My Review Could Be Titled "Stick To Their Pizza" Ok, so.....my wife, family and I have been coming to Onset for the last few years, mainly ordered pizzas from here to go. Always good, if a bit on the pricey side. So... tonight my wife and I decided to walk into town from our rental, after having just driven 8 hours, unpacked, and chilled for a bit. So, the place was packed...and I guess I should've noticed that NOBODY was ordering anything but pizzas. Not wanting pizza, and looking over the menu while sipping our EXPENSIVE ($7.50 for a 12 oz. PLASTIC cup!) beers. The minestrone (now THAT's Italian, right?) soup was mostly watery broth, with not much flavor. No redish tomatoey broth, very little spice. But...the veggies were fresh. The broccoli bites - hot, cheesy, I liked 'em, wife didn't. The BIG disappointment was the Large antipasta salad. They basically threw some slices of ham, a few slices of salami, and a couple of slices of cheese on a bed of chopped lettuce, sliced cucumbers and a few sliced cherry tomatoes. Oh, and a coupla pita bread quarters for ? (appeasement). Oh, and all this was arranged in one of those round aluminum foil "to go" dishes. For the money, NOT WORTH IT! Next time, IF THERE IS ONE, we'll get pizza by the slice, or maybe a whole pie. Maybe my tastebuds are tainted by having some of the BEST Greek pizza in Tilton, NH & Western Massachusetts, or perhaps the delectable Italian pies at many Jersey Shore pizzarias.....but...for what we paid, I could've had 2 large pies to go and skipped their over-priced beers! read more

Exactly what you thought you would get-standard pizza in a dive bar style pizza hall, equipped with draft beer, a small arcade, and decor dating back to the 70s and 80s. The cash only/seat your self restaurant had a great and quick staff filling their takeout and to-go as well as the dine in eaters. I thought both pies we got (pepperoni and cheese) were standard, and was not surprised by the price tag of $26 each, in the little beach town. To be clear- I would go again as a quick bite to eat. Food was very good. If I ever eat here again I would get take out. Place was extremely loud and I didn't care for the cafeteria style seating. The lasagna is really good considering the cheese they use is likely the same as the cheese that they use for the pizza. However, the portion is the size of a Peggy Lawton brownie and if you're over 100 pounds you should definitely order two for yourself. read more

I never judge a place by one visit. 1. Went there 3 weeks ago and ordered the lobster pizza. Not enough lobster on it and it tasted weird and dry 2. Two weeks ago we went back and tried just a plain pizza figuring you can't judge a place on a specialty pizza. Tasted like frozen pizza. 3. Went tonight and tried an Italian sub loaded with hots and an order of 6 clam cakes. Minimal amount of basic grade cold cuts couldn't taste any hots and sparingly amount of tomatoes etc. bread was nice and soft. I did like the bread. Clam cakes were basically fried balls. Basically just a hint of clam and no flavor. 4. People can be upset with my honest review. I had previously gone there in prior years and the pizza was always worth the trip. read more

We have gone to Marc Anthonys for decades and have always had excellent food, so our last visit was a huge disappointment. There were few onions on our onion pizza and little cheese. Must be under new management. We will get our pizzas somewhere else in the future. read more

Classic from start to finish. Best pizza - hot hot burn ur face off hot w real ingredients. Not greasy just good ol fashion thin crust w a nice tangy sauce. I'm not a crust guy but I do eat theirs. Clam strips are honestly great , consistent and delicious. Onion rings 10/10 , curly fries are a hand cut potato . Arcade if you wanna play old school games while you wait , lots of coin operated price machines with cool old school prizes. Overall can't really be beat. 10/10 read more

When you think of this restaurant pizza comes to mind however we opted for their seafood platter and it did not disappoint. It was large enough for two people to share with 5 shrimp, 5 scallops, assorted clams and a piece of fish. We decided to do onion rings instead of fries and that was a wise decision. I have heard amazing things about this place for years. I'm a huuuuuge pizza lover, and I do like trying the best pizza spots, I finally was in the area and had to try it for myself. Food is good it's a shame certain employees are unwelcoming. My sister went in for the first time to try this place and wasn't even so much as greeted, got treated like she was not wanted there at all meanwhile they greeted every single white customer that came in with a smile. Best pizza in eastern Massachusetts. They make a beautiful thin hand tossed New York style crust . The decor is rustic with casual atmosphere in a large food hall with a great jukebox and pinball and other games in the back. Order at the counter and they will call you. They serve beer and wine. I have been there at least 20 times and the pizza is always great. The crust is just remarkable - chewy and tasty. They have an extensive menu but I have never tried anything else. read more

RUN! The co-owner, whom I believe is Mark, the phone guy for take-out, is rude, ignorant, and has no sense of customer service. He hung up before I finished the order. He smirked and said nothing. A REAL JERK! His brother John, who usually makes the pizza, had to apologize for him. How are they still partners???? Food-wise, the pizza crust was okay, but the pizza had no flavor. The chef salad was horrible, with wilted lettuce, shredded chicken, one peperoncino, and a slice of American cheese thrown on top. My dog wouldn't even eat the cheese. I have been a local since 1976 and have stayed away for years. Gave them another chance and will never go back! Whether you choose to dine in the restaurant or on the beach, Mark Anthony's rarely disappoints. It seems any time we go to Onset Beach we grab one of their Italian-style pies. When you walk into this eclectic and energetic space you can't help but notice the pizza chefs as they are prominently stationed near the front window. I think watching them knead and shape the dough as you order adds to the appreciation of your first bite into the crispy and chewy crust. The only time I had a bad experience at Mark Anthony's is when my teenage son wrapped his $700 retainer in a napkin so he could eat and I mistakenly threw it away thinking it was trash. Twenty minutes later we returned to the restaurant. This time my takeout included three garbage bags of trash that I brought home and searched. I never found his retainer, but I did learn that people love to put ketchup on everything. read more

As a kid growing up at my grandparents house in onset every summer - this was the place to be! Returned 07/21/24 with my boyfriend and two kids and SERVICE: the one girl who took my order was clearly not sober and barely keeping her eyes open, but was very pleasant and friendly. The gentleman who I assume was the manager was also very helpful and kind. FOOD: the chicken fingers were plain and gross, the regular fries were basic and unsalted, the curly fries were also plain and overall blah. The pizza was greasy and thin but absolutely delicious and just as I remembered as a kid! PRICE: $63 for a cheeseburger, chicken fingers, small regular fries, small curly fries and large cheese pizza with a pitcher of root beer- if the food was good this would be worth it but definitely won't be spending this money here again.
