We used to absolutely LOVE this place but it's clear since changing owners it's not the same. Ordered subs last week and they were outright not good. Changed their distinct bacon on the BLT, smaller portion sizes at the same price point, ratio of ingredients was off. The buttered grilled roll was always the best detail of the turkey gobbler - still on the menu that way but not how we received it. Just felt like no attention to detail was there, everything was thrown together. At least the employee I picked the order up from was very friendly. They used to hit it out of the park every time and sadly that's just not the case anymore. I might give them another chance in a bit to see if they've gotten it together at all. It's really a shame what this place has come to. I've been going to this place pretty much my whole life. 50 years. The quality of the ingredients has gone down and the price is skyrocketed. My two for one pizza deal used to be $10 and change and since the new ownership stepped in, it's $17 and change. That's an outrageous change in price in less than a year. The small pizza is now smaller. I'm not sure if they think they're fooling anyone by cutting it into six pieces instead of eight. The staff are friendly and the service is pretty decent, but due to the fact of the declining quality and the skyrocket in price, I will not be returning. Can here in 03/29/26 with my girlfriend and her daughter. The service was good they took our order fast. The food was average they were not too happy that they had to make slices of pizza. The pizza sauce did not taste that great. The cheese was not good. I ordered a seafood salad sub which was pretty good, but they forgot the toppings that I asked for.. Go in there since the 70's - now under new management and new owners- got my usual steak and cheese sub and this time I was able to get my buns/ roll grilled with butter and it was fantastic. The best sub i've had there in years.. The owner was very nice, very personable. Prices are a little high but that's everywhere. Bad dog!!! I stopped by to pick up a sandwich which was a large seafood salad. I asked them for lettuce and tomato and I would be by in a few minutes. When I picked up the sandwich the price was $12.35. The sign said $11 which was actually a recent price increase the actual price of the sub was $11.55. This should have been an $8 sandwich! I asked the cashier why he charged me $12.35. He said the food tax had gone up which was incorrect. He was just spitballing. They hadn't changed the price on their sign which was something that they only do every 6 months I know this because I've been going there since 2006. Deceptive business practices and pricing. When I got home I open the sandwich there was no lettuce and tomato on it so I called them up and ask to remake it and I drove back to the store. So I'm discussing my order and the old man at the pizza oven calls me a troublemaker and says don't come in again. The guy making my sub says if you don't like it call the Better Business Bureau. What kind of service is this? Im new to the area and Marcellos has frequent ads on the radio. I believe it is 98.5 which is the station that broadcasts The Patriots. I had to try it as the ads simply sounded good. I can't stand how they do their "fried" appetizers (like, onion rings for example) that are breaded and grilled. For the love of God, get a proper oil fryer.
