escorted into an isolated room upon arrival. The tech then put a note on the door that said no dogs allowed in that room until a certain date. Our dogs were vaccinated for kennel cough, but vaccinations for kennel cough are like getting a flu shot. Flu shots only stop specific strains. All the more reason to isolate the two dogs with confirmed cases of kennel cough. I am sure people have good experiences at Many Flaws and enjoy the photo report cards, but I assure you that if your dog is injured or becomes ill there is a high likelihood it will be missed or ignored. Many Flaws takes on too many dogs for the space and staff and are full of reasons why they are not responsible. Many Flaws, if you decide to take some responsibility and do the right thing by reimbursing our money or covering our vet bills on your account of neglect, I will fairly add that to this post. read more

We've been boarding our little Maltese-Poodle pup at Many Paws for a couple years now, whenever we fly out to the east coast to visit family. Their staff is always friendly, our dog always leaves happy and healthy, and their rates are very reasonable. I don't know if they still do this, but when we first started boarding our dog with them they would take pictures of him playing with the other dogs and email them to us. We boarded our three pups for one night while visiting Portland. Two of our "kids" are young-- 6 months and 15 months and have never been boarded. Our 15 month boy is particularly sensitive, so we were nervous parents. Our fears were allayed the minute we met the owner who enthusiastically embraced us. They had a great, great time. It's obvious they were well cared for and loved. There may be other places that are more posh, but if you want your dogs to be happy, exercised and loved, look no further. We have taken our dogs to many paws various times over the past 5 years. When you had two dogs they were boarded together which was perfect for us because our older dog gets lonely. Now we board our only dog and because of the all day play time he LOVES going there. We don't use this kennel regularly because we rarely leave our dog but every time I call they all seem to remember Duke which makes me feel better about leaving him. read more

I have been boarding my 2 dogs for a few years now. My dogs love it and are almost sad to come home. Many paws is very good to my dogs and they are out in the yard often. They don't charge for "walks" like other places. They may not have fancy pools and videos, but they have excellent people that treat the dogs with love and lots of play time. I have taken my dog Qismah to Many Paws twice now and it has been a great experience. She is an older, larger pup, who is pretty nervous around strangers and often other dogs. Although never aggressive she does get very anxious at times. The kennel paid attention to her personality and eased her into a play group that seemed to go really well and help her get out of her shell. I also loved that they sent me photos of her while I was away. Nothing is as good as home when you want the best for your dog, but I am comfortable leaving my girl with these folks. read more

This is a social boarding experience so if your dog is friendly it can play most of the day and then have a cozy kennel for the night. Other places keep your dog penned up with little attention. My dog like to swims and tear up toys. He also loves attention. At Many Paws he gets special treatment and I never feel guilty for leaving him when I have to go out of town. We have been taking our four-legged kiddo to Many Paws for a few years now and even adopted a fellow daycare buddy on the recommendation of Carla and her team. I cannot say enough great things about Many Paws - we have utilized the boarding opportunities when needed and love the daycare. We actually drive the opposite way we go to work one - two times a week just to bring both of our four legged kids there. Prior to Many Paws we had been to other kennels in the Aloha/Hillsboro area and the reason why we sought out another daycare is because we couldn't find any place whose staff treated our kids as if they were their own - Carla and her staff do just that. I don't want to drop off in the morning to a person who doesn't know my name or the name of my dogs, I don't want to pick them up only to be handed a leash with no discussion. We chose Many Paws because of Carla and Susan - we stay with Many Paws because of Carla and Carrie and the other fabulous Many Paws Family members who greet us and our kids with friendly smiles and always take a moment to tell us something about the day when we pick them up. Another incredible thing to share is when one of our kiddos split a nail down to the nailbed while playing and I was called at work to be informed of the incident and updated a few hours later that it might be a good idea to pick her up and let her rest at home because she wouldn't stop playing making the area bleed more. Many Paws staff member not only care about our dogs they know about canine first aid which comes in handy for situations like this. For the folks on other sites who talk about kennel cough - it happens at every daycare we have ever been at - I equate it to lice in elementary school kids - it just happens. It isn't the facility or the people, dogs can pick it up at dog parks, while visiting Petco or Petsmart and interacting with other dogs in their neighborhood. We were called at home by Carla that a dog had shown signs of kennel cough, so we watched our kids at home and when one of them showed symptoms we took him to the vet, got on a medication and it never fully developed into anything scary - but it was the early warning that Carla gave that helped us be responsible pet parents and keep an eye out. If you are looking for a place to drop off your dogs and not have any interaction with the people working there - do not go to Many Paws. If you want to leave your four legged kids with responsible individuals who will genuinely care about them then Many Paws is for you. read more

My Bichon is my baby, and I will not leave her with anyone. So I was a little worried about Many Paws, because of the bad review that I read in one of the reviews. But I needed someplace to leave my puppy, and I took a chance and left her there.. They, the folks, that took her in their arms and loved on her, put me at ease right away. They will do anything that you ask them. Like one day she vomited at home and I asked them to have her rest and they did what I asked. They are so polite and listen to whatever you have to say. And the price is reasonable. If I want to go someplace for a short while, I take her there for 4 hours. They also let me pay for 5 visits ahead of time at a lower price. Now I am a believer. This place is great. When my husband and I moved to the Hillsboro area, we tried several dfferent doggy day cares for our high-energy husky. We were not happy with any of them. We finally tried Many Paws, and we couldn't be happier! The staff is extremely friendly, and they take a sincere interest in our dog. Every time I pick her up, they have a cute story about something funny our dog did that day--you can tell they really pay attention to the dogs and build genuine bonds with them. The facilities might not be as flashy or fancy as some other day cares in town, but May Paws is by far the most dog-loving place, and it feels good to know my dog is in good hands every time I drop her off! read more

We've boarded our super-shy rescued Siberian husky here on a couple of occasions (2007, 2010) and plan to bring her back this year. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and they obviously love dogs. It is a challenge to find a place where we are comfortable leaving our special dog since she has separation anxiety issues and is generally afraid of people. Our girl did as well as can be expected at Many Paws. They give detailed reports on activities, behavior and any concerns. Rates are fair. I am happy to recommend Many Paws Kennel. read more
