We chose Marcelino Art after having met Marcelino and discussing our project. We wanted to renovate the existing, outdated kitchen but not replace the cabinets. We also decided to have an existing entertainment center painted to match the cabinets as they were in the same general location. I have provided before and after photos showing the work. We went from the old brown wood look to a much more modern blue. Marcelino and his team were excellent to work with. They were always on time and very polite and friendly. I can't overstate how great it is to have people arrive on time and as discussed (may seem obvious but I've had the opposite experience from other contractors). The work itself was done extremely well. They took great care to mask and tape everything off and created what was essentially a confined room to encapsulate the painting. The finish on the paint (varnish) was exactly what we wanted. This was definitely the correct approach from a cost/value perspective. Job was to stain stair case. It was ok, I wouldn't say flawless. The finish started wearing off after 2 years. Could not get him to fix it even offering to pay him. I have to find someone else to do it and nobody will fix it, they all want to redo it so thousands of dollars wasted. To be clear we did not ask for assistance right away but first did in october of 24. After paying a referred touch up person they were unable to complete the job due to the materials marcelino used and so we asked again for assistance in December. It is now may of 25. read more

Marcelino and his team did any absolutely AMAZING job on our kitchen cabinets! He completed a sample of the color that we liked so we could see how it would look on one of our small cabinet doors ahead of doing the entire kitchen. The finish and quality of their work was incredible. They came in, took the doors off the hinges and back to their shop to refinish and then spent almost 2 days prepping, taping and covering. Sanding, priming, 2 coats of paint (with sanding as they went along) and the final matte covering the cabinets game out smooth and flawless. Their attention to detail and filling in old gaps in the cabinets along with ensuring that when the tape came off everything was perfect was exactly what we hoped for. i hired Marcelino to paint the wood beams in the ceiling of the family room in my 1970s tract house. The original beams were cheap wood and painted solid gray. We had Marcelino's team faux finish the big beams in our great room and kitchen, and the fireplace mantle in the great room. The original color of the wood was dark burgundy that didn't fit well with the wall color and furniture. Marcelino brought brothers Juan and Jorge, who mixed some custom samples, and we chose which ones we liked. The beams and mantle, which we chose to be different in color, turned out beautifully in a "Santa Barbara" color palette. The brothers covered the walls on plastic and were completely professional. I have a split rail fence in my back yard separating my lawn from my pool. We want the gate operative at all times, as it serves as a safety feature for small children. Recently, the latch was broken, and we worked hard to replace it with a heavier latch. However, the latch had to be relocated on the post, leaving two big, ugly holes where the prior latch had been. Our handyman, who replaced the latch plugged the large holes with white Bondo. It worked great, but looked sooo ugly. Bondo does not accept stain (trust me, we tried). My husband then had the idea to locate a painter/artist who could paint the Bondo areas to make them look like the rest of the posts (wood). This is not something that your typical DIY homeowner can do, so I went online and was lucky enough to find Marcelino, of Marcelino Custom Finishes. Not only is he a great artist, but he is super nice and personable, and reasonably priced for the work that he does. I feel fortunate to have found Marcelino.
