It's really a shame what this place has come to. I've been going to this place pretty much my whole life. 50 years. The quality of the ingredients has gone down and the price is skyrocketed. My two for one pizza deal used to be $10 and change and since the new ownership stepped in, it's $17 and change. That's an outrageous change in price in less than a year. The small pizza is now smaller. I'm not sure if they think they're fooling anyone by cutting it into six pieces instead of eight. The staff are friendly and the service is pretty decent, but due to the fact of the declining quality and the skyrocket in price, I will not be returning. I'm guessing I'm not the only one that feels this way. I don't see this place lasting in the long run sadly. This isn't Marcellos. Been coming here my whole life, used to love to get a small pizza and loved their sauce specifically. Since new ownership has taken over they've changed almost everything good about the pizza. Sauce is different, no longer has the sweetness I preferred and cheese slides off the pizza every time. Go in there since the 70's - now under new management and new owners- got my usual steak and cheese sub and this time I was able to get my buns/ roll grilled with butter and it was fantastic. The best sub i've had there in years.. The owner was very nice, very personable. Prices are a little high but that's everywhere. I will definitely go back again soon- if you go ask for your sub buns/ roll to be grilled with butter, it makes a difference. read more

Bad dog!!! I stopped by to pick up a sandwich which was a large seafood salad. I asked them for lettuce and tomato and I would be by in a few minutes. When I picked up the sandwich the price was $12.35. The sign said $11 which was actually a recent price increase the actual price of the sub was $11.55. This should have been an $8 sandwich! I asked the cashier why he charged me $12.35. He said the food tax had gone up which was incorrect. He was just spitballing. They hadn't changed the price on their sign which was something that they only do every 6 months I know this because I've been going there since 2006. Deceptive business practices and pricing. When I got home I open the sandwich there was no lettuce and tomato on it so I called them up and ask to remake it and I drove back to the store. So I'm discussing my order and the old man at the pizza oven calls me a troublemaker and says don't come in again. The guy making my sub says if you don't like it call the Better Business Bureau. What kind of service is this? Google customer acquisition cost and you'll see that there's an arbitrary figure that businesses use to determine how much it costs to bring a new customer into the store. I can't stand how they do their "fried" appetizers (like, onion rings for example) that are breaded and grilled. For the love of God, get a proper oil fryer. Have ordered three times from Marcello's. I want to begin by noting that, in fact, the food has been very good. Sadly, the last time was truly "the last time". A Wednesday afternoon and the order was for two cold subs. Order taken and given a twenty-minute timeframe. Arrived 17 minutes later and gave my name to a young kid. Not ready. Fair enough, I'm a few early. So, I look around. Two people eating in the booths. That's it. Another guy already waiting ahead of me. Five more minutes. Two cold subs. Have been going to Marcello's when in the area (Dad lives in Whitman) as long as I can remember, even as a kid when I lived down there I remember going. Its a sub shop so kinda what you would expect from a local place. We got take out last weekend and I honestly didnt remember how GREAT the subs were, Got a steak & Cheese and it was Out of this world good. Ordered my usual two salads. Toss salad with steak tips, and a Greek salad grilled chicken. The steak tip salad came with feta cheese all over the steak which I do not like. The gross salad and lobster and the response I received from the Manager are completely unacceptable. I ordered a tossed salad with lobster on it. The salad came and it was the saddest looking salad I have ever seen. Small pieces of peppers with the white inside still attached, tons of onions and one or two wilted cukes. The lobster was WARM and there was so much mayo in it..... This gross salad cost me $21.99. I asked them to come back and get it which they did. The driver was told to give me $18.00. The driver refunded the remaining money. So I called to let them know what a class act the driver was.
