Been a few years since we returned. i went for dinner the other night and got off on the wrong foot when I arrived. We went there to celebrate after a church service. i asked a late middle aged woman, we all had bulky coats as most people during winter, asked "do you have a coat"closet response No! instead of accommodating us, the waitress did, sir you can hang them on the chair, put in in a rack for coats!, nearly a couple hundred bucks to listen to terrible off key music, Spaghetti and meatballs $20.00 , food good, ambiance , Christmas twinkle ceiling lights? For money your charging give customer a real napkin, upgrade interior, add a dessert menu.. having waitress stand there with "fake desserts" ridiculous, for her and the customer, chocolate cake good. We visited Carluccio's again recently. As usual, we had a wonderful dinner and the wine was fine. My husband had the steak and I had the Saltimbocca for the first time. Both our meals were perfection. The service was excellent and of course came with a smile. Can't wait to go back and try another dish. read more

We've been several times and have been pleased but this last time was horrible. We ordered takeout chicken parm, a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and a small cheese pizza. We should have looked before leaving but the pizza was burnt and dried out. The "Caesar" salad was just romaine and a couple croutons. No Parmesan and chicken was dried out. Very disappointing considering the price. Update, 8/30: I received a message from Joanne who was deeply apologetic and reimbursed me for our disappointing meal. This was a gracious gesture on their part. We will certainly consider giving them a try in the future, but will probably be dine-in to avoid surprises. read more

We frequent this establishment, a go - to place for delicious food at reasonable prices. I usually get the chicken piemontese with angel hair. Have had their pizza and beef bracciole as well. A warm and welcoming neighborhood Italian restaurant with delicious food from sandwiches to pizza to your favorite Italian meals. What a gem this little place is. Delicious freshly made food, excellent service and a small nice bar. I used the Daily Deal to try this restaurant. so glad we did. a definite return. the owner, chef, Carlo visits each table, chats with customers and assures all is well. we waited a few min. for our dinner to be prepared as everything was freshly made, and piping hot. I have the pasta primavera with fresh vegetables & angel hair pasta. delicious focaccia bread served with seasoned EVOO, and garlic bread accompanied the dinner. My husband had chicken marsala with penne pasta, ample au jus as well. delicious blend of flavors, and light Marsala gravy. the desserts are fresh from the North Boston area. From the minute you walk into Carluccio's restaurant, you feel like you are right at home...The food was outstanding from the chicken parm to the Alfredo...to the Chicken piccata...you can't go wrong with anything you order from the menu. How often do you see the owner greeting patrons, bringing out their dishes, and checking on food going from table to table? The food was good, but the service was terrible. Waited 1/2 hour for sweetener for my ice tea.. When the main dish came out everyone in our party had to wait 10 minutes for their side of pasta to to come out. By the time it came out the main dishes were cold. After food was served, no one came back to check on us. It took another 1/2 hour to get the check. Very disappointing. read more

Dined at Carluccio's for the first time Saturday night. I can't say enough about the customer service, ambiance, and especially the food. We had to wait for the last couple in our party of six and the owner introduced himself and showed such pride in that his family helped to provide our dining experience. He then brought some of his homemade meatballs to tide us over. As soon as I tasted those delicious meatballs, I knew our meal was going to be just as good. I had the seafood a diavolio which was incredible! My wife, who is a veal parmigiana connoisseur said it was the best she's ever had. All of their pasta is homemade and their desserts come straight from the North End's Modern Pastry. Our server Devin, couldn't do enough to ensure we had a perfect meal and a perfect evening. Five stars is not enough for this review. We'll definitely be returning to this fine dining establishment! read more

The chicken remipito was excellent. 3 suggestions: more garlic and much less black pepper on the garlic bread. Grate Parmesan at the table. It's too nice a place for the little shaker. Wanted to like this restaurant but, my Caesar salad had grains of dirt in it. Then my garlic bread with cheese had dried overcooked cheese. Then my main meal, lasagna was burned on the bottom. It dried out the cheese and the taste was throughout the slice. When the owner walked through and asked how everything was, I told him. He was nice enough to comp the half eaten meal. Which I appreciated but, it never should have been served since it was a cut piece that was heated and sauce added so whoever prepared it could have seen and never served. My sister and I ate here for the first time tonight. The Potato appetizer was out of this world and the rest of the meal was great as well. White pizza was perfect. Nice complimentary bread too. REALLY good desserts. We had the lobster tail and chocolate mousse. Service was great and the owner even stopped by the table to see how we liked everything which shows how much they care. We have eaten here twice. The food is outstanding and the service friendly and very professional. We've had the veal, eggplant, chicken strips for kids was a 9.9 according to my grandson. Warm bread came to our table right away and the Caesar salad was awesome and my wife and I split it. Highly recommend! Had dinner last night with 2 friends at the new Forestdale location (former location of Industry Ale House). We sat on the bar side in a booth. We all ordered something different, chicken Parmesan, cod and clams with pasta. Everything was very good. Service from the bartender was very good also. Nice selection of wines by the glass. The menu offers something for everyone from paninis to full meals and pizza. Owner stopped by to say hello (nice touch). Will definitely go back. Prices are reasonable also. read more

Six of us had a splendid dinner last night at Carluccio's (on 130 in Sandwich) last night. We were warmly greeted by our waitperson and also by Carlo, the owner (who came back to check on us a few times during the evening). Drink orders were taken and we quickly put in orders for some appetizers for the table to share prior to ordering entrees. Bread was brought with the drinks and the apps arrived shortly thereafter. We had two orders of antipasto and an order of fried calamari. Everyone raved about the calamari (we probably should have ordered two of those since it went fast). On our recommendation (since my wife and I have eaten here a number of times) everyone ordered a veal dish--five different veal dishes in all were consumed to the delight of the diners. The veal dishes all come with a side of pasta (your choice of three different pastas), topped with a sauce appropriate to the preparation of the veal. Absolutely delicious and the veal is incredibly tender. After a short break, our server brought out the dessert tray, Italian pastries from "Modern" in the North End. A few items were selected and eagerly consumed to end the meal. This was a family gathering--two of my brothers and our sister-in-laws--and dining at Carluccio's felt like we were enjoying dinner at a relative's home without the need to help with the dishes at the end of the meal. lol Carlo is rightly proud of the family recipes used at his restaurant and we are grateful that such a warm, welcoming, and delicious restaurant has opened up in that part of Sandwich. read more

I got the Chicken Piemontese (veal also available) "Freshly pounded, breaded & sauteed cutlet with Basil Butter Sauce" cooked perfectly - side of angel hair with a basil butter sauce too. Yum. My husband got the lasgana "Creamy Ricotta Cheese, Italian Sausage, sauteed Ground Beef, Eggs, Parmigiano-Reggiano, our Signature House-made Red Suace topped with Mozzarella" - my friend got the chicken parm - huge portion - enough to take home for next day's lunch and her husband got the best meal of the night - the special chicken and shrimp alfredo - we all tried it - it was delicious. We were regulars at the Industrial Ale House but sadly that closed during the Pandemic. We tried this for the first time last night with another couple. Our waiter was a college kid with just 6 days experience but he was not the real problem. We ordered 2 apps which were good. When they came we asked to give us 1 minute order dinner. 15 minutes later we ordered. Chicken parm, a pizza and veal scaloppini and a side of mixed veggies. Dinners came with 2 Caesar salads no croutons. I ordered a side a linguine. 25 min later waiter came with my parm & 2 salads. Said rest would be right out. 15 min later I started to eat my cold parm & discovered it was veal. The waiter came back and said we got someone else's order. Another 29 min later our order came with everything but the mixed veggies. After 2 hours of being there we paid and after that the veggies arrived in a to-go container. The owner had come by with most of my parm gone and no one else had gotten food and asked "How was dinner". Although he was aware of our terrible experience, he offered no comp at all. read more
