My daughter and I had breakfast here today and I can't express enough how much I enjoy their menu. She had never been to the Redbar before, and had also never had a crumpet. So it was doubly pleasing to be able to introduce her to this pleasing restaurant with its eclectic cuisine. The breakfast menu is what usually draws my attention. Served anytime, not just normal breakfast hours, a customer can choose between crumpets, omelettes, french toast, or just the usual bacon and eggs. I usually order one of their crumpets, but today, chose their Loaded Omelette with cheese grits. More like a purée, the grits were superb, creamy and buttery. My omelette was delivered spicy and hot. Giving my daughter a taste we soon concluded that the sausage used reminded us of the blood sausage we have enjoyed for breakfast in Peru, when we travel there to visit my wife's family. This is certainly not a typical omelette for Mobile, Alabama. My only complaint about it is that it was slightly overcooked and dry. Nevertheless, it was very tasty. My daughter had the Fried Egg and Cheese Crumpet, that she reported to be delicious. A mix-up on my drink order brought me a Turkish coffee rather than a Turkish latte, and suspiciously weak to be considered Turkish. I suspect that the cashier heard "Turkish", but not "latte", and confused, may have decided to see if a regular Americano would pass as an acceptable substitute. Except for the jolt I was expecting to receive, from the latte I ordered, it was acceptable. I am eager to return again to try one of their "Build Your Own Smashburger." Until then I will continue to hold the opinion that I have yet to have a disappointing meal at the RedBar, and I rest assured that my meal on that day will be equally satisfying. read more

I have stopped here for lunch or dinner 3 times recently as the food is amazing and the staff great. if you are looking for a smaller portion check this place out. I have tried the stuffed mushroom, Shepards pie and a burger and all were fantastic. For a side I had the sweet potato casserole and it was ok, not my favorite as I found the potatoes to be slightly undercooked for my liking. Other than that every thing was amazing. The stuffed mushroom with balsamic reduction probably my favorite. Prices are really good too. The dining tables are old window with mason jars to drink from adding to the uniqueness. I passed this place all the time so I finally decided to give them a try. I ordered a large café, which everybody looked at each other when I ordered it like no one knew how to make it. I ordered a large, which was seven dollars and basically got a lot of hot water with very little coffee and cream in it. It was the worst I've ever had in my life. This was my first visit to the RedBar and it is at the new location closer to my house down Old Shell Rd- I had a London fog tea and banana crumpet. This was the first time I indulged in a crumpet and it is like a pancake and piecrust mixed together. Clay wanted something filling - so he had one of the red bar burgers yes you can get a burger early in the morning it was delicious homemade thin dill pickles. Real nice atmosphere and a fun place outside with ping-pong tables and a fire pit. Close to the University of South Alabama campus- we will be back! read more

As someone with experience in bar and beverage procurement, I can confidently say this is excessive and unjustifiable. It's hard to interpret this as anything other than price gouging. We had an omelet and Clarissa which is a breakfast sandwich on French bread. There was a small piece of very good chocolate served with our coffee. This is such a cute place. The ladies taking our order were super sweet and helpful. I had a pour over and the fried egg and cheese crumpet with potatoes. It was really good! Camera didn't get to eat first around the whole table but the pictures speak volumes! As soon as we walked in, we saw the bar, opened seating and a corner lounge with two love seats. It wasn't crowded. The music was enjoyable and not too loud. Our food was all around amazing. Definitely had a long wait but we had a pitcher of mimosas and it allowed us time to enjoy them as we waited for the food. All my pictures posted have captions of what we ordered. I love how many options are on the menu! From unique to classic. It doesn't disappoint either. The coffee is good and the reward system is a nice way to earn an extra cup of coffee after ten purchases. They have food options that I don't usually get but it looks like quality, I just am there for the coffee. The staff are usually nice but it seems like there's a decent amount of turnover. The new location is definitely an upgrade! So much seating, but with the old couches and chairs to tie it into the old location. The outside is really nice with lots more seating. The ping pong table is nice, but the cost to play is too much, so it'll probably just sit unused. read more

Every time I come to Mobile, AL, I make it a point to stop here for coffee. The service is excellent, they treat you very well and the people are friendly. The coffee drinks are excellent. I tend to always order Lattes but pretty much everything here is good. If you come through Mobile, you have to get your coffee at Redbar. read more

My husband got the red burger. He wasn't impressed with it. He said it was too tough for him. He's a pretty darn good smash burger cook himself so I'm not surprised he likes his better. I went in this groovy coffee shop to try it out. While I was sitting at the bar, a man behind the counter seemed to be in a bad mood and taking it out on his coworkers. I could just notice how he was being so negative while his coworkers were trying to stay positive. This time it was not so good either, it also took forever to get first latte then another 3-5 min before our second latte came. After our second latte finally showed up i asked the barista to take back the crumpet because it was horrible. Their smashburgers are delicious on that sourdough bread!! I had an amazing mocha and I love that it came with a little chocolate wafer to compliment the drink. We were there to watch a soccer game, and they had a big screen tv behind the bar. They have comfy couches to lounge in and lots of seating at the bar to gather with friends. We have also been there at night to enjoy cocktails and play ping pong on the outdoor patio!! This place is awesome and highly recommend as either a nice place to hang out with friends in the evening (or day) or I could totally see it being a favorite place for any South Alabama students to get a coffee drink and do school work. Wow, what a little super star of a coffee place in West Mobile! I have been hearing great things about this spot and today I hit a 3PM wall and needed coffee. I stopped in and immediately began to feel at home. Savannah was my barista and I could not have asked for better service. I let her know it was my first time in and she asked what do I like? I told her my preferences and she brewed up a latte that made me smile! I grabbed my laptop and settled in and did some work. Hubby and I are planning a return trip later this week for breakfast...do I try a crumpet or an omelette? I know one thing for sure, I will have another cup of java! The place is really hip - decked out in red & black! There are comfy couches to relax in. Tables for working at and a neat bar if you just want to sit and talk to Savannah. By the way, she is extraordinary with customers and so interesting to talk with. A very talented young lady! I love the organic whole milk for my coffee, and of course you can pick almond or coconut as an option. They offer so many syrups to flavor your cup. They even do a French press and a New Orleans style. I was surprised to see grass fed beef burgers on the menu for lunch or dinner! There are definitely healthy options on the menu thanks to the foresight of the owner. I really appreciate places with great choices.
