First time coming here. My son has severe allergies to milk and peanuts. When we go out to eat I always ensure that he has options. Prior to coming I called making sure they could accommodate the allergens and I was told that I can inform the server and the chef would make the accommodations. On the night of the dinner I spoke to multiple waiters and it's like they didn't know anything about what had allergens and were saying everything has milk or what not and looking at me like I'm delusional for even asking about ingredients. One server came and stated to me that there was another incident where a woman came and didn't bring food for her child and they had an allergic reaction and if the mother had packed the child food that wouldn't of happened, hence blaming the mother. He proceeded to say it's very PROBLEMATIC with the allergens and as a parent I should be packing my son's food and bringing it in!I have never been to a restaurant that reacted to allergens this way. It's 2025 and some people just still don't take allergies seriously. I will NEVER come here again. The food was ok nothing special. The other servers were okay it was just that one short bald man that was just very rude and not understanding at all, no hospitality and it's very disheartening to know that people like this exist in the restaurant business, it's like I was an inconvenience for him and he showed it. All in all I wish this would've been a better experience I made the best of it seeing as it was a celebration. Allergies or not I would avoid this place, there are plenty of restaurants I've been to that accommodate allergens and have better food. read more

Old fashioned. 47 years old and one of staff has been there for 40 plus years. I pass by it all the time and never thought of dine there - like an old furniture - ha ha ha - Will return. Service and food are great. A Semi basement but the ceiling height is good. String beans are soft Bread is great Like their mini decanter (not the glass tho) Sauces are delicious that we nearly finished two basket of bread - don't supply the second basket pls. Bathroom is clean - the only complain would be three stalls making it too tight and unnecessary - two would have been a better choice. Huge portions prepared with care and presented wonderfully. Absolutely delicious tastes for your pallet to enjoy. Staff was on point and very helpful, there in a moment if needed. Service was slow but one of the hosts checked on us many times and explained that they were having a busy night in the kitchen and apologized several times. appreciated that. We ordered a seafood and chorizo paella which does take some time to prepare. It was definitely worth the wait. Good amount of seafood and cooked really well. Delicious and well seasoned. In a Best Western, there is street or free parking at the hotel. Nice decor and there was a harpsichordist playing. Nice background music, very unobtrusive. The waiters were all busy taking orders, clearing tables and table side cooking. Ours was very pleasant and attentive. I had their version of chicken cordon bleu which was very tasty as were the sides of rice and green beans that came with it. My wife had chicken with mushroom sauce which she liked and our friends had paella and rigatoni with shrimp. All of us enjoyed our food and had a great time. read more

I love this place, from the manager Juan is just a pleasure to deal with. He's beyond polite, well spoken, professional and super helpful with any questions you may have. The servers are all also very professional and kind. The food is tasty and the place has a nice relaxing vibe to it. The menu is terrific -- lots of Spanish, basque(?), and Italian options. Ambiance is a little upscale. To be perfectly honest, the prices would be on-par if the restaurant was in Manhattan, but they are slightly high for Queens. The restaurant itself has a slightly aging interior -- you can tell it tries, and *mostly* succeeds, in being a fine dining venue. The hotel and building that houses the restaurant are slightly aging and in need of refreshment. No matter. The food is delicious and worth trying. The prices would prevent me from going to the restaurant every week, but every so often it's a nice treat. BTW, the restaurant has free parking. The waiters are the busy-male type of waiter you see in upscale places. Busy and not overly aware of their tables, but efficient and friendly. I can see how they would be off-putting for some people, but I like them. Caldo Gallego: B+ Excellent flavor, wonderful soup. Could've easily have been an A-, however the soup was not cooked enough. The beans were al dente -- not a good thing in this soup. The soup was somewhat watery. If it had been cooked longer the beans would've been done and imparted a thick robustness that the soup needed. Still, the soup was delicious, and warrants an above average B+ grade. Ravioli: B+ Expertly cooked raviolis, the way an Italian chef would cook them. If you want to know what the big deal is with "al dente" pasta, this is a good demonstration: not raw, not crunchy. Thick. The raviolis are almost certainly frozen and not homemade, but that's OK. Still good. The sauce is a sweet pomodoro sauce (not my favorite) sparsely ladled onto the ravioli. Sadly, if you order this dish at Marabella, you will be sadly, sadly disappointed when you compare your sparse plate of food with everyone's lobsters and steaks. read more

We were welcomed by very well dressed wait staff. Very pleasant and very well mannered. We were asked what we want for our drinks and settled for their cocktails and beer. We tried their calamari for our appetizer. It was crispy and crunchy. We ordered from the "Specialties of Spain", I always try the specialty of any place I visit. As this ha a Spanish restaurant , we had paella a la valenciana and matched it with sole stuffed with crab meat. Paella was served in a sizzling pot and could served 2. It was very delicious. The sole was so tasty . We were happy with our meal. Surprised though for our Sunday lunch price was the same as dinner price where in there were less choices. We came very early for lunch hour and were the first clients inside the restaurant. Never got the chance to try dessert. Too full with what we had but I heard of good reviews of their crepes. Ordered: Vegetable Paella Tortellini in Cream Escargot Mussels in Green Sauce Pellegrino Food: 9/10 ; the food was delicious and came quickly, presentation was excellent as well. One small problem is that the vegetables were slightly over cooked. The rest of the food had just the right amount of spice. Service: 6/10 ; service was excellent and the servers catered to our every need, up until I gave them my $25 coupon. Since I understand Spanish, I was able to understand the servers talking about my boyfriend and I in a nasty manner, I felt very judged; just because I was smart enough to bring a coupon. No Bread basket was bought to our table, took him a long time to take dinner order then he got an attitude beacuse we wanted and extra appitizer form the main menuu. The dishes are so very flavorful, some with mild sauces that add a touch of culture to the dishes. This place is next door to the Best Western Hotel with indoor access to and from the hotel. The restaurant is not affiliated with Best Western. Actually, I stay at the hotel just so I can enjoy a great meal and drinks at Marbella's so I don't even have to go outside to get to my room. If i could give Marbella a zero I would. My mother decided to throw a birthday party for her husband (my step father) at Marbella's. The place has two rooms to rent out. One large ballroom and one smaller room. She decided to go with the smaller room as we only had around 60 guests coming. This was not only a mistake, but ever going there was a huge mistake. Issue #1: We rented out the room from 6:30-11:30. We were told that we would have a chance to set up from 6pm-6:30 (not a lot of time) because there was another party in there before us. Ok no problem. We get there and the other party didn't leave and so we had less than 10min to set up the place for our reception. Issue #2: We were told they were going to lay down a dance floor. That dance floor was not only of the poorest quality, but was actually duct taped to the ground. Not exactly the classiest move. Issue #3: We were told the room could fit 80 people. In actuality the room didn't even fit 60. The tables were close together and one table was actually placed at the entrance of the room blocking guests from entering. When the food was brought in, they constantly hit guests sitting down at that table. Issue #4: While some of the speeches were going on the staff were talking loudly. Loudly enough that they had to be told to please whisper. They did not care too much and decided to continue being rude, speaking loudly, and drawing attention away from what was suppose to be a touching moment in the program. Issue #5: The owner decided to show the room to another interested party while our party was still going. Issue #6: The place has a ton of construction going on and the lobby looks like some of the houses on long island after hurricane sandy. They don't even have the foresight to cover it up with a sheet. Issue #7: When the previous issues were brought to the attention of the owner, his first words were, "well you know you can't get any money back." Honestly this EXCEPTIONALLY negative experience is a shame. My sister had her wedding reception in the ballroom about 6 years ago and it was beautiful. Things have changed a great deal though and if you're looking to rent a room for a party, take Marbella's off your list. They don't care about you. read more

Avoid this spot at all costs. The food is horrible. I ordered the steak and Lobster tail. The steak was awful and the Lobster tail was extremely dry and tough to chew. I've been looking for a REALLY GOOD paella restaurant on the Island, ever since House of Spain (Merrick) closed in 2015. I've tried Sangria 71, Taste of Portugal and a handful of 'joints' around town. They weren't bad, but nobody made the rice to my liking. I finally gave in and drove to Queens (20 miles). I tried Marbella (take out) for the 1st time last week. OMG!! The paella was OUTSTANDING!! The shrimps, littleneck clams, plump mussels, scallops, chorizo & chicken were plentiful, super fresh and they NAILED the rice!! It was seasoned beautifully throughout. I asked for green sauce on the side and even THAT was a winner!! Nice and garlicky. I called ahead and ordered 2 lunch portions. It was HUGE!! The paella was placed in a 10x13 tin tray and could have easily fed 6 HUNGRY people. I paid $58. Well worth it. Next time, I plan on dining-in. The atmosphere was SO lovely and Marbella's staff was extremely welcoming to me. I FINALLY found Pure Paella Nirvana. :) read more

I called ahead and asked if they had a special Mother's Day Lunch Menu and the man on the phone said no. So I asked if he would be serving their regular lunch menu that day and they said yes! Their lunch menu prices are pretty reasonably priced so for a large group I figured WHY NOT. WRONG!!!!!! We got there and they were using the dinner prices for lunch, the room was WAAAY too loud with what was supposed to be background music and they were so short staffed that it took forever to get drinks or anything for that matter. Food was mediocre. Ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce for my app, a CLASSIC Basque dish...well there was nothing basque about it. At least the shrimps were fresh but the sauce was non existent. The garlic must have been sitting in water or something because it didn't even infuse the oil. Weird. Ordered the Creme Brulee to share for dessert...they didn't even bother heating it up and it tasted like it was sitting in their fridge for a few days. Gross. Never again. read more
