Not a good place to come to buy Marble Comix, so we left disappointed. I'm not a fan of marble slap... I mean Marble Slab... to begin with, and I think they're expensive and that their ice cream isn't very good. But when service is good and the Barbi family kids love it, then it makes us happy and it makes them happy. Service here is really annoying and slow and they won't necessarily come over to help you even when they don't have anything better to do, such as when their phones are their main priority. Having said that when we did finally get my nephew to smile after he'd been moody all day so we're grateful for that. And I didn't realize so many attractive 20somethings come into Marble Slab. Came in for some ice cream on a weeknight so it wasn't busy at all. There were only two families inside but there was one person working so there was a bit of a wait. When I walked in I wasn't greeted. I understand there was only one person working but the shop is so small a quick, "Hello" or "Welcome in," would've sufficed. When it was my turn to order, I sampled the cookie dough ice cream and decided to go with that flavor because none of the others seemed too appealing to me. The guy working gave me a generous portion of ice cream but was rather light handed on the add ins so I asked for extra. I went with the cookie dough ice cream with pecan & choco chop add ins inside of an oreo cookie waffle bowl. I got my ice cream to go and it still wasn't melted by the time I got home. It tasted great but the customer service wasn't the best so I gave it four stars. I'll be back though! read more

Awful awful service. We ordered a 1/2 sheet cake for our daughter's 8th birthday, several days in advance, for a 2pm pickup on a Saturday. We arrive at 1:45 and were told that it wasn't ready. When I asked when it'd be ready, she said 2. So we waited in the car for 15 minutes and came back in at 2. At that point they saw us come in but didn't even acknowledge we were there for 10 minutes. Then she proceeds to tell me that the cake isn't hardening due to fridge issues, and if I want the cake like that. She literally asked me if I wanted a melting cake. They didn't have any premades large enough with a vanilla base, so I had to scramble to find an alternative in the 30 minutes before my daughter's party. They also kept trying to sell us a cake there with a chocolate base not listening to us say that she doesn't like chocolate cake. I am furious not only for the crap excuse- (there was a working freezer in the lobby with cakes that were just fine)(they just started too late), but for making me stand there and waste precious time that I could have spent finding an alternative. I didn't order anything in my last visit. I went in and a family or group of 4 was ahead of me. One staff person was helping them and there was another person working there and she was just working on decorating a cookie cake. I'm surprised that she doesn't know there is a lot of customers? She could help her coworker out or help the next customer and get back to decorating later no? This location is a joke! My family and I have been coming to this location for the past year. 8 out of 10 times, I get crappy service from some young punk(not always same person) who seems pissed to be there and to be having to help me. The owner has his number posted and I have been tempted to call, but always ended up blowing it off. Well today was the last straw. My wife went up there with my mother in law and my 3 year old son around 1pm. My wife placed her order and asked for cookie dough topping. The employee mumbled that there was no cookie dough available. My wife asked him to repeat himself, and with an attitude he said it again. So my wife picked something else. My mother in law placed her order and asked for strawberries....again, no strawberries! How are you out of 2 of the top ingredients at a Marble Slab, at 1pm on a Thursday!!?!?!? So while my wife is paying for the ice cream, my 3 year old slips on a puddle of water that is right in the middle of the floor.!! My wife tells the employee about the puddle, and he responds with, "Yea". She didn't think he understood her, so she tells him again, and he responds again with, "YEA". So after hearing about this, I was totally fed up and decided to go ahead and call the owner and tell him about our experiences. That was a COMPLETE waste of time. I told him in detail about our experiences at this location, and his response was basically, "alright, thanks for the call". Needless to say, we will NO LONGER be going here. I was really disappointed at the quality of the 'ice-cream' sold here. Neither of my kids ate it, and I don't blame them after trying it. The chocolate 'ice-cream' was really just a plain vanilla base which had been colored brown, evidenced by the food coloring stains all over my son's hands and face. Chocolate ice-cream doesn't leave a stain like that. They apparently forgot to add the chocolate flavoring. My daughter got the red velvet ice-cream which obviously has color in it, but they didn't even bother using the no-taste red. And again, no actual flavoring. I was disappointed because we've just moved into the area and this looked like a nice alternative to our favorite Cold Stone Creamery. I don't know what it is about Marble Slab stores in West Houston (Richmond, Katy (Mason location) and West Oaks...horrible, horrible service!!! Visited the Richmond location today to cash in on a $5.00 reward from being a member of the Slab Happy program. Once I arrived, I placed my order with the gentleman in the front and he proceeded to make order. When I told him that I had a coupon, he stopped and stated that he didn't have an ingredient to complete my order. Disappointed, I just said OK and stated not don't worry it and left. A year ago at this location, one of the employees tried to charge me for an extra for an ice cream cone that was supposed to be free, and had to put up a small fuss in getting my money back. I don't know and I don't understand...this location, along with the ones I mentioned above always seem to have an negative attitude when it comes to using any kind of Marble Slab coupon, so much so that I just won't give them business anymore and drive a little ways to one of the better locations. One thing I would like these locations to understand is the coupons are used to bring customers in the door. The type of service you provide the customers is what brings them back, whether we have a coupon or not. read more

100 Negative stars for customer service. Two stars for nostalgia since we have been huge MS fans since we were younger. We only get the sweet cream here since all their other flavors are questionable, they never taste the same compared to other MS locations. I hate how convenient this location is for us since the customer service sucks! It's literally the worst. If you plan on coming here, make sure you're in a good mood and with good company because you'll need that to ignore the way this location treats their customers. A few years back, they placed the manager's number in the store but that was a complete waste of time since the guy where the bad customer service started from is still there. Apparently, he's a manager or something of that sort... He's so bad as we've witnessed this every time we go and he's there. This so called manager seems to be very allergic to working and speaking. This guy cannot be bothered to acknowledge that you're even in the store. If there isn't another worker there, he'll just stare at you until you say what you'd like to order then quickly tell you your total so you can get out. If there is someone else there with him, he'll let the other worker do all the work even if there is a long line. As of the last couple of times, there's been the taller guy with glasses helping us and he's a lot more helpful than the "manager" there... If you get him, he's still on the quiet side but he does show to have manners and ethics. I can't say the same for the other shorter guy. But my gripe today is because when they first opened, I was told to download their app but every single time the app won't work on their end. You could never get the points and you can't ever redeem your coupons or rewards. The "manager" can't even care about the situation and will constantly tell you to just pay, "app won't work. I already pressed the button for your total." I think today ends our visit here but I'm sure that won't matter to the owners of this location. What a complete waste of business. read more

Customer service isn't great. Employees don't have great communication skills. During COVID, the person preparing the ice cream never had his nose covered. I went in 3 different times during quarantine. No social distancing, employees were defiant not worried about breathing all over your food or touching cash or credit cards then touching food. So gross. Spraying germs all over the ice cream. Families sitting at all the little tables (store is tiny) when supposed to be take out only. We visited this location today March 5th 2017 at 4:30pm and right when we started to place our order, there were about 8 or 10 different people who walked in after us and got in line. There was a young girl taking our order and no one else to help her. However, we did see two other Hispanic males in the back room just talking to each other so I asked her why they weren't helping her and she said that Gustavo is the manager and she can't tell him to work. So I called him and asked why he wasn't helping her and he said that he's busy making cones, the cone bucket was all full. I asked him again, why don't you help her and he said he doesn't have to.
