First off let me say. We love having Marcello's in town. It's a good option for a date night and the vibes are phenomenal inside. The decor is great and it's a wonderful set up. While I do enjoy Marcello's there are a few things that hold this back from being a 4 or 5 start restaurant in my opinion. The first thing is the price. It's very pricy. The drinks are expensive but the food is really expensive. A "pizette" which is a flatbread is very costly for what you get in my opinion. But with that said, they are really good. Same with their sandwiches and pastas. Expensive but generally good. Wit that said, I have found their food hit or miss. Sometimes it's really on and it's phenomenal. Other times it's average. So a bit inconsistent. The service is just okay. I have found the bartenders a bit aloof. But they do make mighty good drinks. My favorite thing is the sausage egg rolls. Highly recommend them. The pizza is also quite good. I will keep coming here but wish it was a little more reasonably priced.

Im stunned at the low rating! I love going to Marcello's. The food is always on point and I always say, if you want a good drink, go to Marcello's. The bartenders are fantastic. The drink menu changes seasonally. The pizza is always cooked to perfection. I've never had to complain about anything

Came here to eat win a friend as this is halfway for the both of us. There is plenty of seating throughout the entire restaurant. The service was great, waitress was super attentive to us and answered any questions we had. I ordered the chicken parm with the pasta in vodka sauce (chef's kiss) & my friend ordered the shrimp with pasta (not sure which specific one it was). She also enjoyed her meal. The portion size was a good amount! The food was so good I ordered some for my husband to go.

Marcellos has a great vibe, fantastic service, and good food. I recently met a friend here for a weekday lunch and we had a nice meal. The complimentary bread and butter was also delicious. We ordered the Flounder Francese (which you don't see often) and the Chicken Francese. Both entrees were accompanied by mash potatoes and broccoli. We fully enjoyed our meal. The only thing we did not care for was the Tiramisu we got for dessert. It was more like a cup full of cream than a true Tiramisu. They have one menu for lunch and dinner. I wish they did have a lunch menu at a slightly lower price point with lunch specials.

I came here for lunch with my friends and our babies. Service felt very rushed. We were in and out within an hour. Our waiter basically came to us asking if he should pack the food for us to go while we were still eating. They do have a great amount of variety for drinks and food but I opted for a house salad. I also ordered a mac and cheese which was really not what I expected. It was more of a cheese sauce than anything.

Trenton style with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms! It's the bomb or bussin! First time here! Service is great.

The pizza was delicious! Trenton style rocks! Great service and ambiance. You should try it. Nicolina took great care of us. True customer service! Best server in Bordentown!

This place is a decent spot for a Trento style tomato pie. The dough in my opinion makes the pizza and it's a solid pizza that anyone can enjoy. The menu has several other options which all sounded pretty good. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a drink and a pizza at a bar.

I'm in town for work and saw the Yelp reviews and people I worked with recommended this place. I ordered the chicken parmesan, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. If you want pasta as the side make sure to tell them since it is an upcharge. Everything was great.

Cute restaurant in Bordentown! I love the vibe and greenery decor. We sat for drinks at the beautiful bar. Cocktails were super tasty! You can tell they use premium ingredients.

I typically enjoy it here but my most recent visit was really disappointing. It's a very cool space, they open the front windows overlooking the street. They also have outside tables. It was super hot so we sat at one of the high tops. The menu is huge- pasta, pizza and sandwiches.Happy hour is from 4-6 with drink and app specials. Our server took our drink orders then they arrived 15-20 mins later. When they arrived she brought the wrong drinks. Instead of saying sorry about that she offered to remake it. No big deal accidents happen. The lemon martini was super sweet. More of a dessert cocktail if you like those. They have traditional or sticky calamari. We ordered regular with both sauces. The sticky sauce had a great flavor with a bit of heat. The calamari was way over cooked. We would have liked it better if it wasn't overdone. We also tried the Arancini. They were crispy and good flavor but only 2 to an order. Wish the waitress would have told us that when there were 3 of us. Pizzas were delicious. We really liked the white pizza. The sauce on the margarita was sweeter than I like but crust was great. After our pizzas were finished we had to wait another 20 minutes to get our bill. We got up to find our waitress who apologized and said she needed the manager. Still unsure why we only order a few things and it was all on the bill. We were the last people in the restaurant as they were cleaning up around us. Maybe just a slow night for the kitchen? Don't come here if you're in a rush or paying a babysitter.

Portnoy's 8.2 on Marcello's Trenton Tomato Pie is legit!! (For anybody who isn't aware, Dave Portnoy reviews pizza around the country, has a very big following, a huge influence on pizzerias, and is a very difficult scorer. 8.2/10 is a great score according to Dave's metrics and he prefers traditional bar pies.) This was the first time I've ever been to Marcello's and it didn't disappoint. We had reservations for a large party as we had a family event in town earlier in the day. When we arrived every seat at the bar was taken but the high tops around the bar were available. By the time we left the entire restaurant was packed which is a testament to the quality food, drinks, and service Marcello's provides. Our table for 10 was ready for us when we arrived. Our table ordered a few beers and my girlfriend and I had cocktails. The few people who had beer really enjoyed the Kronenbourg 1664 which was our servers recommendation. My Gin martini was very smooth and my girlfriend's specialty cocktail (a variation of a mojito) was very aesthetically pleasing. We both loved our drinks. We decided on ordering a bunch of pies to split between the table. We did 2 Trenton Tomatoes, a Brooklyn Style Margherita, a Diabla (spicy but delicious!), a Clam Pie, and a Trenton Tomato with Vodka Sauce. Every pizza we ordered was incredible. Great crust and undercarriage providing a pleasing crunch & chew without being burnt. Each pie was uniquely flavorful and we did not regret ordering any of them. My favorite was probably the Diabla, but if you're not a fan of heat this pie may not be for you. The table favorites seemed to be split between the Trenton Tomato and the Brooklyn style Margherita. I had a hard time picking between the two myself. Our server was actually incredible, but I forget his name otherwise I would have given him a mention. He was so kind. Was very helpful with his suggestions. Full of energy and passion for his job. He even asked what we were there celebrating and gave the special individual a complimentary dessert. My first time here was a big hit. It's unfortunate it's a bit of a hike for me otherwise I'd visit much more often. Everybody had a great time, and enjoyed the food and service. Props to Marcello's for checking every box that you'd use to measure a dining experience and a day out. They knocked it out of the park.

Heart of Bordentown! How wonderful, how tragic, how appropriate. If you grew up in America, you already know this place, even if you have never set foot in New Jersey. Sticky floors. PBRs at three dollars a pop. A shot roulette wheel. The smell of old beer and older hope. And a menu that could be printed on the back of a cocktail napkin: wings, burgers, fried somethings that used to be animals. Tofu even makes a cursory appearance. I ordered a whiskey and ginger ale, and they did not ask me what kind of whiskey, either because there was not a choice, or because in a place like this, the existential choice is always "yes." It came in a pint glass. Nine dollars. Heavy pour. Good enough for the likes of me. My wife asked for a vodka soda. "Is Tito's okay?" the bartender asked, displaying more concern for the quality of her spirit than the average congressman shows for the quality of his constituents. The regulars were loud, but they were not mean about it. A group of young women celebrated a birthday. The entire bar sang "Happy Birthday" with the ragged sincerity of a people who have seen too many Tuesdays. It was beautiful in a slightly tragic, terribly American way. In the midst of our singing, one bartender, still seemingly a bbit green behind the ears, forgot how to make a Malibu Bay Breeze. Cannot blame him. Our rendition was raucous. Or maybe he just was not built for tropical cocktails. In any case, what is remembered about a drink like that is not the technique, but the intention. Listen: if you come here, order a beer. Or a simple mixed drink, no more than two ingredients, no more dreams than that. Stick to the wings or the burger. Nachos if you're feeling adventerous. Expect nothing fancy, and you might just find yourself accidentally, briefly, happy.

The only reason I didn't make this a five out of five was that I felt that it was very limited on the happy hour menu and wind up spending a lot more than I anticipated because we ordered off the regular menu in addition to just the hot wings and I'm not even sure if I drink choices. The beers were on the happy hour unless it was like two or three on tap so that was a little bothersome for me. It was hard to sort of follow what is and what Isn't but I think we'll give it a fair. Try one another time when Fifa games are not going on. We did order wings off the happy hour menu, but then from the regular menu I had the sesame tuna tacos instead of fries which I hate I had brussels sprouts but again there's an up charge to do that. My wife had the half cheesesteak she added sautéed peppers she added a chipotle. Aïoli and she also swapped out tater tots for whatever the fried choice was but everything was at an up charge. I haven't been to this site since it was Dublin Square which was a long time ago. Some of the layout changed. They no longer have the old bar separated from the dining area. Callie was our server and did a great job. I was there with some friends from SC. We started by ordering the large pretzel which comes out on a pretzel hanger along with some beer cheese for dipping. They also use that hanger for bacon. The pretzel was enough for 4 of us. I ordered the wings and selected Nashville Hot and Hog Sauce as my flavors. They claim they sell by the pound ($15.50) but it ends up being 8 wings. If you want to split flavors, they make it dry and bring the sauce on the side for dipping. Luckily the Nashville Hot is a dry rub. It was very good and not too spicy. The Hog Sauce is a combo of Buffalo and Garlic which was excellent. The wings themselves were plump, juicy and crispy. Five stars. Plenty of parking. Some tables available outside for outdoor seating when it ever gets nice in NJ. Bathrooms were very clean. You may find some little pink pigs around. Not sure if they're complimentary, but my wife took the one that was next to our table. My only complaint is they have too many of their draft beers designated for only 10 oz pours even with low ABV. I had a Kane Head High which was in a 16 oz glass. They also use OpenTable for reservations which I used as well.

The kitchen dominates the back of the restaurant with a huge pizza oven and white tiles all around, and a clean bright fresh look, as you pass by to use the restroom. Overall it was fine but not incredibly memorable. We were seated at the strange 6-top table right inside the front door. Like people almost have to shimmy past you to get inside. The service was okay but not great. On the plus side, when we ordered something it came on the quicker side and also later in the meal the manager came by and checked on us. On the meh side there were long periods without being checked on by our server and I feel like I knew a bit more about the menu from reading it than they did. The best thing we ordered was the pretzel. The rest of the food was just alright. Bang bang cauliflower was crispy but battered in what actually tasted like a more dense funnel cake batter and had a twang of fryer oil that was on the cusp of needing to be changed. The sauce was flat. Cheesesteak egg rolls were not good. Soggy (again the fryer oil) and the prevailing flavor was green peppers. (Where I come from a cheesesteak guarantees shaved ribeye, American or Cooper sharp cheese and possibly fried onions but green peppers I would say crosses a line) Mozzarella sticks were mid. Truthfully the extremely long and skinny plates the apps came out on were just annoying. I'm sure the dish and kitchen staff can't stand washing them and plating the food on them either. Just buy some oval or round plates bruh. The cocktails were fine but uninspired. I ordered a peach old fashioned... Bulleit was the brand of bourbon and there was supposed to be peach bitters, peach syrup and "fresh peach" but it came out again a little on the underwhelming side without much peach flavor and the "fresh peach" nowhere to be found. (I expected perhaps a slice of fresh peach?) I didn't take a picture of the cocktail menu but I feel like it many have been like $16 for a subpar drink. Don't mind paying even $20 for a cocktail if it's executed correctly. We tried a blueberry mule off of the mocktails menu but asked to have Tito's added. It was good and properly served in a copper mug with a sprig of fresh mint. There was some live music, a guy singing and playing a guitar which was a nice touch. I appreciated that we could still have dinner conversation and the music wasn't dominating the room- it was more complimentary to the dining experience. In fairness our time there was all apps and some cocktails. We did not try the entrees. I wonder if they would have been executed upon at a higher level. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Had some neat (copper?) sinks with waterfall faucets. In a day and age where things are expensive, you gotta be firing on all cylinders to stand out as a place for folks to drop their hard earned money for a night out. It was alright here... But I don't know if I would choose to come back over other options. It landed between two and half stars and three stars for me.

I passed it on the way to my hotel and immediately decided it was a place I wanted to check out. I'll admit I was a little alarmed when I walked in and realized it was giving neighborhood bar energy instead of the chic bistro vibes is expecting. I happened to arrive during trivia night, and most of the patrons seemed really into it so it was much louder and rowdier than I anticipated. So much for a quiet dinner. I asked the hostess if I could be seated in a booth away from the activity, but even in a less crowded section, the atmosphere remained pretty overstimulating. In addition to the enthusiastic trivia-playing patrons, there were loud, animated conversations among various staff members, music playing from staff member's phone while music was already playing throughout the restaurant, and just a lot of competing noise. After a three-hour drive, I was really hoping for a glass of wine, a nice meal, and a more relaxed environment. That said, the staff were all incredibly friendly and pleasant. You could tell that they genuinely enjoy working there and enjoy each other's company, which made it difficult to be too annoyed. Eventually, I popped in my AirPods and dissociated so that I could focus on enjoying my meal. For dinner, the Chicken Francaise with a glass of the Italian Pinot Grigio (The name escapes me at the moment). The wine paired beautifully with the meal. The chicken itself was a fairly thick cut and cooked perfectly, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. I also would have loved to see some of the risotto sauce drizzled over the chicken because, while the texture was spot on, the flavor was a little underwhelming on its own. The green beans were excellent. Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch and lightly seasoned. But the real star of the show was the Parmesan lemon risotto. That risotto is easily among the top three best risottos I've ever had. The brightness of the lemon combined with the creamy parmesan made for an absolutely unforgettable dish. I was genuinely disappointed that I couldn't finish it because every bite was fantastic. Honestly, I could have ordered a plate of that risotto by itself and left completely satisfied. While the atmosphere wasn't quite what I was looking for, the friendly service and that unforgettable delectable risotto made the visit worthwhile.

Walking to our table we were able to take in the overall beauty and romantic ambiance in every room which was exactly what I hoped for. Our waiter and the staff were very attentive throughout the night and wanted to ensure we wanted for nothing. The food from the complimentary bread, olive, olive oil and prosciutto to the cocktails to the entrees and cannoli for dessert were a 10/10! We had not a single recommendation for improvement. After dinner we popped into the piano lounge for a night cap and to listen to the band. The lounge itself is sooo chic and plush!!! And the wait staff and bartenders are all top tier...they truly know how to create and overall start to finish fine dining experience. Oh and the band was fun! They asked for (& got) crowd participation which was fun to watch. This was 100% an overall romantic and fun fine dining experience and we already said we're coming back!

The drinks are mediocre. I guess if you're older and want to pretend you're in a city waste your money there but otherwise I'd skip this. - this review sat in my edit since December and then I saw it and posted it. I was there for a chamber event in December and you wouldn't have my name they would. Good luck being defensive. Take the constructive criticism, either do something with the info or move on. Your fake high school response to every review is what makes these all the more real.

A cozy bar area greets customers if you want to grab a drink while waiting to be seated. They also offer upstairs seating, rounding out a welcoming and highly professional atmosphere that has stood the test of time.   THE FOOD * Bread Service: The bread arrived with a tasty honey, chive, thyme, salt, and pepper butter, which was a nice touch. * Kumamoto Oysters: Ice cold and refreshing. They were complemented with cocktail sauce, watermelon mignonette, and fresh grated horseradish. * Crab Salad Special: Served in a martini glass. It featured cold, chilled crab marinated with tequila, triple sec, and lime, carefully laid on a bed of avocado mousse with an Old Bay-lined rim. Delicious and refreshing during a hot summer evening. * Tri-Color Beet Salad: A roasted beet and citrus salad with whipped ricotta and a pistachio honey vinaigrette that provided rich bites. * New York Strip: Sourced from Allen Brothers in Chicago. A showstopper with excellent crust and beef flavor. We ordered the Au Poivre sauce, which was tasty, but the steak was so good on its own that I ended up using the sauce for my sides! * 14 oz Center Cut Filet: Also sourced from Allen Brothers. Tender as expected with a wonderfully executed crust. * French Bordeaux Wines: We ordered the Chateau Loudenne Medoc and the Chateau De Sales Pomerol. Both were tasty, medium-to-full-bodied, and served as excellent accompaniments to the steaks. * Tuna Special: Nicely seared tuna served over vegetables and udon noodles. * Limoncello Pistachio Tiramisu: Very light and a nice end to the meal. * Kentucky Butter Cake: Served in a cast-iron pot with vanilla ice cream. Yummy and rich.   THE SERVICE Our server, Gene, has been with the restaurant for 8 years and provided exceptional service. He was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, pointing out standout options like the pastrami-dusted bone-in filet and the 45-day aged tomahawk topped with a root beer bourbon bacon compound butter.   OVERALL A great steakhouse experience with a highly professional staff and a kitchen that flawlessly executes high-quality steaks. Excellent for special occasions or an upscale business dinner.

Everything is magnificent here and cooked fresh. I also enjoyed my lobster. Ravioli was magnificent and plentiful and I actually had to bring some of it home with me because we had a lot of snacking going on. Very thankful to the hard-working staff to take care of us so well. Everything was delicious and hot and the staff is really magnificent.
