Cute new Italian spot in Little Italy! We came to try the Sarti Spritzes which were delicious. We enjoyed the charcoal bread which came with a delicious spicy butter, the burrata, and I had the mushroom ravioli. Overall the food was very good, but a bit pricier than some other spots nearby with equally good italian food & larger portions. The Ferrari theme is super fun, they have a big TV showing old races, and they seriously committed to the bit on the decor. Service was a bit slow, but expected for a new restaurant still figuring things out. Our server walked away midway through taking our order which was odd, and took us a while to find him and flag him back down. But overall would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

WOW! We had a 10/10 experience at Marinello tonight! Everything we ordered from the appetizer to all of our meals were absolutely fantastic! We were all blown away with all of our dishes! I have lived in Little Italy for several years, and I would venture to say that this restaurant has the very best and most creative Italian dishes in the neighborhood! Hands down! 10/10 The service is excellent! The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The ambiance is beautiful Ferrari red. F1 is playing on multiple TVs, a Ferrari engine sits to the right of the bar, along with images of F1 tracks from all over the world. The cherry on top is the autographed, Michael Schumacher suit. I have owned Porsches all my life and was lucky enough to drive some beautiful Ferraris on the autostrada in Italy. This is a car enthusiasts haven! Please do not believe me; come experience it for yourself! We will definitely be back over and over and over again! BRAVO Maranello! Grazie

Maranello has opened in a Little Italy corner suite where a Latin American fusion restaurant operated for less than 18 months. The ownership group has remained the same as they decided to close the predecessor and rebrand with a moniker of "elevated Italian cuisine." The interior was refurbished with a race car theme including a red color associated with high end Italian automakers. I sat at a small table across from the central bar area. The Cheese Wheel Pasta was a featured item as it seems to be at more and more upscale Italian eateries. I didn't ask what the market price was because it may vary depending on which proteins and noodles were included in the dish. I noticed a server rolling a cart around the dining room with the cheese wheel as people were ordering it. Antipasti, salads, pasta, and entrees were the categories on the menu sheet. The first appetizer caught my eye which was the Calabrian Charcoal Bread. It was five pieces of blackened bread served with a whipped butter containing Calabrian 'Nduja. Between the black bread and the orange butter, this was a perfect pairing... for Halloween. The butter had a bit of spiciness that may catch customers off guard if they were not paying attention to the menu description. The charcoal bread was soft but not as moist as I had hoped. I also ordered the Pappardelle All'Anatra from the eight different Hand Crafted Pasta. Roasted duck ragout was served with truffle stracciatella that had an earthy flavor to the cheese. Normally, I eat pappardelle with a tomato sauce of some type so for this version to be made with a brown gravy was different. The noodles were cooked just right. While I was waiting for this dish, a complimentary cup of beef bone broth (Brodo) with cheese tortellini was provided to whet my appetite which I appreciated. The service from the multiple staff members was very pleasant. I think it was the second day of business when I visited so they were likely trying to impress the customers. For the food quality and prices, I gave a four star rating for my dinner at Maranello.

Was very excited to finally try this place! Very cute and chic interior, loved the decor and ambience - great for a girls night! The sarti spritz was delicious! The food was good! Very solid overall, but I will say the menu is pretty small. Overall I enjoyed it, but I can't say I'm running to go back immediately for dinner, but would go back for a drink definitely!

A little Italian cuisine girl dinner in the heart of Little Italy Maranello has arrived in little Italy and it is bringing authentic Italian flavors and Ferrari vibes. It's the perfect spot for a girls' dinner or a night out in San Diego with impeccable service. Add good food good wine and even better company and you have the recipe for a great night. Beef pasta soup. Not too heavy nor salty!

I recently had dinner at Maranello and I can't wait to go back! The restaurant has a beautiful Ferrari-inspired design that feels modern and upscale. We started with the beef pasta Soup and the silverstone salad, both of which were fresh and flavorful. I was worried the beef pasta soup would be too salty, but it wasn't at all! The standout appetizer, though, was the filetto tartare with cheese fondue. This was unlike anything I've ever had before and am salivating just thinking about it! For our entrees, we ordered the risotto and the porcini mushroom ravioli. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and had rich, well-balanced flavors. The drinks were just as memorable. We had the stallion and the tiramisu espresso martini. I loved how refreshing the stallion was and it wasn't too sweet. I'm not a big tiramisu fan, but we ordered the tiramisu, and I have to say it was quite tasty and not overly sweet. The service was exceptional. Sometimes when a restaurant first opens there's some kinks they need to work out, but I didn't experience that at Maranello. I can't wait to go back!

So I was a tad nervous about this place because honestly most of the Italian food in little Italy is very generic, overpriced and does not taste authentic at all. I was also a little thrown off with the Ferrari theme since im not a car person. However, I am so so glad we tried this place because the food was awesome. Most authentic Italian food I have had in San Diego. My family literally loved everything we had which was the: -sarti spritz: lighter than an Aperol spritz. Very refreshing -complimentary soup: the broth was so delicious almost like a French onion with home made noodles. Very pleasant surprise. -charcoal bread: nice texture with a spicy cheese spread -artichokes: perfectly cooked with almost a hollandaise like sauce -menelo salad: champagne vinaigrette on the frisè was yum -lasagna: perfectly cooked ratio of sauce noodles and cheese with béchamel -radiator pasta: pasta cooked to perfection and a more pungent creamy cheese sauce -tiramisu: traditional and good -cannoli: traditional and good The staff were all very attentive and friendly and you can truly see how much the manger cares about the restaurant with his warm welcome upon seating. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and I will be back to try everything else on the menu!

I knew this place was newly opened, but the reviews and locals had all praised it. So glad we gave it a try. The food was so good. That lasagna emiliana tasted amazing. Flavors were incredible, probably one of the best Italian dishes I've ever had. The charcoal bread was suggested, so we tried it. It had no charcoal flavor or anything to it, but basically just good tasting bread and sauce. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Little Italy. Make reservations, it was super busy. Also, I'm an F1 fan, so neat seeing some of the decor around the restaurant to give it a unique atmosphere.

We had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious and packed with so much flavor. Everything we tried was amazing, and the drinks were just as good! You can really tell they put a lot of care into everything they serve. The staff were also so sweet, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I'd recommend and come back to again!

First of all, amazing ambiance and decor. I love the Ferrari theme and the name Maranello (birthplace of Ferrari and HQ if you didn't know). Check out the different engine and car parts used as decor in the space. They are so cool! Second- the food and service was unbelievable. I came with a friend for girl's night on Friday night and we had a great time. Our server April was attentive and sweet. The manager, Andrea, came and checked in on us too. They both had a great energy about them. FOOD: The decor and energy are what make a place memorable, but the food is also 10/10. This is what we had: BRODO with Tortellini. We received this as a welcome gift and amuse bouche type. I love something like this. The brodo was amazing and this was a truly high class touch. Calabrian Charcoal Bread: SO good and unexpected. The butter has a bit of kick which was so tasty Octopus Carpaccio: I will be dreaming about this octopus carpaccio. Best octopus I have ever had. It was so thinly sliced, flavored, and beautifully arranged. Highly recommend Heirloom Tomato Burrata: THIS WAS SO COOL. There is like a surprise inside of it. Not your typical Italian restaurant Heirloom Tomato appetizer. Get it. It's a showstopper Pappardelle all'anatra: My friend got this pasta dish and it was unbelievable. Rich, silky, beautiful. Ruotina Di Mare: This was innovative, given the theme. Little black tire pasta in a rich sauce with shrimp. So cool. Loved it. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was to die for. And the drinks were amazing too. I had the Italian Stallion which was really flavorful and different with the passionfruit and aperol. My friend had the Sarti Spritz which was sooo good. My new favorite spritz. Move over Aperol, Campari, and Hugo, there is a new Spritz on the block and her name is Sarti. 10/10 Experience and food. If you are in Little Italy, looking for something different. Try Maranello.

    Pici Tesstarrosa

I visited Maranello this past Friday with three friends. We had a reservation for 4 at 5:00 PM, and based on other reviews, I had heard that this was a great spot for a girls' night. So, my friends and I decided to choose Maranello as a place to catch up over dinner and drinks. The food was delicious overall, although I was a little disappointed with the portion of my entrée. I ordered the Pici Tesstarossa, which comes with shrimp and lobster for $38. While the dish itself was very tasty, it only came with two pieces of shrimp and about four small shredded pieces of lobster. That said, I didn't let the portion size ruin the experience. Unfortunately, the experience took a major turn after we finished ordering our food and drinks. We were enjoying our conversation when a very nice female employee came by and rang us up. As we were wrapping up our conversation, the male manager came over to our table and asked if we needed anything else. We politely declined. He then proceeded to tell us that we needed to leave because there was a line of people waiting outside. We were honestly stunned. None of us had been informed of a time limit for our reservation, and we had only been there for about an hour and a half. It felt like their customer service ends the moment you pay. At that point you are no longer a paying customer but more of disturbance. We gathered our belongings and decided to exit. Before leaving, we did speak with the manager and explained that we felt his approach was extremely rude and unprofessional. Had we been informed ahead of time that there was a time limit on our table, we would have understood and planned accordingly. Instead, we were simply told to leave in the middle of our evening. The manager continued to disregard our experience by stating that he didn't believe it was rude. While that may be his perspective, we wanted to communicate ours and were met with him being defensive and dismissive. Lastly, there was no line once we got outside. I understand that restaurants get busy and need to turn tables. However, there is a much more professional way to communicate that to guests. A simple heads-up about a time limit when we arrived or even a polite request to begin wrapping things up would have made a huge difference. If you're looking for a place to relax, have drinks, and actually enjoy a conversation with friends or family, I would not recommend it based on our experience. The food was good, but unfortunately, the way we were treated overshadowed the rest of the evening.

Stilo Italiano at Maranello delivered an unforgettable start to Virgo season for my sister and me. From the moment we walked in, the team made our birthday kickoff feel special, and the hospitality was truly above and beyond. The food was exceptional -- rich, flavorful Carbonara, perfectly balanced Tiramisu, and a bright, refreshing Limoncello to finish. Even the playful "pizza on wheels" added a fun touch that made the experience feel unique. When you combine a love for F1 with authentic Italian cuisine, this spot hits the mark effortlessly. A heartfelt thank you to the manager Andrea, Cristiano, and the entire team for creating such a warm, memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, great energy, and a little taste of Italy right here at home.

The place is very small and even being there early, all the inside seats were already taken. We sat on the patio, which on a nice day would have been fine, but it was a cold and windy evening. We asked if they could turn on the heat lamps, but they said they were out of propane. It took probably 15 minutes for anyone to greet us after that. We were told we would get to try 4 or 5 champagnes. And while they were trying their best, it just took such a long time between pours, and we didn't end up trying all of them, as they ran out of at least one. They did compensate by pouring more of the others, but they just didn't seem ready for the group that was there. We ended up shoving our way to stand inside, as it was not pleasant outside. It was a really cute place, and they all seemed very nice, but if they are going to have events, they need to be much more organized and probably limited to a smaller number of people unless they can put more tables out in the lobby area. I had been excited to check it out, but left feeling that we didn't have a good experience.
