Yeah, one of those. So about fifty suppressed swear words later, I'm on the phone with The Other Guy, and we're booked for a short window the next day. He jumped right in and dismantled the entire thing to clean it out, test out parts, and make sure he got it right. He showed me how the burner was glowing too hot, which means we'd just be replacing it again in a handful of months. We tested and tried different things on it, and he landed on an airflow issue (in addition to already fixing the broken part), and shortened our exhaust duct. He stuck around to make sure this fix was it and was going to take, and it's been humming ever since. I also found his pricing fair, and will go to him again (but good lord hopefully not for a while, we've had enough of these things this year). On last note -- just call him. I know. I want to send the message and hope it works out, but I think it's easier and more likely to happen if you just call on this one.

He ordered the replacement part and came back out a couple days after the part was delivered. He installed the part within a couple hours, probably closer to an hour. The cost for labor was very reasonable, and then the cost of the part completed the total amount billed. With this fix, the fridge/freezer should last another five years. I started to worry I needed to buy a new one when I couldn't find the replacement part online. I'm glad J & J was able to get the part and fix in a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable price.

TL;DR: the microwave was FIXED in less than 24 hours from my call to have them out! They were super easy to schedule with, and offered next-day service. Unlike a prior vendor who worked on the same part on the same microwave who required multiple visits, Able was able to perform the initial evaluation, diagnose the issue, and FIX the issue on a single trip, avoiding lengthy delays in a KEY appliance for our family! He cleaned out the coils behind the refrigerator and went to the store to get a replacement part for the fan. He only installed a portion of the part purchased since he said the entire piece wasn't the issue, only the fan. He then said he ordered a part on back-order for the water filter and freezer issue. He came back a while later to fix the water filter but realized the kit he'd purchased was missing a part and said he would be back with it and would keep us updated on the back ordered part. It's now SEVEN months later and we've not heard back. My husband has tried to call many times and has not gotten any answers. We feel that we were robbed of our $666.40- our fridge is still not completely fixed nor is our water filter/dispenser working. Dave was at our door half an hour later and by 10:00 he had diagnosed the problem, replaced the inlet valve (which he had on the truck) and was on his way to his next appointment. Pretty impressive. I certainly don't expect such speedy service everytime I call them, but I definitely will be calling every time we need appliance repair!
