After MMA in Buzzards Bay.....we were Hungry.....so we ended up at Marc Anthony's La Pizzeria in Onset, heard lots of good things about this place, The decor there was unreal. Food was very good. If I ever eat here again I would get take out. Place was extremely loud and I didn't care for the cafeteria style seating. Difficulty ordering because a rude chef was standing next to the woman taking my order screaming to someone he apparently knew behind us. Also beer is seriously overpriced for tiny cups. read more

Exactly what you thought you would get-standard pizza in a dive bar style pizza hall, equipped with draft beer, a small arcade, and decor dating back to the 70s and 80s. The cash only/seat your self restaurant had a great and quick staff filling their takeout and to-go as well as the dine in eaters. I thought both pies we got (pepperoni and cheese) were standard, and was not surprised by the price tag of $26 each, in the little beach town. To be clear- I would go again as a quick bite to eat. The lasagna is really good considering the cheese they use is likely the same as the cheese that they use for the pizza. However, the portion is the size of a Peggy Lawton brownie and if you're over 100 pounds you should definitely order two for yourself. read more

I never judge a place by one visit. 1. Went there 3 weeks ago and ordered the lobster pizza. Not enough lobster on it and it tasted weird and dry 2. Two weeks ago we went back and tried just a plain pizza figuring you can't judge a place on a specialty pizza. Tasted like frozen pizza. 3. Went tonight and tried an Italian sub loaded with hots and an order of 6 clam cakes. Minimal amount of basic grade cold cuts couldn't taste any hots and sparingly amount of tomatoes etc. bread was nice and soft. I did like the bread. Clam cakes were basically fried balls. Classic from start to finish. Best pizza - hot hot burn ur face off hot w real ingredients. Not greasy just good ol fashion thin crust w a nice tangy sauce. I'm not a crust guy but I do eat theirs. Clam strips are honestly great , consistent and delicious. Onion rings 10/10 , curly fries are a hand cut potato . I have heard amazing things about this place for years. I'm a huuuuuge pizza lover, and I do like trying the best pizza spots, I finally was in the area and had to try it for myself. Yikes... it may have been some of the worst pizza I've had in my entire life. I got two slices of cheese, and they were so soggy they were actually mush in your mouth. When you think of this restaurant pizza comes to mind however we opted for their seafood platter and it did not disappoint. It was large enough for two people to share with 5 shrimp, 5 scallops, assorted clams and a piece of fish. We decided to do onion rings instead of fries and that was a wise decision. We came here twice during a recent visit to Onset. Wonderful pizza and fried dough! So yummy we went back again.

Food is good it's a shame certain employees are unwelcoming. My sister went in for the first time to try this place and wasn't even so much as greeted, got treated like she was not wanted there at all meanwhile they greeted every single white customer that came in with a smile. Proceeded to take their orders before her despite her being there first. Didn't even attempt to give the same service when she was finally able to order. Best pizza in eastern Massachusetts. They make a beautiful thin hand tossed New York style crust . The decor is rustic with casual atmosphere in a large food hall with a great jukebox and pinball and other games in the back. Order at the counter and they will call you. They serve beer and wine. I have been there at least 20 times and the pizza is always great. The crust is just remarkable - chewy and tasty. They have an extensive menu but I have never tried anything else. read more

Food-wise, the pizza crust was okay, but the pizza had no flavor. The chef salad was horrible, with wilted lettuce, shredded chicken, one peperoncino, and a slice of American cheese thrown on top. My dog wouldn't even eat the cheese. I have been a local since 1976 and have stayed away for years. Gave them another chance and will never go back! As a kid growing up at my grandparents house in onset every summer - this was the place to be! Returned 07/21/24 with my boyfriend and two kids and SERVICE: the one girl who took my order was clearly not sober and barely keeping her eyes open, but was very pleasant and friendly. The gentleman who I assume was the manager was also very helpful and kind. FOOD: the chicken fingers were plain and gross, the regular fries were basic and unsalted, the curly fries were also plain and overall blah. The pizza was greasy and thin but absolutely delicious and just as I remembered as a kid! PRICE: $63 for a cheeseburger, chicken fingers, small regular fries, small curly fries and large cheese pizza with a pitcher of root beer- if the food was good this would be worth it but definitely won't be spending this money here again. Whether you choose to dine in the restaurant or on the beach, Mark Anthony's rarely disappoints. It seems any time we go to Onset Beach we grab one of their Italian-style pies. When you walk into this eclectic and energetic space you can't help but notice the pizza chefs as they are prominently stationed near the front window. I think watching them knead and shape the dough as you order adds to the appreciation of your first bite into the crispy and chewy crust. The only time I had a bad experience at Mark Anthony's is when my teenage son wrapped his $700 retainer in a napkin so he could eat and I mistakenly threw it away thinking it was trash. Twenty minutes later we returned to the restaurant. This time my takeout included three garbage bags of trash that I brought home and searched. I never found his retainer, but I did learn that people love to put ketchup on everything. read more

Ordered a large meatball sub for take out. Soggy bread, sweet sauce, and large meatballs. No cheese, was not asked when ordered jf I had a preference, with or without cheese. Why any business is cash only, when charging $10-12 for a sub, is baffling in 2024. The staff was not pleasant, no hello, no think you for the tip or business. With other option's nostalgia only goes so far. The meatballs were ok, not much flavor, the sauce was too sweet for me, personal preference, the bread was Ok at best. I don't have any pictures. My mom is obsessed with this place, me....not so much. We went in a little late there was a short girl there with purple hair who was ridiculously rude. Pizza was done pretty fast but I didn't like it, it was bland. My mom seems to think the slices taste better than the full pizza.
