Came around 2:30 not very busy. Had a Cerveza preparada, delicious. Not to be missed . Also had the rock cod fixed ranchero style. Trying something outside of the normal, I was not disappointed. Definitely worth it. Will come back to try the oysters . The fish yes get . The cerveza preparada get!!! Service is great. And food tasty.

New items on the menu are so fire! Definitely recommend! Service was very fast this time around and the music playing in the background had the tequila going down like water!

We stopped by lunch. 4x al pastor tacos $12 and lengua super nachos $17. The restaurant was 1/2 full. The food came out within 10 minutes. That's great for those of us that have only an hour for our lunch breaks. The food tasted fine. There's was a smokey flavor to their refried beans in the nachos. Good job staff at Mar Y Mar.

Ive been coming here for many years, and for good reason. The tacos, fried whole fish, campechana and drinks bever disappoint. Then add the amazing staff and welcoming personalities, make you never want to leave. It gets crowded, as it should and at times service could be slow, so be patient, but quality food takes time to make.

I ordered the taco dinner, which was very well prepared and served in generous portions. The flavors were well balanced, and the meal was both satisfying and filling. Although I did not take photos of the shrimp cocktail, it was excellent--fresh, well seasoned, and reminiscent of authentic Mexican cuisine. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience and a meal I would confidently recommend.

Three stars is appropriate, but I'd come back if I were in the area. Feels authentic, since they default to Spanish when talking to you. I definitely look like a gringo, but my Spanish is pretty good, so I didn't mind. They bring chips and salsa right away, but the salsa wasn't like anything I've had before. It was very thin without much chopped veggies. Kinda weird, to me anyway. Chili verde (pork) was good, I ate it all. I know it's a seafood place, but maybe next time I'll try that. Also, idk why everything is so damn expensive lately. This ain't taqueria prices. One margarita, one entree and one beer was $42 with tip.

I was visiting family in the bay and was craving mariscos. The restaurant looks freshly remodeled so it definitely is modernized. The staff was very easy going and knew how to strike good conversation. I started off with what they call a preparada which to my understanding is their version of a Michelada. It was different but had a great taste so I had to order a second one. I also ordered a coctel de camaron y pulpo (shrimp and octopus) and it was right on the money. Everything tasted fresh and it didn't taste like Clamato and ketchup which I loved. To my understanding they have a live band every Friday. I would def recommend this if you're in the area.

Really great Mexican seafood spot on San Mateo Ave in San Bruno. Came in late on a Monday and really enjoyed ourselves. Had the oysters which were excellent... super fresh and great with lime Also, had the whole fried red snapper which was cooked perfectly and really delicious. Kids enjoyed the chicken quesadillas, which were meaty and substantial. Enchiladas looked excellent as well. Overall food was great, service was fine if a bit inattentive, and the place just seemed like it could use a bit of a cleanup. Also, would have loved some homemade tortilla chips to go with the excellent salsa.

Monday night: walked in around 8pm and it wasn't busy. Staff were very friendly. Prices and taste are even better! Got 5 tacos, ($3 each) and a side of beans ($5). And a 23 ounce of Pacifico on draft for $6. You cant beat this price for a big glass of beer on tap! Anyways, the chorizo, al pastor and carnitas tacos were freaking amazing. It's been a while that a taco made me say "wow" out loud. These were jam packed with flavor. Free chips and decently spicy flavored salsa. A big juke box that locals were playing good Mexican music on and gets kinda loud, which is fun but not if you want a conversation with someone I bet. I was alone for a work trip so it was awesome! Definitely coming back if I'm in the area!

Such a cute spot! Came here on a Sunday and was seated in less than 5 minutes. The service was good as the workers were really nice. I got the super burrito with carne asada and the meat was perfectly chewy and easy to bite. There was also a good amount of sour cream and guac in the burrito which I liked. However, I wasn't really a fan of the tortilla as it was kind of hard but overall this place was great to try!

This was our second time back and we had the same experience. The place was busy with nearly every table filled, and mostly filled with happy Spanish speaking people which is a good sign. The salsa and chips are yummy. The service is really friendly, but maybe not so attentive. Granted they were busy on both occasions. If we wanted more drinks or the check, we had to wave someone down. Their platters always sound good but taste wise, they are only ok. We've tried the Camarones a la Diabla and a whole Fish. The sauce is spicy and flavorful with an odd after taste. I can't pinpoint it. The rice and beans are good but the salad has no dressing and the protein is over cooked. The Fish Ceviche and Shrimp Tostada were ok. The corn tortillas were great. Their Tacos, however, are really good. We had the Carnitas, Carne Asada, and Al Pastor, all made super. The meat was all flavored well. There was so much filling that I was able to split some with my tortillas to make another taco. My son had a flour Cheese Quesadilla. It was very large and so gooey. The cheese was of high quality, not oily, and melted really well. The cheese tasted yummy. My son loved his quesadilla. Their Cadillac Margaritas were outstanding. The Paloma was ok. I'm so glad they have a full bar. Plus they had a live band playing which we loved. It was Cinco de Mayo though, so I'm not sure if they play on regular nights. Our previous visit was on a Saturday afternoon.

"Great hole-in-the-wall Mexican near SFO airport"…read more Came here for dinner at 6pm on a Monday night, based on good Yelp reviews. The place is unassuming-- has a thin stretch of outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. Not super bright in lighting, and a TV inside was showing a baseball game. Seemed like a lot of the business was takeout, as people would come, hover, get food, and leave. I was GOING to order the fish tacos or a fish quesadilla, but I was swayed by the picture of a breaded fish plate special. My son got the carne asada quesadilla, and others at the table got a veggie burrito and a chicken bowl. Food came out pretty quick-- maybe around or just over 10 minutes (the fish plate and veggie burrito came out slightly after the other two). I was very impressed that the fish plate looked even BETTER than the photo (see photos of both). The fish was HUGE. There was a generous helping of guacamole, lots of fresh avocado slides, some onion and cabbage, etc. There was a nice bed of lettuce on the side with sour cream over it, and the rice & beans (covered with a thin layer of cheese) on another side. The fish plate was just delicious. The batter wasn't overpowering or too heavy, and the fish was excellent inside (and very flat). I really liked the sauce in a little cup on the fish, or having it with avocado or guacamole, or even straight. The rice and beans were yummy too. Such a great dish, and it was under $20 before tax and tip. My dining companions all liked their food, though my son said the carne asada meat was "just good" (he had a bite of the chicken and said that was better). The person at the register was friendly. And as mentioned, the prices were very reasonable. I'd happily eat here again if in the area. Great portion size, great quality, good value, etc. Enjoy!

The cups were filled only halfway. The woman (Imelda was the name on the receipt) told Z that they didn't fill the cups up to the brim because of the no ice request. So....does that mean that they fill up cups with 50% ice?? Any way that you look at it, it's CHEAP and a major turn off. For my dish, I ordered the Tijuana Taco Salad ($16.75), requesting to separate ONLY the bowl-shaped flour tortilla shell from the contents (with no cheese). To ensure that they understood my simple request, I repeated to keep the salad contents in one container and the flour tortilla shell separate from everything. What I received was a fully deconstructed taco salad - every salad ingredient was packed separately. Pretty frustrating that they didn't follow the easy and straightforward instructions. DJ ordered the A-1 GRANDE COMBINACION of Enchilada, Chile Relleno and Taco, replacing the taco with another chile relleno and specifying his enchilada as cheese with Mole sauce. Another fail - the enchilada was filled with chicken AND topped with red sauce. DJ is a vegetarian, so what he received was not something that he could eat. Extremely upsetting, Z tried to call them and knock on their door to discuss the issues with our order. No one bothered to pick up the phone nor answer the locked door. Very disappointing. Like I said in my original review, service, even for take-out, is under par at Celia's San Bruno. We haven't experienced such majorly low quality of service at locations #1 through #5 above. Severely unsatisfactory.

The food came quickly, and the elote tots were amazingly good! The combination of tater tots, the corn, and the cheeses (sauce and crumbled) was amazing mix of textures and flavors. The nachos were good, and the pasta with poblano sauce was also very good. The sauce was creamy, with a slight heat, and very different. The soy chorizo was not my favorite, and in the nachos, the crumbled form of the soy chorizo was better suited as an add than as a side to the pasta (maybe it was intended to be mixed in, but I wanted to eat it separately). The chicken in the taco was quite dry, but with the habanero salsa helped quite a bit. The tortillas for the tacos were really good though. The tacos are quite big but definitely would go for their carne asada instead. For the burrito, it was greasy from the grill, but overall it was fine. The carne asada had good flavor and crisp to it. Their pico de gallo is still one of the best and wish I had asked for extra inside the burrito. Not a ton of rice which was nice, good portion of meat, but for a super there was very small amount of sour cream and guac to the point it wasn't very noticeable. Overall, not a bad spot in a pinch for a quick meal. This was a popular spot for me in the late 00s and like coming back every once in a while for nostalgia.
