A little Italian cuisine girl dinner in the heart of Little Italy Maranello has arrived in little Italy and it is bringing authentic Italian flavors and Ferrari vibes. It's the perfect spot for a girls' dinner or a night out in San Diego with impeccable service. Add good food good wine and even better company and you have the recipe for a great night. Beef pasta soup. Not too heavy nor salty!

I recently had dinner at Maranello and I can't wait to go back! The restaurant has a beautiful Ferrari-inspired design that feels modern and upscale. We started with the beef pasta Soup and the silverstone salad, both of which were fresh and flavorful. I was worried the beef pasta soup would be too salty, but it wasn't at all! The standout appetizer, though, was the filetto tartare with cheese fondue. This was unlike anything I've ever had before and am salivating just thinking about it! For our entrees, we ordered the risotto and the porcini mushroom ravioli. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and had rich, well-balanced flavors. The drinks were just as memorable. We had the stallion and the tiramisu espresso martini. I loved how refreshing the stallion was and it wasn't too sweet. I'm not a big tiramisu fan, but we ordered the tiramisu, and I have to say it was quite tasty and not overly sweet. The service was exceptional. Sometimes when a restaurant first opens there's some kinks they need to work out, but I didn't experience that at Maranello. I can't wait to go back!

Maranello has opened in a Little Italy corner suite where a Latin American fusion restaurant operated for less than 18 months. The ownership group has remained the same as they decided to close the predecessor and rebrand with a moniker of "elevated Italian cuisine." The interior was refurbished with a race car theme including a red color associated with high end Italian automakers. I sat at a small table across from the central bar area. The Cheese Wheel Pasta was a featured item as it seems to be at more and more upscale Italian eateries. I didn't ask what the market price was because it may vary depending on which proteins and noodles were included in the dish. I noticed a server rolling a cart around the dining room with the cheese wheel as people were ordering it. Antipasti, salads, pasta, and entrees were the categories on the menu sheet. The first appetizer caught my eye which was the Calabrian Charcoal Bread. It was five pieces of blackened bread served with a whipped butter containing Calabrian 'Nduja. Between the black bread and the orange butter, this was a perfect pairing... for Halloween. The butter had a bit of spiciness that may catch customers off guard if they were not paying attention to the menu description. The charcoal bread was soft but not as moist as I had hoped. I also ordered the Pappardelle All'Anatra from the eight different Hand Crafted Pasta. Roasted duck ragout was served with truffle stracciatella that had an earthy flavor to the cheese. Normally, I eat pappardelle with a tomato sauce of some type so for this version to be made with a brown gravy was different. The noodles were cooked just right. While I was waiting for this dish, a complimentary cup of beef bone broth (Brodo) with cheese tortellini was provided to whet my appetite which I appreciated. The service from the multiple staff members was very pleasant. I think it was the second day of business when I visited so they were likely trying to impress the customers. For the food quality and prices, I gave a four star rating for my dinner at Maranello.

Yes another good Italian restaurant in Little Italy! Ferrari inspired with full bar! Food is excellent and bar service exemplary! Come early so parking not as bad. Personnel are well trained and so friendly!

We went to Maranello for girlfriends' bday. The food was amazing. We loved the black pasta shrimp dish. The service was awesome. The place was very nice. We loved the desserts as well. Can't wait to come back.

So I was a tad nervous about this place because honestly most of the Italian food in little Italy is very generic, overpriced and does not taste authentic at all. I was also a little thrown off with the Ferrari theme since im not a car person. However, I am so so glad we tried this place because the food was awesome. Most authentic Italian food I have had in San Diego. My family literally loved everything we had which was the: -sarti spritz: lighter than an Aperol spritz. Very refreshing -complimentary soup: the broth was so delicious almost like a French onion with home made noodles. Very pleasant surprise. -charcoal bread: nice texture with a spicy cheese spread -artichokes: perfectly cooked with almost a hollandaise like sauce -menelo salad: champagne vinaigrette on the frisè was yum -lasagna: perfectly cooked ratio of sauce noodles and cheese with béchamel -radiator pasta: pasta cooked to perfection and a more pungent creamy cheese sauce -tiramisu: traditional and good -cannoli: traditional and good The staff were all very attentive and friendly and you can truly see how much the manger cares about the restaurant with his warm welcome upon seating. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and I will be back to try everything else on the menu!

I was at Maranello celebrating a dear friend's birthday, and I have to say, it was such a beautiful and memorable experience. Dining out these days can be incredibly expensive, and unfortunately, the food doesn't always live up to the occasion. But after having an absolutely amazing dinner at Vincenzo in Little Italy the week before--where everything from the food and ambiance to the staff and location was truly five-star--I felt confident that this celebration would be just as special. And I was right! Maranello exceeded our expectations and made our celebration another unforgettable experience. From the beautiful location and freshly made menu to the warm, attentive staff, every detail felt thoughtfully done. What makes this experience even more impressive is that the group of owners behind these restaurants owns more than ten establishments. I believe that level of experience is reflected in the consistency, quality, and attention to detail. It's not easy to maintain such a high standard across multiple restaurants, and they truly seem to have mastered it. I'm genuinely grateful for experiences like this--wonderful food, beautiful surroundings, exceptional hospitality, and, most importantly, the opportunity to celebrate life and friendship with people we love. Maranello made our celebration truly special and, once again, unforgettable.

We had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious and packed with so much flavor. Everything we tried was amazing, and the drinks were just as good! You can really tell they put a lot of care into everything they serve. The staff were also so sweet, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I'd recommend and come back to again!

First of all, amazing ambiance and decor. I love the Ferrari theme and the name Maranello (birthplace of Ferrari and HQ if you didn't know). Check out the different engine and car parts used as decor in the space. They are so cool! Second- the food and service was unbelievable. I came with a friend for girl's night on Friday night and we had a great time. Our server April was attentive and sweet. The manager, Andrea, came and checked in on us too. They both had a great energy about them. FOOD: The decor and energy are what make a place memorable, but the food is also 10/10. This is what we had: BRODO with Tortellini. We received this as a welcome gift and amuse bouche type. I love something like this. The brodo was amazing and this was a truly high class touch. Calabrian Charcoal Bread: SO good and unexpected. The butter has a bit of kick which was so tasty Octopus Carpaccio: I will be dreaming about this octopus carpaccio. Best octopus I have ever had. It was so thinly sliced, flavored, and beautifully arranged. Highly recommend Heirloom Tomato Burrata: THIS WAS SO COOL. There is like a surprise inside of it. Not your typical Italian restaurant Heirloom Tomato appetizer. Get it. It's a showstopper Pappardelle all'anatra: My friend got this pasta dish and it was unbelievable. Rich, silky, beautiful. Ruotina Di Mare: This was innovative, given the theme. Little black tire pasta in a rich sauce with shrimp. So cool. Loved it. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was to die for. And the drinks were amazing too. I had the Italian Stallion which was really flavorful and different with the passionfruit and aperol. My friend had the Sarti Spritz which was sooo good. My new favorite spritz. Move over Aperol, Campari, and Hugo, there is a new Spritz on the block and her name is Sarti. 10/10 Experience and food. If you are in Little Italy, looking for something different. Try Maranello.

Such an amazing new Italian restaurant in little Italy!!! What really makes this restaurant stand out is how immersive it feels. Whether you're a Ferrari fan or simply looking for a new & unique Italian restaurant, this is an experience that's unlike anywhere else. They had a combination of authentic Italian flavors in the dishes (lasagna was my favv), incredible attention to detail, and the yummiest desserts! I'll definitely be coming back, and I'd recommend it to anyone!!

If fruity drinks are not your jam... what are you doing in a Tiki Bar!! No really, they have great options for on the rocks or straight as well as ordering your favorite cocktail or beer. They have a ton of options, all sorts of alcohol bases depending on what your vice is, they also have non-alcoholic drinks for those so inclined. Hard to pass on a Mai Tai or a Zombie to start your evening off. lately I have been enjoying the Eastern Sour which is their take on a whiskey sour. It's always fun when someone orders a bowl and the room shakes and the lights flash with thunder and lightning adding a bit of excitement for first timers. Just to recap: Don't get mad if you have to wait and did not make a reservation. While they have lots of options, most drinks and all specialties are Tiki Drinks. Tiki drinks can be strong, mind yourself. If a place like this is not your vibe, that is fine, head back into Craft & Commerce, make room for others who are waiting to get in, just have fun!

Parking is a nightmare good luck finding parking within a mile of the restaurant. Pros: atmosphere, drinks, service Cons: food wasn't great for the price, restaurant was small and crowded, no parking Service: All of our servers were friendly and very accommodating. Gave us some knowledge on the menu and recommended cocktails based on our preference. I had spilled my drink and they were quick to make me another one. Food: I had intended to get the prime ribeye cap steak but they ran out for the night around 8pm. I shared the steak sampler which came with four different cuts of steak and 4 sauces. I ordered medium and it was cooked medium/medium rare which was fine with me, it also had a good sear, almost burnt though. Out of the four steaks, we only liked two based off flavor and tenderness. The other two were more tough and gamey. None of the sauces really stood out but the bordelaise and horseradish were good. For our sides we got fries, roasted broccoli, and the grilled wedge salad. Fries were average. The roasted broccoli had really good flavor, I expected the broccoli to be al dente but it was cooked to mush and drenched in sauce. The grilled wedge salad was decent, there was a slightly bitter taste to it. I know it says grilled wedge but the experience of biting into the salad and it being both hot and cold was not pleasant. Cocktails: I tried the Honey Ryder and New Wave. These were recommended as the more fruity/sweet cocktails. You can definitely taste the alcohol but it's only 2oz so it's not too strong. Ambience: 10/10 I got seated downstairs by the bar. Only thing about downstairs is that it's too dark to take photos unless you use flash. Overall, I agree with the other reviews saying to go just for drinks and appetizers. I would go again just to sit upstairs and get drinks and take pictures. Overall our experience was 5 stars. Our server was great and she is the one who recommended White Lover. Sorry cant remember her name. But had sandy blonde hair and was on the taller side. She actually jumped behind the bar to make a custom drink for all of us! The shooters were outstanding!! Highly recommend this speakeasy for the Asian inspired drink and food!!

The staff welcomed us so warmly and even accommodated our early reservation request such a lovely surprise. This hidden gem feels like a little escape from the city hustle, with such a calming vibe. The cocktails were fantastic Tokyo Banana was delicious, but the Yame Matcha was my favorite! Hubby had his whiskey, and we shared chicken karaage and fries. Such a fun, cozy date night and honestly, such a beautiful experience. We'll definitely be back!

This one is long overdue--not that they need my review, because by now everyone already knows how amazing this place is. What keeps me coming back is the combination of great music, an energetic vibe, outstanding service, and some of the most creative cocktails you'll find anywhere. Tonight was girls' night out, so we decided to order the prettier, and sweeter cocktails. But don't let the sweet flavors fool you--they are definitely generous with the alcohol. These drinks may taste dangerously easy to sip, but they pack a punch! I don't even remember the names of the cocktails we ordered, but honestly, that doesn't matter because the menu changes so often. And that's one of the things I love most about Music Bar. Every visit brings something new, fresh, and exciting to try. Both of my drinks were absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. I honestly don't know how the bartenders come up with these combinations, but kudos to the team for constantly pushing their creativity while still making every cocktail incredibly well balanced. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, Music Bar never disappoints. I'll definitely keep coming back to see what new creations they come up with next. Cheers to one of my favorite cocktail spots in San Diego!

Speakers and vinyls line the walls. Vibes are more elevated here than at your usual bar. I ordered the Nickel Fortune, which came out with a fun tarot card. It was a savory drink with a nice lingering of sesame oil after each sip. Seating is pretty limited inside, so reservations are recommended. CMB's website states that "cocktail attire is celebrated."

Items such as scrupulously prepared meatballs, fried polenta, spaghetti with mushroom sauce, etc., from the prior next-door, connected purveyor "Soda and Swine"...but those days are done ...I digress. And where is Soda and Swine's Yelp page? I know I did a review, but now the page appears gone completely in search? Nah, it's just hidden, presumably to accommodate Fortunate Sons, which opened about a year ago after re-construction of both establishments. I'm too lazy to see if still owned by Consortium Group. I did search my reviews and found my updated Soda & Swine review dated 8 & 10 years ago. O_o !! Now, food is still served, however, there's a new name in town called "Fortunate Son" (next door, connected). Apparently, food now served is Asian-inspired. I've not visited recently to taste. The North Park area is a great neighborhood with many different types of food close by. While you're there, don't forget to stop by "An's Dry Cleaners", where the most inventive gelato's, ice creams and sorbets come from.

Definitely make a reservation in advance through OpenTable because they fill up pretty quickly. There is also a deposit required, which you can lose if you no-show or cancel within 24 hours, but the deposit is refunded once you arrive for your reservation. When you arrive, a hostess greets you at the entrance. There's a small waiting area where you can sit until they come get you. Then there's a door where you press a button, and it opens to bring you into the restaurant/bar. Inside, there's a mix of tables and bar seating, and they serve food in addition to having an extensive cocktail menu. The drink menu was definitely the highlight for me. There were so many creative and unique cocktails that really stood out. I'm usually not a huge cocktail person because I don't like overly sweet drinks, and it can be surprisingly difficult to find cocktails that are both original and sophisticated enough to actually sip and enjoy. They definitely nailed that here. I tried several: *Kasato Maru: This was so smooth and absolutely delicious. By far my favorite. You could really pick up the St. Germain elderflower and pear, and the flavors worked beautifully together. Definitely one of my favorites. *Sunomono: This was more liquor-forward, but still incredibly smooth. Definitely a good choice if you want something that lets the spirits shine. *Je Ju: Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. It had a really unusual flavor that just didn't work with my palate, and my friend wasn't a fan either. I'm usually not one to send a drink back, but the staff was fantastic about it. They happily took it back and made me a completely different cocktail. *Softly Spoken: My friend ordered this one, and it came in a glass filled with small ice cubes. I tried it and thought it was really good, but it wasn't quite my personal preference. It definitely had more of a fruity flavor profile. The food looked absolutely amazing although we didn't eat here this time. There are still so many cocktails on the menu that I want to try so I'll definitely need to come back. The atmosphere is dimly lit, intimate, and full of character. It has that cool, moody feel that makes you want to sit back, sip a cocktail, and stay awhile. And the service was phenomenal from start to finish. Overall, this was such a fun experience. Great atmosphere, creative cocktails, excellent service, and plenty more on the menu I still want to try. I can't wait to come back!
