Knowing that the restaurant is connected to a Ramada Hotel, the ideal of eating there was not so appealing at first however, after sampling several of there exquisite dishes, I was convinced! To my surprise, the waiter literally prepared the pitcher of Sangria from scratch right in front of us; something I had never seen before at other Spanish Restaurants. The food was delicious, the waiters were friendly and the restaurant was clean. The atmosphere was relaxing which could have been in part to harpist who played beautiful works of music. Some of the great dishes that I tried included the Chicken a la Madrid, Fillet of Sole Sauteed with Bananas, Entrecote a la Parrilla, Mejillones al Whiskey and their famous Paella Marinera and I strongly recommend every single one of these dishes... We have been here many times. The place has been around for over 4 decades and this is a true testament. The place has a Mediterranean feel, sort of a Moroccan vibe to it. Wonderful appetizers, great seafood and even the potatoes chips are home made (they call it patatas). Good Sangria, attentive service and while it doesn't have valet parking, we have always found parking around the corner and within the hotel lot behind the restaurant. Its not a place you want to go to during a special holiday like mother's day, as you will read here. Even the waiters had problems taking the orders and placing the food on the table. Apparently they have problems with crowds. They gave us Thanksgiving menus. We asked for the regular menu, there gave us three menus for eight people. We were told that certain items on the menu were not available. When the appetizers arrived, they forgot one order. It took time for them to get the appetizer to us. It also seems to happen at other tables. It took forever to get refills on the drinks. The food was okay, nothing special. When got to dessert, again there was not enough menus. If they can't handle holidays, they should not open. read more

We met some friends here for dinner one night - A little tricky to find parking but the reward is unbelievably good food and excellent service! I had the avocado stuffed with seafood for an appetizer- OMG it was delicious!! The dressing was light and didn't over power the fish, and the fish was so fresh. It was generously portioned and almost enough for a light meal on its own. For dinner, I had the Chilean sea bass special, which was out of this world! The green sauce is light but full of flavor, and the fish was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend had chicken cordon blue and black bean soup and enjoyed both as well. I will definitely go back:-) Since you can't use half stars, I had to take one star off because the wine wasn't that great...my friends enjoyed their sangria but food this good would have been even better with a good wine. read more

Terribly disappointed with my experience. The service was rushed and lacking. The waiter was uninvolved and distracted. He never checked up on me. Never asked if I wanted another drink or needed anything during the meal. He spilled wine in the butter while pouring my drink, but did not apologize or replace it. We sat at the bar, but service should not have been inadequate. Remember: good service results in a good (or better than good) tip. From what I witnessed, the waiter had little patience or tolerance for non-Spanish speakers. I ordered the Paella a la Valenciana - While the portions were large with a good amount of seafood (scallops, shrimp, clams, and mussels), chicken, and sausage, it was fairly mediocre, bland, and uninspiring. Good, not great.The peas were also hard. When another waiter/runner brought out the food, my waiter left it sitting out on the bar while he was occupied with opening wine - he probably should have allowed the runner to serve me the dish or leave the wine to serve the hot food. When the waiter finally made the time to hand me my food, he dumped and shoved the food on my plate as he was transferring it from the paella skillet/pan. Not cool. At the end, the waiter had the temerity to say that the Valencian paella was better at Marbella than in Valencia even though the restaurant's version lacked flavor and authenticity. Oddly enough, his tone improved slightly when I made a few banal comments about the food in my very limited Spanish before paying my cheque. Overall, the service and food was not great. read more

There is usually a harp player and it is quiet enough to have a conversation. Prices are reasonable and portions large. We always have a great time and wonderful dinner. Was going into the city this evening to dine but the power outage changed all that so I decided to try Marbella. There is a small parking lot on the premises that serves both the restaurant and hotel but there is a sign when you enter that says you can park in the Adria Motel parking lot a block away if need be. The room was pleasant albeit a touch warm. Service was efficient and attentive, very "old school". Appetizers were the Calamari and the Mussels in Parsley. The Calamari were grilled and delicious. The mussels were amazing. Entrees were the Chilean Sea Bass with Lobster and Lobster Sauce special and the Pollo a la Madrid which was listed as Chicken Francaise on the check (and priced $3.00 MORE than the Pollo a la Madrid incidentially). The Childean Sea Bass with Lobster and Lobster Sauce was excellent and priced $1.00 LESS than a simliar dish on the menu. Go figure. The Pollo a la Madrid was delicious, chicken breast in a lemon wine sauce. It was a substantial portion so I didn't complain about the upcharge on the check. Dessert was the Strawberry tarte which was was like a giant strawberry twinkee or a strawberry shortcake without the whipped cream. It was great. Coffee and espresso were wonderful as well. Drink and cocktail prices are reasonable here at $10.00. Marbella is getting 3 stars because it is a solid restaurant with excellent service. read more

Wonderful! We had a private event for my baby shower at Marbella on June 25th. Originally we were planning to have our event in the smaller banquet room on the right side of the lobby/main entrance. After giving Juan Estevez (event planner/restaurant manager) our final guest count, he suggested that we move the event to the bigger ballroom. The ballroom was available to due to a cancellation and it was wonderful. Our guests had room to move freely and the space felt open/airy. The service staff and Juan were all great leading up to the event as well as the day off. We heard feedback from our guests about how tasty the food was and how attentive the wait staff was. We choose to do a sit down lunch for our guests, instead of buffet. We also choose to add the Paella Valenciana as an add on (additional $ per order) and it was a hit. We also tasted the Paella on two occasions and it was exactly as the restaurant serves for dinner. A kids menu was also available for the little ones. We also offered Wine, beer and Sangria as our shower was Co-Ed. Juan is quite organized, when I arrived at the venue, the chair and tables were already set up. We wanted all white everything. Our tables also had the proper amount of chairs/table placements. Juan included white chair covers which made the space look so much better! We also added a speaker/ipod connector for background music. Overall my husband and I felt that it was a great event. We've been here before and have had a fine time, but this past Sunday, Mother's Day, was unforgivable. We were seated 10 mins after our reservation, but our orders were taken immediately. Our appetizers and drinks came out within minutes. But then over an hour of being barked at and shooed away. When we tried to get attention from a waiter, we didn't even get eye contact, we just got "OK! OK!" with shooing hands. 1hr 20 later, I walked over to our waiter to inquire, got the same "OK! OK! + shooing hands" as my father and brother before me, and politely said, "Sir, we've ordered an hour and 20 mins ago." Ignored. Shooed. Then I said, "Please give us the check for the appetizers and cancel our dinner order." He didn't even look at me and snapped, "What table? I'll give you your check!" Five mins later he comes running towards our table with a cart of burnt steaks (all but my bf and I had left) and rushed so much to get to our table, he knocked over and broke dishes! And, sloppily hurled a steak onto our empty table. "Oh. I cancelled that order and everyone has gone." He promptly came back with a bill for the appetizers. (Silly me, I thought they might just comp that, but I paid.) Not a single apology that night. During the hour, we discussed that back ups happen, we were enjoying being together, and we were willing to forgive all if food were good, and someone just came to our table and acknowledged our wait. But that never happened. Marbella, if you get in the weeds, come say hi, offer us a glass of wine or an appetizer, or at least say "sorry." Thanks for ruining the day my Mom so very much looked forward to. And special thanks to Bell Garden for feeding a family that waited all day to share a meal with our Mom. read more

As someone else wrote in their review, if I could give this place zero stars, I would. My husband and I went here for dinner and it was the worst dining experience we've ever had. I didn't make a big deal about it or say anything when my wine was brought in a very dirty glass, however that was the first indication that something wasn't right. We shared the Caesar salad which tasted pretty good until I found a ROACH in it. We had considered leaving after that happened, but reasoned that every restaurant is bound to have some bugs around, and not to make a big deal about it. We quietly told the waiter so as not to make a big scene, and he quickly took everything off of the table and acted as if he was annoyed, almost as if we had done something wrong. He didn't say a word, just walked away with the food, and we sat there confused for another 5 to 7 minutes before another waiter came over and finally acknowledge what happened, in a very gruff manner. After this, I felt I needed another glass of wine to get to the rest of the meal! I ordered a glass, and the waiter quickly called to another waiter to bring it over. Our dinner came, however the wine never arrived and all of the waiters were Ignoring us. I wound up asking three different waiters three more times for a glass of wine, before I finally finished my dinner and decided to give up. Besides all of these annoyances with the service, The food wasn't even that great. My husband's fillet mignon was mediocre at best, and my seafood dish was overcooked and somewhat tough. The service throughout the restaurant was very friendly. My waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu. I inquired about the wine list and their wine steward came out to answer my questions. Normally wine stewards just want to recomend the most expensive bottle on menu. However, this guy recomended bottles based on region of spain and the varietal; which made it that much more interesting. Clearly he knew his wine, the seafood paella and the grilled octopus were my favorites. I did also ordered the garlic shrimp tapas and the spanish chorizo with potatoes and manchego which were good but after having the paella and the grilled octopus...nothing could top that. I was not expecting white glove service but cleatly this classic restaurant does it very well without feeling stuffy. By the way prepare yourself for the bill. My wine alone was $45 plus the food. Final bill with tip was about $200. All well worth it. The decor may still be stuck in 1980's..lits red velvet and gold tones but the food is a winner! read more

I ordered the Paella Valenciana con Langosta (that's menu-ese for Paella with Lobster) for one, at a cost of $29.95. I really need to see the size of the person this "for one" order is made for - we got four servings of food out of this tray. Yes, the to-go order comes in a tray! So unless your job entails pass-blocking for Eli Manning or something, my guess is you'll have plenty of leftovers. The paella is tasty and filled with seafood, but be forewarned: the lobster you get is just one half of a tail. We also ordered tortellini in alfredo sauce for the kids. My finicky daughter (we call her Cat...because that's her name) didn't like it, but my son and I did. The restaurant itself is very old-school: think old boys' club-type steakhouse decor. I had the paella with the shrimp, clams, scallops, mussels, chorizo, pollo and lobster smothered in that tasty rice for a wonderful meal. This place is not worth any of your money! We had a party of 40 for Mother's Day and had to pay a flat rate of $50 per person, kids $30 each. We were placed in a room with other tables and other guests. Our reservation was at 5p and for appetizers we received a few plates of about 10 calamari pieces each with cold sauce. We also received plates with a few overcooked shrimp made in butter and garlic. We waited for our entree dishes for two hours. The temperature in the room fluctuated between cold and colder, which says something considering the seating arrangements were as cramped as they were. The options for our entrees were "chicken" or "salmon," and we were not told that variations were available. Regardless, the food was bland. To top it off, there was a hair in one of our entrees. My mother is disabled and was unable to get to the actual restaurant and all she wanted was Marbella's paella. That's it. One plate. We ordered it on DoorDash, were happy to pay the extra fees, and waited. Then I received a text that Marbella had canceled our order because they were "too busy." My mother is sick and handicapped and was denied one plate of food. If that was the case, it shouldn't have even been available to order and fully purchase, and now also wait a week for this $35 dinner to be refunded to my card. It's just heartbreaking that one dinner couldn't be delivered 3 blocks to an elderly woman yet still I had to pay for it. Let's see if I ever get this refund. The money doesn't matter. Went there because we had a groupon. Pleasant experience. Would go again. Decor: Im not from Queens so I can't say I've walked by it a million times and never seen it, but it does appear to be a hidden treasure. decor is so-so and was a little cheesy for the Christmas season, but underneath it, you could tell that it had spanish decor like the light fixtures and old timey painting of a bull-fighter among others. Most people dressed kind of nice. We dressed up- dress and heels, him a jacket and tie and we fit in just fine as well. Service: Great. A bunch of older gentleman come by and make sure you're happy. Food came out quickly and they serve late 11 pm? Food: Bread is delicious. We both had the sangria which was tasty. Had the special app. of Jamon serrano (I'm Spanish and this is my favorite food in the world) and it was pretty good. For 10 bucks you get the jamon (cured spanish ham-looks like proscuitto, but tastes different) and manchego cheese -also good and grapes. very fair amount for the price. then dinner-paella with lobster-spilt that and was full. wouldnt go as far as to say that 2 people would be full AND have leftovers. I went there for a late lunch with my family. This restaurant has been special to my family for years because my parents got married here. My dad wanted to revisit this restaurant and we went on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered the paella Valencia and my sister ordered the chicken and rice. The restaurant is very upscale, but there were a few downsides. It was kind of awkward because the restaurant was kinda of empty. I feel awkward eating in a establishment where it is empty or very little customers are there. Also, it took a good while to get our paellas which was a little annoying. This was supposed to be a nice family New Years Eve dinner. Well, That was not the case. When I got to the restaurant has a nice old world charm But we were crammed into this place like nothing. The waiter was out of his mind and had to have been there since it opened up. He could not get the order correct. I mean there was maybe 18 of us and he suggested to order appetizers for the table. Well, the plates were so small and it was ice cold. I mean if something comes right out of the kitchen the food should be hot right. NOPE. It was an omen because the moment I put the one small piece of shrimp in my mouth it was cold and bland. I should have told the waiter to cancel my order of lobster tails in cream sauce for 40$. Well, I was so hungry by the time that came I took two bites of it and tried seasoning the food myself but if I put any more salt I would have had to take a blood pressure pill or something. Then my poor 10 yo cousin who was waiting patiently for her food never comes out. The waiter claimed that they dropped it in the kitchen and it was not coming. Well, that was the end of it. The poor kid was sitting there with no food. If you drop a dish or something happens you rush the food and cook it on the fly and try to get it out in time. NOPE. The assistant manager did absolutely nothing to help or do anything. It was a shit show and some of us left hungry. It's extremely rare for me to leave a bad review, I usually don't spent my time just complaining about a restaurant but today I had one of the most awful experiences I've had with a restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the waiter who received us was rude to us since our reservation was at 4:30 and we were 6 minutes early, 6 MINUTES EARLY and we had to listen to this guy's attitude. The food itself was average at best and extremely overpriced for the quality, portions were small, especially for the soups (which are way overpriced as well). My mother asked the waiter for a children's meal for my brother, and he gave her two options, chicken fingers with French fries or spaghetti with French fries, my brother chose the latter. When my brother's spaghetti arrived it didn't include French fries, so my mother asked the waiter for them and he, very rudely, told her that the spaghetti didn't include French fries and that my mother had misunderstood him. Overall, it was a horrible experience, terrible service, average (at best) food and extremely expensive for the food/service provided. If you're looking to have a nice time with your family or special other, stay away from this restaurant. read more
