One of Maple Indian Cuisine's employees came outside and offered cold water to the people outside working. Once again, traveling on business... We found ourselves in Goshen and needed to find a place that suited both my meat-based wishes and another person's plant-based desire. So we came to Maple. Very friendly greeting and super nice folks all around. We realized that our server was the owner and ended up having a wonderful visit with her talking about traveling to India. The food was very good. I had the Butter Chicken and my companion had a veggie dish that I forgot to write down the name of. We split an order of Saag Pander and an order of Naan. My sister and I and the rest of my family love maple Indian. We live about 25 minutes but it's a regular spot of ours. Rosie (the owner/manager) is so friendly and always personable and goes out of her way to get to know her customers and always helps us decide what new things to try next. The menu is huge for vegetarian and you can get things as spicy (or not) as you want. My personal favorites are the Chana masala, and mushroom saag (veg). A really good vegetarian appetizer is the chili cauliflower and our favorite naan is the garlic or the classic. The mango lassi is so good if you want a sweet drink! There's something for everyone here. the lunch buffet is good for trying new things for the first time (veg &a meat) but it's less spicy than if you order off the menu and customize it yourself. Favorite restaurant in downtown Goshen. Not only do they have a lunch buffet every day, but they always have multiple vegetarian dishes along with meat options. If you're wary of spice, they keep the buffet pretty mild to accommodate everyone. Their menu dining is also amazing and have anything you'd want. They are also very accommodating with food restrictions such as gluten or dairy. Just ask questions and they'll help you find something delicious! As you can tell from my reviews, I like Indian restaurants. In the middle of Indiana farm country I found a great one. I've now eaten at Maple at least 6 times. I did do lunch here once, but I am just not a buffet person and didn't like it. Let me stick to dinner. Great food, good service. This review is a little late, but just remembered to update to the new five star rating. The owners have heard our feedback and the food is no longer too salty. The woman owner is so friendly and nice. She has talked to me personally many times and is always welcoming. We think this is some of the best Indian food we've had and definitely the best in the area. The mango lassi are wonderful and every entree we've tried to date has been great. We had always eaten during the lunch buffet, but one night we decided to take a chance and order from the menu. It was completely worth it. While their buffet is wonderful, the dinner menu is even more so. All the food taste extremely fresh with unique Indian spices leaving us happy and full. We absolutely love Maple Indian! read more

Had the lunch buffet. Was very impressed. The buffet was very good, and the spice level high enough compared to other places where they tone it down for the general population during lunch. They included full samosas on the buffet, and the vegetarian selections were good as that's what I eat in Indian restaurants. A great addition to already lovely downtown Goshen. Although I really appreciate the presence of an Indian restaurant in Goshen and the food was a-okay, I thought the menu was over priced. I haven't visited the restaurant during lunch hours which seems to be the go-to time for meals, but I visited during the evening hours. The server seemed friendly enough but I thought paying $14 for butter chicken, $2 for naan, as well as $4 for samosas. I hope that the prices level down to fit people's wallet sizes in the future. read more

Been to the lunch buffet a couple of times. I'm happy with the quality. It was even better the second time. I wish there was more variety... the options are very slim. But what they serve is usually good. And they give you fresh naan. Big plus. You can ask them for more. Don't expect spicy or anything like that. It is still catered to midwest palates. But it is hard to find decent Indian around here. I will also say that the dining room experience needs some improvement. The two of us were stuck at a round table in the middle. Space is tight when full. I felt like I kept having to move to let people through. And honestly, the workers were stressing us out while we ate. They were constantly stomping back and forth, rushing to clean tables and seat customers. I get it, you're busy. But you all need to chill. read more

My husband and I have a tradition of visiting Indian buffets so I can learn to appreciate the cuisine of his homeland. We've been to quite a few, and this one was... Interesting. The first thing I noticed was that they had all of my favorites, but none of his. They very clearly cater to the American pallet. This was even more obvious when we noticed he was the only Indian in the restaurant. They had chicken tikka, chicken makhani, paneer makhani, and goat curry. They also had some type of dish with hot dogs in it... Hot dogs. At an Indian restaurant. My husband was a little grossed out. The interesting thing about all these dishes was that none of them were done well. One or two were okay, and some (like the makhani... Also known as butter chicken) were down right disappointing and ruined by salt. They had a good dessert selection that was better than I've seen at most places (three options), but that was the only really good thing aside from the reasonable price. I love that Goshen has an Indian restaurant, but I think it would be better if it was a little more Indian. I would recommend it mostly because people should try different cuisines... This is a great restaurant. I am by no means an expert on Indian food, but I've been to quite a few different Indian restaurants over the years and I've developed some preferences. I would have to say that Maple Indian Cuisine in Goshen is my favorite. The food is excellent, the prices and service are good, and I cannot say that I've had a bad experience there. They have these awesome metal plates that have many different sections so you can separate the often runny Indian food. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star review is simply that the atmosphere isn't all that great. The décor is a bit dated and incoherent. I would prefer either a more modern look or a more authentic Indian atmosphere. read more
