I was heading home after a hard day of car repairs, and needed dinner. I spotted this place on the east side of Harlem south of 159th a way, and dove in. This is a storied restaurant, originally starting in Calumet City, and now expanding to Tinley Park. There is a mural on the north wall with Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, the old Route 66 movie theater and art of the Chicago Skyline. How's THAT for ambiance. Seating is at the counter or with tables or booths, and was comfortable. The Chicago Tribune review on the wall recommended their Bacon Double Cheeseburger, but with 2 x 1/2 lb hamburger patties, that was too much for me, so I went with their cheeseburger and fries, with a Cherry Shake. The burger was HUGE. It overlapped the bun by at least an inch in all directions. I ordered it the Schoops way - with ketchup, mustard, diced onions (fresh) and piccalilli. It was very tasty, very messy, and just pure good hamburger fun. The fries were very large for a small order - it would have fed two, no problem. The Cherry Shake was tasty and cold, just what I needed after working in the sun all day. Service was good - I was greeted when I sat down, provided with a menu, and provided with several glasses of water, since I was pretty dried out. All in all, a good visit - next time, I hope to bring someone else with.

This was my first time ever trying this place. I've heard a lot of good things from other people so I wanted to give it a try. The burgers are actually pretty big, and they do really fill you up. Unfortunately I felt like the actual meat itself had very little flavor. It tasted good with all the condiments, but if you just try the meat alone it didn't taste like anything. I also did not really care for their fries. My fries tasted like they were refried. This place reminds me a lot like Steak 'n Shake, but I think Steak n Shake burgers are a little bit better and definitely a lot cheaper.

Well despite the long travel from the north side. this location for the first time compared to the other locations both the Tinley Park Mall they close and the one in Calumet City have two different ambiences. I feel like I'm going to either potbelly or corner bakery the way the setup is or maggiano's whereas with the one in the mall it feels like a typical food court setup and then the one in Calumet City feels more like a hole in the wall but nevertheless if the food is consistent with the hamburgers complaining. Well so far the food has been very good and I was really hungry for lunch. Originally I wanted to come here on Labor Day Monday for dinner but they close too early by the time I reach going here. So I decided to come today I was greeted nicely to the server who asked if I was going to be dining in there checking out and I told her I was dining in. She was the only one serving despite the place starting to get busy for lunch. Otherwise the double cheeseburger was delicious the way they cooked it and was satisfying. I've been to so many franchises for hamburgers it's either I don't know how it's been cooked for double cheeseburgers but you know compared to Culver's which is also good as well as that burger joint or even steak and Shake which I went last week they were good hamburgers but they weren't filling and they charge a lot equivalent to a shoots double cheeseburger around $11 I don't want to gain weight but at the same time I feel like I need to get more bang for my buck on what I spend for fast food as well as the quality of how the cooking goes on making a hamburger. 4 out of 5 stars because I guess I expected the root beer float to be served in a glass or glass mug or milk shake glass and it was served in your typical wax cup. Otherwise if they serve the root will float that way I would have been happy or I could have gotten their famous green river soda

Takes me back to a time in the 90's when diners were more popular. Such a cute, clean, fun, & friendly place. We enjoyed our burgers and shakes and it definitely ranks high for deliciousness. Very well made burgers. Not just juicy but full of any toppings you ask for. Chili fries were bland but still ok. Highly recommend for a great burger.

SIBLING HANGOUT!!! I…read morehad this place on my list of places to go, and finally, I had an opportunity. It is really visually pleasing in this establishment. VERY spacious, and you wouldn't think that from looking at the building in the parking lot. I will say this OFF TOP, I will be back. This place appears to have lots to offer, and I want in on the good stuff. They have party rooms, a massive bar and plenty of seating for friends, foes and the family. Adorable decor, but also simple. Its a bar/pub friends! Let's get to the sips and bites shall we! I ordered a cranberry and vodka. When it came, it was dang near clear, so I knew that would be my only sip for the evening and some water. lol We ordered starters/apps: Chicken Wings and Cheese Curds. Simple, tasty, hot and the service was SWIFT BABY SWIFT! Entree: I ordered Fish tacos. I had my fingers and toes crossed hoping they were going to be amazing. No sir, no ma'am. Flavorless. They looked great though. I ate half of one and gave to my sib for take home bites. I blame me, I should have ordered something safe, like a burger or something easy peasy. Sis ordered a Patty Melt with fries. Looked good, she stated it tasted amazing. Winner, winner, burger dinner! Bro order a couple things: Chicken Tenders and fries and a Quesadilla. He stated his items were delicious. We sat, ate, sipped and enjoyed the space. I would absolutely recommend this establishment for friend/family gatherings, or popping in for sips and wings. They have an assortment of homemade sips and eats, and their menu is pretty large. If anything, I will be back to try more options of things. Simple grub! Great location and friendly staff! As always, you don't have to take my word for it, go get you some!

She is just as friendly and lovely. The vibe is lively. The music is loud, and their bar area is nice, with TVs throughout. Hubby ordered the steak and potatoes, and I ordered the fish and chips. We both enjoyed our meals. Hubby said his steak was seasoned really well, and he took half of my fish, which he also said was really good, and I agree. This is a great neighborhood staple, and we will definitely be back to try one of their burgers.

This burger caterer operates & services the food court at Hollywood casino amphitheater. (Charges…read moreon my CC popped up as the name of their bank, First Midwest Bank, rather than the name of the food venue or their LLC) Also very strange.. there was a tip line with percentages. 15%, 20%, +. There was no option for cash or no tip. I would have liked to tip in cash rather than forced to choose a percentage. Their menu is basic: Hamburgers, cheeseburgers and bacon burgers. They offer basic fries and then two other styles with bleu cheese and other toppings. The menu does not explain what is included with each requiring a conversation with their staff. It's not the most elaborate of menus'. Most burgers range $13 - $15 dollars. If you've caught reviews of the amphitheater, you are already aware that their costs are high. Most food vendors offer food in this same price range. Some nights ago I was attending the Nathaniel Radcliffe / Kings of Leon show. It was getting dark and Kings were up next. Hitting the food vendors as musicians tested their instruments is the best time to avoid crowds. Cooking took a few minutes but we had our food in hand as the band took the stage. Burgers had a nice char smell to them. Fluffy buns that were toasted with shredded lettuce and some kind of salad dressing or aioli. Additional condiments were kept on the side of the food vendor. Looks as if this condiment station is shared by all food vendors(?) Not sure about this but since others weren't refilling their condiments this vendor's station was getting janked! Ketchup was out and the area was dirtied from the massive usage with hardly anyone cleaning up the area and refilling. Some patrons commented that the condiments were refilled but not enough to feed the demand. They have to figure this out and work on it. Reading reviews of the amphitheater, patrons are not happy with management and how services are provided. A meal of some kind with a booze beverage can run approx $30 per person. How was the burger? Decent. We sat in the field on a blanket. It was already dark and they shutoff the floodlight overlooking our area. Eating in the dark, I didn't care much what I was shoveling. The shredded lettuce worked when paired with mustard and ketchup. It was like the burger was made to work with Heinz. But the quantity could have been more. The menu didn't say whether it was a 1/4 lb or 1/2. If having light, a side of some kind would satiate hunger. Bag of chips or plain fries. When it's hard to see, why buy fries with complicated or messy toppings. Whereas with daylight, go nuts!
