Let me tell you, it was wonderful tasting except for the disgusting / overlooked biscuits. They were literally the worst ones I've ever had in my life. Save yourselves and avoid them! I in fact felt awe full the rest of the day after those biscuits! My wife and I visited today for the second time in two weeks. The food is truly exceptional. Today's meal was the Ruben sandwich. Far and away the best we've had in years. Last week we had the salads and were also huge bowels of fresh mixed greens, house made dressing with various toppings. Everything comes with choice of homemade soups which are virtually a meal in themselves. The wait staff is also super, very friendly and skilled. Looking for an open breakfast place on the way back to Nebraska. Maple House clean, quick, and delicious. Husband and I ordered the 2-2-2 which also came with potatoes (hash browns or diced potatoes). Servicer was polite, kept the drinks full, and meal came out hot. This time, she was very warm and attentive. I explained to her that I'd be grading for a while and if her shift ended and she needed me to settle up before she left, no problem. She said, "We close at 9:00, so stay as long as you like!" I ordered an ENORMOUS chicken sandwich which came with soup (really good homemade chicken noodle), fries, and slaw. (I never order slaw, but eat it when it's in front of me, and it was very good!). Every time I've gone here in the past was great, but recently, it was horrible. My mom and I were waiting for our food for 30 minutes+, our waitress was nowhere to be found, and when I did finally see her, she was standing around eating. I then got my skillet in a frying pan when everyone else around me had skillet plates. When the cashier asked how our food was, we didn't want to complain but they insisted we say what was wrong since you could see it on our faces. We then proceeded to complain about the waitress who barely paid attention to us, and receiving my food in a frying pan. The staff insisted that that's how it is served and I argued back that everyone else had plates. What was it that you wanted my complaint for if I didn't even get so much as an apology?! Saganaki yum! I have tried this fried cheese dish many places and it is an art to get it cooked the right way. Double Yolk nails it every time. I like to follow that up with the turkey and dressing, (real turkey) smothered in gravy. this place is very hit or miss. I really want to like it! ...... First of all, no wifi in a breakfast place? We came the morning after a snow storm - understaffed which is understandable. What's not is watching the owner drink coffee behind the counter while the servers and kitchen staff run their asses off. When someone would come in the door or walk up to pay, she'd shove food in her mouth before heading their way. The coffee cup that was preset on our table had food stuck to the side. The jam packet I picked up was leaky. There is no attention to detail here so I wonder how the kitchen looks. Food is usually good but overpriced for what you get. I'm just not a fan. read more

I wanted to try this place out the reviews seemed great. The food was decent the atmosphere is nice but the service was below standard for us. We were served in a good amount of time but after the waitress asked how the food was and we gave her an ok nod we didnt see her again to get more water napkins or anything else. Once we were done eating we waited to long for the bill and when she did bring it there was no apology for the amount of time it took her to come back. My omelette was burnt but also cold which made sense because it took us over 40 mins to get our food and it wasn't busy. This is a breakfast/lunch place on the 191st Street corridor that is full of medical offices and the like, between LaGrange and Wolf. The noise is above average. Food service speed is moderate and the staff is VERY friendly. I ordered my usual breakfast, and it was after a medical test that required overnight fasting so I was HUNGRY. The eggs were over easy and were done well. Not runny in the middle and not with a 50% cooked yolk. Hash browns were good and neither greasy nor burned. Toast is toast. I've eaten here twice, I decided to post a review after the second visit. The manager or owner is constantly yelling at the waitresses, "come on", "hurry up!" as they are running around non-stop. The eggs were runny, the pancakes were over cooked, almost burnt and the bacon was almost raw. I gave them one star as my waitress was great. The diced potatoes are almost always seasoned perfectly and the texture was nice, even after they were in a takeout box steaming. The texture and seasoning in the scrambled eggs are most always good and the sausage patties are crispy and flavorful. The prices are high but comparable to similar places. The quality of the.
