Cool ambiance within Carr Mill Mall. Friendly staff. NY style Pizza and cheeseteaks were solid. Garlic knots were heavenly with delicious marinara. +1 for Cheerwine.

    Grandma Style pizza

Ordered a grandma style pizza to be delivered through #tocdelivers. It arrived fresh hot and delicious. This is a unique pizza to the area, and I will say it is one of the better. The toppings are plentiful and the crust was crunchy and cooked perfectly. Do again for sure!

The restaurant sits on Franklin Street, right in the heart of Chapel Hill near UNC. It's a lively, walkable area filled with shops and restaurants. Parking can be a little tricky--we circled a few blocks before finding a gravel lot nearby (free after 6 p.m. and all day Sunday). Inside, the place had an old-school, authentic feel. The staff spoke Italian, which added to the vibe, and the red curved booths reminded me of classic pizza joints from my childhood. The menu is posted on the wall behind the counter, and you order before sitting down. We also noticed their most recent health score was a 99, which was reassuring. My wife ordered the chef's salad, and I went with the meat stromboli. Her salad was fresh, colorful, and much better than the iceberg lettuce you often get. She enjoyed it so much that she finished before my stromboli was ready. When mine came out, it was served on a pizza pan with a side of sauce--it looked and tasted great. It was also clear they do a strong takeout business, with lots of people picking up orders and the phone constantly ringing. Overall, the food was solid, the atmosphere memorable, and it felt like a local institution that's earned its recognition. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Chapel Hill.

Hi giving an update to this spot, first of all it's under new ownership and is still under work to…read morebeing changed and all that fun stuff. That being said I'm not getting paid nor doing this place any sort of service exchange. Now that being said I'm doing my review of them just how I would anyone and will not have any special treatment and remember my reviews seem harsh but are actually honest and doesn't always mean I discourage trying them out. At the end y'all do your own opinion of them. 1- pizza is good price is not bad but dough quality in my opinion could be better but maybe it was a one thing missed in this incident but we will see once I try a different time. 2- we had pineapple on it and it was extremely sour and ruined the flavor of the pizza also it felt it hurt the cheese flavor made it more sour or it could have been the cheese but still not bad. 3 - the cheese sticks were actually delicious and well cooked and on the spot. 4 - we got chicken wings in those were near perfect, for the price and quantity and quality they were worth it and really well priced. Now that being said y'all should give them a chance and check them out, I'm sure they will get better in time and I would rather pay them then pay dominoes their outrageous prices for crappy pizza and always always messing up orders and not really caring.

What a gem! I…read morefound this restaurant through Yelp and decided to check it out and was truly impressed. I walked in and was greeted immediately. The place was busy and had Italian music playing in the background. It has tables and booths to the side with the main counter at front and you can smell the food as soon as you walk in. It immediately makes you hungry. We were seated at a booth and offered their free focaccia style bread with an olive oil accompaniment, which was delish. The bread was hot and crunchy, but not too much where you could still dip it in the olive oil. We then ordered a personal cheese pizza, the lasagna and the chicken parmigiana (which I didn't photograph). Everything was delicious! Our waitress was very friendly and funny. I would def recommend coming here and checking it out.

The interior, however, is very casual and family friendly. I ordered a pasta dish consisting of cheese tortellini, pink vodka sauce, shrimp, and spinach. The tortellini was cooked to perfection, the cheese filling and the texture all together was very pleasing. The sauce was delicious and featured roasted cherry tomatoes, which were very flavorful. The spinach was also cooked perfectly, and complimented the vodka sauce very well. The shrimp, however, was very bland; it, strangely, was very crunchy. When eating, it almost had the taste and texture of a baby carrot. The focaccia served complimentary to the meal was delicious! It was light and fluffy. The oil and crushed sun-dried tomato served with the focaccia, though, was also very bland. This could possibly be the quality of the tomato, it may not have even been sun dried tomatoes in the oil, I did not think to ask. The food came out in a timely fashion and piping hot! The server was very kind and personable. One thing I'd like to note is that on the menu, sauce options included an 'Alfredo' sauce and a 'butter and cheese' sauce. Traditional 'Alfredo' sauce is butter and cheese, no other ingredients; so, this was a bit misleading and odd. Overall, I would recommend Magone and will be returning!
