I order two lunch specials and both came with soda. The beef lyula is so flavorful and juicy. The chicken was tender and tasty too. Portion is pretty decent with a side of rice and onion salad. The plov was great-- huge chunks of lamb but a little dry. The rice was tasty and not overly oil like other spots. The only con was the bread. It was definitely stale. The salad was very fresh. The worker was really nice and told us we can change the soda if I wanted.

Very good. Just realized the restaurant is just around the corner in my neighborhood. Impressed with their avocado salad and kebabs. Will come back for more in the future.

We popped in for a quick lunch on a weekend. My group had 3 adults and 2 children (1 year old and 3 year old). We had to flag a serve down to place our order, get water, etc. We ordered multiple skewers, Uzbek rice, and a tomato salad. The food was tasty, and the potions were enough for all of us.

I met a friend here for lunch. Inside was a quaint little restaurant. The waitress was friendly and answered our questions patiently. We've never had Ubek cuisine before. We ordered skewers, eggplant salad, bread, and Baba Ghanoush. The Baba Ghanoush is very smoky and smooth. The warm bread was great for dipping into the Baba Ghanoush and sopping up the juices from the skewers. The eggplant salad was a surprise. The eggplants were fried sitting in a bed of greens with sticky sweet dressing poured over it, very addictive. The skewers were the best. We got the salmon, beef skirt, beef filet mignon, veal liver, and lamb ribs. They were all seasoned perfectly, tender, and juicy. I'm still thinking about it. Definitely, we will be back.

I've never had Uzbek cuisine, but now I'm a fan! I loved their chicken or beef wraps with hummus and fries. Their dumpling soup was delicious too. I can't wait to try the other items on their menu next time. Service was fast, friendly, and helpful. I ordered and got my food in 15 minutes with an easy to carry shopping bag and utensils. Aside from a minor struggle to find street parking, this is a yummy place for a quick bite or sit down meal.

First time i ordered take out...I thought the food was decent but not the best I have had...Dined at the restaurant the 2nd time the bread was stale, service not great, it was ok experience...I have been to better Uzbeki places....Not sure i will return.

To start off, the compot (fruit drink) and plov were delicious. The beef was well cooked and the rice was beautifully seasoned. The samsa was okay-- not super flavorful and a little dense. The mixed jiz biz (lamb with fries) was good. The lamb was perfectly cooked, but was much gamier and fattier than lamb I get at other places (Turkish and Persian). The one thing to note if you eat in person-- they charge a mandatory 15% service fee, and then on the final receipt, the recommended **additional** tip is 18%, 20%, and 22%. Just double check your bill to make sure you're not accidentally tipping 35%. The service itself also wasn't great-- there was no tap water and so we were charged for a bottle of water, and it took a while for us to get the bill.

The food here was amazing, and great value! The rice plov (pilof) was very well done, and full of flavor on each bite. We ordered a large portion of the menu and pretty much everything was delicious. My issue with the restaurant was that there was a lingering smell, and the table felt a bit greasy as we sat down. They could potentially just be having an off day. Regardless, the food is worth trying!

First time eating here and having Uzbek food to celebrate a family birthday. Surprised that it is more casual, with chandeliers though; and is very family-friendly. Music was playing and noticed that it was someone singing live. Gozleme was served more like a quesadilla than flatbread. Without the dip, the ground meat was a bit plain. The fried small dumplings looked like tortellinis. A bit too crispy though to taste the filling so will try the steamed next time. The hummus and babaghanoush (preferred this, with a slight spiciness) went well with the warm toasted bread. We liked the plov with tender lamb and veggies. Their skewers were cooked well, still juicy and tasty. I usually wouldn't order chicken but they were good here. Lunch specials available. Great service from the minute we went in and throughout the dinner - our young server was very pleasant and friendly; offered to refrigerate the bday cake, then lights were dimmed and bday song was played when it was brought out.

Plov was very flavorful and the beef was tender, shredded atop a bed of rice and with sweet pieces of corn and spices. The lamb leg shish kebab was tender while the veal liver wasn't too organ-y. The baba ganoush was a tad more solid than what I've been used to.

Large Uzbek restaurant that serves halal. If you come during Ramadan, be sure to make a reservation since it gets full for iftar. Dates and water are provided for iftar. The food and service were great. They also have a section for prayers. The samsas are flaky and delicious especially paired with the sauce. The tandir gosht is so tender and a bit smoky. The plov was also very good but the meat is a bit dry. Overall everything was great! Would definitely come back!

Who doesn't like Uzbeki cuisine?!?! I always jump at a chance to go for Uzbeki food, and so should you. What a treat! I have driven by this place so many times, and they always catch my eye. 12 of us ventured out to Marakand for the first time a few weeks ago, and we were pleasantly surprised! Service and hospitality were great; food was tasty and fabulous! Our menu (shared by 4 ppl): - Tandir Samsa ($3.49 each): these were phenomenal!! Filled with delicious seasoned lamb; fresh out of the oven and heavenly. But be careful because they're super HOT; don't burn your tongue! (5/5) - Barak ($9.99/small): these tiny boiled meat dumplings were delicious; especially with the side of sour cream. This was a simple dish but packed with flavor. (4/5) - Gozleme w.ground meat ($7.99): I though this was supposed to be a baked flatbread pizza-like dish, but what we got was more of a quesadilla-type dish. I was slightly disappointed but it was still pretty tasty. (3.5/5) - Persian Salad ($9.99): Basic cucumber, tomato & onions salad. Went really well with all our meat dishes. (3.5/5) - Plov ($14.99): Fantastic! The generous portion of lamb was tender and the rice with raisins & carrots were seasoned well. (5/5) - KEBABS: -----Luyla Kebab ($5.99/skewer): seasoned ground beef; alsoluted delicious! Recommended! (5/5) -----Lamb Rib Kebab ($6.99/skewer): a tad bit tough but tasty. (4/5) -----Lamb Leg Kebab ($6.99/skewer): Perfection! Recommended! (5/5) -----Beef Skirt Kebab ($6.99/skewer): Perfection! Recommended! (5/5) I would definitely return to Marakand to try their other dishes and Kebabs! Good for large groups but I recommend making reservations. They have a huge menu to explore, and I look forward to a return visit soon! Note that this is a Halal establishment; absolutely no liquor allowed.

For appetizers, we got the Sabzi which was a nice vegetarian option with spinach, as well as the small afghan salad (normal diced cucumbers and tomatoes), the mantu dumplings which were pretty good and the Afghan naan which is just a vehicle for eating the dips. I would 1000% come here again and bring a friend if I were in Astoria. It seems popular with both locals and larger groups of families; lots of the tables inside had kids. It appears to be BYOB though we stuck to sparkling water.

You get two tender thighs and a drumstick, all seasoned and spiced perfectly. The long grain rice is delicious, and the portions are genuinely massive for the price. They include three sauces on the side, but honestly the chicken is flavorful enough on its own that I haven't really needed them. It's kind of like a middle eastern quesadilla with cheese, vegetables, and meat but with a thinner bread layer that's crispy. The portion size of this was enormous--I'd honestly say it's enough for 5-6 people to share. Between the two of us, it stretched into 6-8 meals, and it reheated exceptionally well in the air fryer without losing its texture or flavor. We also ordered the beef shawarma platter and the chicken shawarma wrap (which was only around $13). I was pleasantly surprised by the chicken shawarma--it was flavorful, well-seasoned, and not overly dense or dry like shawarma can sometimes be. It ended up being one of the better wraps we've had! If you're debating whether this place travels well for delivery, I'd confidently say yes. The food maintained its quality remarkably well, which isn't always the case with Mediterranean food. That said, after this experience, I'm even more excited to visit the restaurant in person one day. One thing to keep in mind: the portions are generous and many of the dishes are quite hearty. If you're trying to eat lighter or are watching your calories, I'd recommend opting for one of their salads, like the fattoush, alongside your meal. Highly recommended whether you're ordering through DoorDash or dining in. We'll definitely be ordering again--and making a trip to Astoria to experience it fresh from the kitchen.

It was #25 on The New York Times' 2026 list of the 100 Best Restaurants in New York City, and being Lebanese myself, I wanted to finally check it out. The service & hospitality is amazing; you can't beat Arab hospitality. As we were waiting for our food, one of the workers gave us a fresh Zaatar Manousheh. It was incredible! The zaatar was just as good as it is in Lebanon and the dough is fluffy, light, and super fresh. The Mix Grill was smaller than expected for ~$30. The meats were all tender, well-seasoned, and juicy. They have a few sauces to choose from and all were good. I would get the Levant sauce and white sauce again! If it was a sandwich, I would definitely get the garlic sauce again. There was so much rice and fries left compared to the amount of meat we got. It just felt like something was missing or it needed more protein. The Mixed Feteer was so satisfying! Everything here is freshly made and it's evident from the crispy feteer exterior to the cheese pull and steaming ingredients inside. The white sauce helps cut through some of the fat and the Levant sauce added a slight kick to it. Both were delicious! It's loaded with ingredients and easily shareable among 2-4 people. Although space is tight, I would recommend coming with friends or ordering to go so you can try more items since they have so many delicious options on the menu. There's so much I still want to try; I would absolutely come back!

There are many other options in the area, but I have always come enjoyed this place, and now I treasure it more than ever before. The decor is a bit loud and gaudy for me personally. I always preferred the interior design of Taste of Samarkand or Art of Grill, but I'm okay with Stix's decor because it's bright and clean. More importantly, I love the food at this place. Every time I come here, it's absolutely fantastic. They shine at grilling skewers, so I'll start with that. You really can't go wrong, but I would always get the lamb, lamb ribs, beef, baby chicken, chicken w/ bones, and sea bass. The lola kebab and the chicken lola kebab are not bad, but definitely better at Art of Grill. For the more adventurous, try the veal sweet bread, veal liver, and lamb fat. The only kebabs I am not a big fan of here are the quail. As for appetizers, you have to get their flavorful Uzbek mantu. However, crispy cheburek and flaky samsa are both excellent too. Herring Garnish is very tasty as well. Moving onto salads, I typically order the Humus and Babaganush for dipping with the Tandoori Bread. Korean Carrot is also a nice starter. If you are fond of soup, then I highly recommend Osh-Potche. Lastly, Asian Pilaf is a nice way to end the meal when dining at an Uzbek restaurant, though I think their version is average. When all is said and done, every meal is always amazing. The cost of the meal is always reasonable. And a good time is always had by all every time.
