Maple Park is an old school small town dive. Despite new ownership and some fresh paint, that perception will never change. The place is known for 'Over the Top' Burgers, and they bring it! Stopped in for a quick lunch with the family after the pumpkin farm. Staff was great and accommodating our larger party. Food was excellent and live music was great too! Ripped Jeans Duo was the band playing and they sounded great. Will stop by again! read more

Nice little small town bar and grill. For myself, I had the Hangover burger, onion rings and wings. The burger was a simple 8oz patty with a fried egg and bacon. It was cooked right to medium and seasoned properly. Nothing complicated about it. It was well made and tasted really good. Simple onion rings and simple fries. The wings fried crispy and still juicy. I have no complaints, if you like a bar atmosphere and simple good food this is a definite place to try. I enjoyed myself very much. read more

Have purchased 2 different carry out family meals in the last 2 weeks. Both have been really gOod. The shepherd's pie was great and the BBQ chicken was fall off tHe bone tender - with great flavor and excellent sides. Their frues are perfect - great size and texture as well as ooerfectky cooked. The staff has been great - delivering right to the car to minimize contact. This is one of the small places we need to support and assure they survive the current situation. I guess I expected something similar to Lodi Tap, but it was much more pedestrian. Burgers, beef, brats and the like. Hubs had a cheeseburger (no blue cheese burgers, to his disappointment. IMHO if you want to be known for burgers you gotta have a blue burger!) and it was good. However his poppers were still frozen in the middle, so just the same old poppers everybody else has. Wonderful place that I've enjoyed for years. The new additions the owners have put in are perfect and provide a fun and pretty place for family and friends to converse. The only issue I've come across is there is no longer free popcorn provided. This simple and cheap addition was a big perk in my eyes and something my friends and I enjoyed, as it is such a rare find that I always found so unique to this bar. read more

The burgers are bomb and great place to chill. I'd rate 5 stars but this its easier to get a table at Gibson's Steak House on a Friday night than it is here. I thought it was weird there just 3 large tables set up to seat 6+ people (all taken of course) and a ton of unused space that could have had other smaller tables to fit more guests. I really wanted to love this small town pub, but the slow service, mediocre food and indifferent attitude of the owner proved otherwise. Although our server was apologetic, the many assurances of "your food is next" over the 2 hours we were there was anything but satisfactory. Great burger!!! Imbodens from Dekalb provides a very tasty ground round cut making their burgers epic! Nicely seasoned! I do wish the bun was Brioche but maybe that can change (hint hint). Update: I keep making the hour drive to Maple Park Pub for their 13 oz. master piece burger. If you go on Wednesday, all burgers are priced at $5.00!!!! This is a terrific small town bar with friendly staff, good food, and a terrific patio. I hope they survive the pandemic. But when my wife and I went there for dinner last night we had to walk through the bar room to get to the patio. Not a single person in the bar including the bartender was wearing a mask. (The wait staff were wearing masks.) This is exactly the kind of behavior that drives up the infection rate, and if it gets too high then the state will be forced to shut down again and all the people in that bar will blame Pritzker when really it will be their own fault, and the fault of the owners of this great little bar. Oh my goodness!! What happened to this place?!! It used to be fun, packed with people and a huge menu! Not anymore! There was hardly anybody in the restaurant on a Friday night. We got seated quickly and asked what we would like to drink very quickly. The waiter was great. Let's talk about the menu. If you can choose from five appetizers. We chose the spicy chicken curds, which were not bad. The wings, however, were a different story. They only come in one flavor. BBQ sauce. What that means is they serve you wings and barbecue sauce on the side. The 3 of us got burgers. The menu says they are 8 ounces and come with chips. $2 extra for fries. The burgers were cooked horribly. They were huge two. The chips were a bag of Lays potato chips. My burger was ordered well and there was still red dripping from the middle. My husband ordered medium well and had food poisoning the next day! There were only 6 items on the menu. Horrible food and overpriced! Good service. read more

We decided to try ordering dinner here after reading a few reviews. The beer selection they had was overall fine, they had two beers on tap that differed from your typical domestic draughts. The drinks were served in disposable cups which is a turnoff for us. We got a half order of the cheese nuggets to start, the amount you get for the half order is generous and plenty for two. My husband and i both ordered our burgers medium rare, we ended up getting them well done and dry, and mine had a hair in it. It wasn't the worst meal we've had, but was far from the best. In retrospect, I should have thought about how much meat 13 ounces is. Maple Park Pub & Grill is an excellent option for an enormous amount of bar food. And it is an enormous amount; the meat I would expect in 2 1/2 patties of beef, all shoved into one giant ball of meat. It was topped with lettuce, tomatoes and grilled onions. I ordered tots on the side (fries and a bag of Lays chips are the other options). The only downside to cooking nearly a pound of meat all at once, is that I requested "medium" and got "well done", with not a trace of pink to be found. Nonetheless I enjoyed my burger, though I was only able to eat half of it. It was well seasoned, cooked well, and quite greasy. The tots were cooked nicely, and even the tiny overcooked tots tasted good too. Overall, a good place to go for great bar food. read more

My motorcycle group makes an annual ride to Maple Park Pub to enjoy the great burgers that they produce. It's a shame that they're selling the place I hope the new owners keep it the way it is. After a day of prison ministry in Sheridan I had a craving for a good old bar burger and having remembered the good reviews MPP&G had received made it a good option to confirm yeah or nay. Prior to ordering a fellow customer gave it and other menu items a plug and so I was in the mood you may say. Talk about big it is most certainly one of this biggest bar burgers I had in a long. It reminded me of the 'Jaques burgers' I use to get at the Irish Mill in Mundelein some 20 years ago so that gives ya an idea when I say long time. It's on the very juicy side, so much the better. The fries were on par, and the cook and bartendress were both friendly and I didn't get the stare by others customers that one tends to get walking into a bar as a stranger, especially on a Friday night. If there is one negative it is that they are so good I'd could have one weekly but because I had those jock burgers and many other bar burgers some 20 years ago my blood pump is not in shape to take one on weekly but perhaps every month or two. read more

Honestly, the best resatuarant to enjoy a single burger with fries. In Maple Park, it's much more rural to enjoy there and you have almost by yourself to eat with your family and friends there on a good afternoon. However, it closes dinnertime by 6:00 or 8:00 because adults are only allowed due to Dinner switching to bar time. read more

The place is new and has beautiful features. Family friendly, yet still nice to do a date night. The transformation here has been outstanding. I would have given it 5 stars but I was a bit unnerved with a kitchen that closes at 9 PM on a Friday night. It was a beautiful summer night and I realize the kitchen staff has been slaving however, it was a rush. But a minor point. We should have phoned first. Our waiter was very sweet and super friendly and allowed us to place an order at 5 minutes til 9. I love the three different weights on the burgers and had the patty melt which was tremendous. They use good beef and serve quality bar food. For a long time the allure to Maple Park was The Lodi. The Pub has got it goin on too with a big clean space inside and out. A stage for live music on certain nights. An expansive biergarten. They have bags to play and this game with a long sting and a metal ring and you try to get it to land in this hook thingy.... I completely suck at this game. And of course, the preferred mode of transportation for the locals is a golf cart... you've got a Norman Rockwell painting in the making. read more
