I recently received a mailer announcing this restaurant's grand opening, so my wife, children, and I decided to stop in for Sunday brunch. As expected for a brand‑new establishment located on the first floor of a newly constructed apartment building, the space was clean, well‑kept, and visually appealing. The décor and overall ambience made for an enjoyable first impression. When reviewing the menu, my initial reaction was that it looked similar to many other brunch offerings. Still, we were already seated, so I decided to give it a fair chance. The kids' menu was fairly standard--nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered the huevos con chorizo breakfast burrito with a side of home fries, while my wife chose the ranch chicken sandwich, also with home fries. The kitchen took a bit of time to prepare our meals, which I actually appreciated, as it suggested everything was being made to order. When the food arrived, it looked great--and tasted even better. I'm not exaggerating when I say my wife's sandwich disappeared almost instantly. When I asked if she liked it, she jokingly replied, "No, it was terrible," clearly implying the opposite. My breakfast burrito was equally delicious and didn't last long either. If the restaurant continues delivering this level of quality in both presentation and flavor, I will absolutely return. The only reason I rated the experience four stars instead of five was due to the service being slightly slow when it came time to receive our check. I'm willing to give the server the benefit of the doubt--everyone has an off day from time to time. Overall, I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

The train-car setup and unique seating options make the experience truly one of a kind. I tried the Go Bananas Iced Latte, and it was absolutely delicious. What a fun and welcoming place to get a coffee and sit for a while. I ordered the raspberry dream latte and she ordered some caramel honey something iced coffee and they were both delicious! We sat down in the caboose and enjoyed the details and we just went to the back to get some pictures. I will say I can honestly appreciate that they have a reservation sign up for the back of the caboose which makes so much sense. Time and time again we have gone to coffee shops and too many people are just hogging up areas and or treating the coffee shops like it's their personal office area so i definitely appreciate that you must make a reservation to enjoy the experience of the caboose. Other coffee shops should get on board with this kind of idea...pun intended! (Wink wink) Our experience was definitely a great one and looking forward to a not so windy day to be able to enjoy the patio area outside. Great staff, great drinks! Definitely a must visit!

It's comfortable, welcoming, and there's plenty of space to sit down and get some work done. They also have some great food options and normally offer fresh made bakery items. Unfortunately, their baker is currently out, so the selection was a little limited this visit, but what they did have was amazing. I've tried both the cortado and the Cubano. They absolutely nailed the cortado. The Cubano was a fun surprise. It's Brickhouse's take on a café con leche, served in a 4 oz mug and made with steamed half-and-half rather than condensed milk. As a Cuban, I can be pretty particular about anything calling itself Cuban coffee but this definitely works. It hits the right flavor notes and gives you that rich, creamy coffee experience I'm looking for. This place rocks. Great coffee, great atmosphere, friendly place to work, and definitely somewhere I'll keep coming back to.

So, I finally decided to stop in. Brickhouse is located in a larger strip center set back from Fall Creek Road at 96th. It has both indoor and outdoor tables. There's a curb-cut almost directly in front of it, and nearby parking offers accessible options. This strip center is actually fairly old, though Brickhouse moved in not long after the pandemic hit as I recall. It has survived and thrived, from what I've been told, because of their quality products, winning ambience, and friendly service. This is the retail home of Brickhouse Roasters. There's a strong element of faith as the cornerstone of Brickhouse as the owners were missionaries, and their stated mission involves using their coffeehouse as a training platform for missionaries. Brickhouse is locally owned and Indy-based. You can get their beans here, and there's a wide variety of options. Basic options include coffees, lattes, espressos, and all the varieties one would expect. Brickhouse also carries Nelson Teas, Thrive Kombucha, Pure Memory Water, Triple X Root Beer, Martinelli Apple Juice, Natalie Orange Juice, Evian Sparkling Water, imported Mexican sodas and other options. Brickhouse has breakfast and lunch options, baked goods, and quite a bit more. The ambience is definitely a winner. It's intimate yet bold, comfortable yet sort of invigorating. The employees I met were super friendly on a quiet Sunday morning. They are open seven days a week, though there's some variance in their hours. As someone who is almost embarrassingly devoted to my Keurig, I was pleasantly surprised to see they do have some pod options for retail. I'd just gone to a Yelp event, so I kept it pretty simple on this visit and picked up an iced coffee. There's no doubt I'll be back to try the baked goods. I also noted the friendliness of the customers. That's always a good sign to me. As someone who is frequently alone, I tend to go to those places where I can connect even if it's just a passing friendliness. I felt that here. I'll be back.

It's obvious that these people really care about coffee and roast good beans. I got one of their summer specialty drink, Wake up San Francisco. It was a blackberry lavender Cuban. Never had a Cuban coffee drink before and honestly, I forgot what the barista told me it was, but it was pretty similar to a cortado in its milk vs. espresso ratio. The coffee was really good and I loved the combo of blackberry and lavender. It wasn't too sweet or overpowering. The atmosphere was lively and friendly. It may have been a little too loud for me to actually work at, but I was also there during peak hours. Also got a chocolate chip cookie for and was delighted to see that it was actually cookies in the back! Great value.

We got lucky and happened to jump in line moments before the line was almost out the door. I went with their avocado toast and a seasonal lavender blackberry latte with oat milk. Both were delicious! The latte was recommended by one of their baristas and I'm so glad they told me about it. The avocado toast, while delicious, was a little difficult to eat since it's topped with arugula. I still ate every single bite. I will say that this spot wasn't the best environment to get work done. The wifi was really bad and I had to use my hotspot the entire time. It was also incredibly loud and I had to go outside to take a call. Not sure if it's because it was busy or the acoustics just amplified things or what. The restroom also didn't have any soap. On the plus side, there is a parking garage attached and it's free. Every member of their staff I came in contact with was fabulous as well. Overall, cool neighborhood coffee shop. I would return if I lived nearby.

So I felt slightly better about kind-of-not-really-but-yes-sort-of supporting a local coffee shop. They have a drive-thru, but I parked and went inside to get my coffee. The Sundays were playing over the speakers when I entered, which is always a good sign. I just ordered a black cup of coffee -- they have medium and dark roast drip coffee. It was good coffee, and surprisingly, it got better as it got cooler. I've never had that happen before! Usually, black coffee gets more bitter as it sits, but not so with Ziggi's. They sell a variety of baked goods, packaged cookies, premade breakfast burritos, as well as other beverages that aren't coffee, like smoothies, teas, and something called Energy Infusions. In fact, these kinds of drinks make up the majority of their menu, and their menu didn't even have regular coffee on it. I had to ask if they even sell drip coffee, and indeed they do. The people who work here were very friendly and super efficient. The location is great -- right off the I-70.
