One of our family's favorite restaurants. Friendly staff and even better food. We are happy to support them as a local restaurant and want them around far after COVID and the staffing shortages. Shocked at a recent out of town reviewer. Have never experienced anything but a clean and friendly environment.

Addendum: the real manager/owner reached out and apologized profusely, giving my husband and I a credit and letting us know this is not how they run their business. Hopefully what happened below is an anomaly and won't happen to anyone again. I bumped the stars up to five star because that's what the food is and if everything is fixed, this is a nice place to eat. Peace. I'm writing this review because the manager rolled her eyes at me. The food was excellent. That's not the point. We live 40 mins away from this Indian restaurant and my husband called at 1:25 to ask when they closed. "Three o'clock", the voice replied. We got there at 2:40. A little late yes, but other restaurants in the area seat until closing time so we didn't think there was a problem, especially since when we called we had been told they close at 3. (Note: after writing this review my husband assured me the person he spoke to said, "the buffet ends at 3"). "We stop seating at 2:40." They said. The exact moment we walked in they stopped seating. This was weird. "We just drove 40 mins to get here" I said. We explained we had called and no one told us they stopped seating earlier than 3pm. They let us eat, but explained that there would be no new food on the buffet. That was fair. At 10 after 3 my husband was still finishing eating. He was almost done. "It's really after 3 guys, we all want to go home." A server I assumed was the manager said firmly. We apologized and said we were almost done. I suggested though that next time instead of saying "we close at three" to say "we stop seating at 2:40." "Well what time did you call?" She asked. I wasn't sure why she asked that question. She said, "Because at any restaurant they're going to stop seating before closing time." We told them Essenhaus seats till closing and my husband remembered Olive Garden does too. I said I've worked in customer service 30 years and the correct customer service answer is, "we stop seating at 2:40" because otherwise people will think they can come in until 3." The woman rolled her eyes at me (that was what made me mad... ) and said, "I'm sure since you've worked THAT LONG in customer service you'd say we're open until 3pm." I said no, I would tell the customer the truth so they didn't make a long trip thinking they had the time. She grimaced snootily and walked away. My husband and I love Indian food and we have many friends who do. We'd love to come back here, but I would like a formal apology from this rude individual and I'd advise staff start saying "we stop seating at 2:40" so people don't have these misunderstandings in the future. Telling the truth would prevent that. That woman's attitude was highly unprofessional.

Maple was a surprising find in cute downtown Goshen. I had resigned myself to a boring dinner and didn't expect that Indian would even be an option. Anyway, it was pretty good! First, the space is simple, clean and inviting. The staff is super nice and helpful - they assume that folks are perhaps unfamiliar with Indian cuisine and they're ready and willing to give explanations and recommendations. So that does set the stage - flavors here are definitely muted to some degree. I assured them that I really did want my dish HOT and it was probably "medium" at best, but that's ok. Now - my curry was beyond ample in terms of portion and absolutely loaded with big chunks of good quality meat - you could totally split this. My roti was beautifully crisp and chewy and their mint chutney was lovely. Was it the best Indian ever? No - but it was way better than I expected and a really pleasant surprise. If you're on the fence about checking this place out, definitely do it. You'll be made very welcome no matter if you're a newbie or a regular enjoyer of this delicious cuisine.

The udon noodles was thinner than expected but the soft texture was nice and tasted good. The asparagus steak was hearty and filling which also came with rice. The chili cheese fries were awesome and very good, the Golden soup had a multiple blend of goodness with all the ingredients made it hearty and delicious. It was hard to decide what to order, but definitely a good reason to come back and try again.

The kids disappeared into the games so fast I briefly considered filing a missing persons report before realizing they were just... happy. As a parent, I experienced something I hadn't felt in years: finishing an entire meal while it was still warm. I almost cried. The pizza is offensively good. My cardiologist has specifically asked me not to be tagged in any more of my Yelp reviews, but if you're reading this, Steve... mind your own business. Some relationships are worth fighting for, and mine with this pizza is one of them. The beer was fantastic. Every pint tasted like it was brewed by someone who actually enjoys making beer instead of someone trying to impress a guy named Chad who owns three flannel shirts and says things like, "I'm getting notes of pine and emotional unavailability." The place is huge, which is exactly what every parent dreams of. The kids sprinted off to the games, the dog made about 47 new friends, and for a glorious 20 minutes nobody asked me to open a juice box, settle a courtroom-level dispute over whose turn it was, or inspect a mysterious object they found on the floor. I wasn't parenting anymore. I was just a guy eating incredible pizza in public. One Well somehow found the perfect balance between brewery, family hangout, dog park, and therapy session. I walked in stressed, left full, and briefly convinced myself I could handle having more kids. Thankfully that feeling wore off before I got to the parking lot

The hummus was extremely watery--more like a soup consistency than the thick, creamy hummus I expected. It made it difficult to enjoy with the vegetables or chips. Speaking of the platter, for something labeled "party size," there were surprisingly very few vegetables included. Instead, it came with a large amount of chips. I was also expecting multigrain chips based on the photo but they were just plain tortilla chips, which wasn't what I had in mind. The Good Mojo juice itself tasted good, although it was served warm rather than chilled. Overall, for the amount I spent, I had much higher hopes for the quality and portion balance of what I was getting. It just didn't feel like the value matched the price.

The salad came with a lemon garlic dressing on the side, which I didn't pour over the salad, but instead dipped forkfuls lightly into the cup. The salad was huge! There was no way I could finish it, and I didn't. But it was satisfying and made my body feel oh-so good, the way that a body feels good when eating whole foods. Roots Market Cafe has a lot of nourishing options here. I had a hard time choosing what to get, because they have so many tasty-sounding options. Most (all?) of the menu is either vegetarian or vegan, and they offer salads, wraps, smoothies, juices, and a selection of baked goods. This place is also a little market! You can find fresh produce here -- I saw sweet potatoes, broccoli, zucchini, ginger root, bananas, pineapple, berries and other things. They also sell alternative milks, mushroom coffee, organic eggs, kimchi, vegan snacks, and things I have never seen, like vegan marshmallows and vegan marshmallow cream. Who knew that existed? I got my salad to go, but they have a dining room where you can sit and stay a while. The dining room is separate from the market and ordering counter, and is located in an entirely different room.

But I have to call out the biscuits and gravy... they were to die for. The biscuits were moist, clearly homemade, and the sausage gravy was hearty and perfectly spiced. I reheated my leftovers the next day and somehow they were just as good out of the microwave, which says everything about how well they're made.
