I brought my youth mentee here for dinner for her first time this evening. The staff at the register were great when it came to honoring and applying my entertainment book coupon. Our server snatched up our drink coupon as we were trying to make our way to the table, and had our Dr. peppers waiting for us at the table very quickly and to be honest, the staff encounters were the highlight of this experience and would have given 5 stars just on their attentiveness and overall personalities and work ethic! I must say I have never been here for dinner, only lunch and man was it packed this evening! I felt like the pizza options were limited and the quality was only so so. I don't like buffets but the kids wanted to try this place! It was crowded but parking wasn't a hassle. They only had one server and he did well to be working alone. The pizza kept coming out and they had plenty of options. There is something here for everyone. They even had a chocolate chip pizza. The price is very affordable. We had a family outing today and was looking for something very nostalgic. Everything from the pizza, salad, desserts and even the sweet tea was delicious. The restrooms were very clean and the employees were very sociable. We live about 45 minutes from this location but it definitely worth the drive back. Give them ALL a raise! read more

Came back again cos I was craving their taco pizza. After I paid and was heading to a table I noticed there wasn't any on the buffet so asked one of the workers if he'd make one. A gabbed a couple other slices to tide me over and filled a bowl with salad and toppings and sat down. My drink was already at the table. In no time flat the taco pizza was ready and I was off to the races to get some. Four slices later and I thought how fresh everything was! All the pizza and everything on the salad bar too. I went there to eat with one of my cousins and when we first got their it took a little while get us seats which is fine it's 1pm it looked a little crowded well anyways we got seated and we was waiting for our drinks over 5 mins the old caucasian lady that was a server around our table never once stopped to get us our drinks or check up on us or anything so i had to go to the front and requested if we can our drinks thankful the nice gentleman up front gave them to us and also gave us a upgrade on the drinks in a large cup thank you but the worst part was yet to come the old Caucasian lady never once asked if we need refills or if was okay or anything at all she just grabbed our plates and left she was just always attending the other Caucasian people in the restaurant really upset and disappointed I never thought I receive this type of treatment in Durham read more

For pizza out, it's pizza inn! We came here solely for the experience, and it indeed was a good one. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Pizza Inn on Duke Street has gone down hill! The salad bar was great. The staff kept it clean & constantly refilled as needed. HOWEVER, the staff cooking the pizzas fell their job! We really enjoyed our dinner outing to enjoy the buffet and salad bar. We had a variety of pizza, including the chocolate chip dessert pizza- a favorite! Everything was scrumptious and there were new pizzas being added to the buffet on a regular basis. The salad bar was full of fresh toppings and the captain wafer crackers always add a great addition. We also really appreciated the cheerful interactions with had with our server, Sarah, who was welcoming and made it feel like we were regulars. The pizza is so thin floppy, they don't have a lot of choices I highly suggest just going to cicis pizza. Service was okay and I feel bad for the one guy cooking and working the back he was working so hard to try and keep the pizzas/desserts stocked on the buffet. This place has been here forever. It's been about 20 yrs since I have been here. Nothing has changed or improved. It's cheap and I really expected Different menu. We paid when we walked in. They seated us with our drinks. On the rim of my cup was a black curly hair. I was grossed out but thought this could happen anywhere. So I went up and asked for a new drink. I got some salad and pizza I'm pick up my last slice on the first plate take a bite and start chewing only to glance down at my plate to see another black wavy/curly hair. Needless to say that was it for me. I spit my pizza out and lost my appetite. We mistakenly drove a longer distance to try this place instead of going to the CiCis pizza 12 minutes away. Firstly, the staff are pleasent and diligent, and ambience reminiscent of a comfortable Italian restaurant. However, the pizza needs a lot of work. It tastes like a tombstone pizza - no sauce, tasteless crust, and too much cheese. In addition it was $9.99 for buffet, which is very overpriced considering the quality of the pizza. If they changed their crust recipe and added more marinara sauce, I think that would make a world of a difference. read more

I went to Pizza Inn for the first time today. To say that I was not impressed is an understatement. The price is expensive ($16.00) for the buffet and there are not many choices. I put a slice of cheese and everything on my plate. Both slices were cold; the everything pizza was soggy. Even the dessert pizza that I was hoping would be good was not edible. There is always amazing service and amazing food when you go here! If there's a pizza on the Buffet that you want, all you have to do is say it and they make it and put it on! And every single person who works there has the best manners and is super attentive! Wow, this place has gone down hill. The pizza was bland and most was old. The veggies were not that great and the spinach had dead brown leaves in it. When you do get a fresh pizza it lacks the flavor "pop" we are use to in our pizza. Now, if this was CiCi's pizza price I would not have put such a bad review in. But, 8+ for the buffet and $2.50 drinks puts this in a higher class than it tastes suggest. Bottom line, just go to CiCi's same type of food with a fraction of the price. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR KID WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS HERE!! we normally visit this location frequently. It's the meet up place for our family and friends. Our kid has additional needs and can't eat a lot of items and pizza is one of them, so we typically just bring him fries with us, and everyone else eats buffet. We've never had a problem anywhere else, but TODAY was different. We came in , it was super slow , and as normal we have the adults and the kids. We weren't greeted when we walked in , but when the young man came to take our order the first thing he said was "he can't bring those in". We let him know that our kid has additional needs and we've come here several times before and never had an issue. He was very adamant that his owner doesn't allow anyone to bring anything else in. By his logic , this would mean that he expected us to eat in front of our kid, and him just sit there. Of course we're not going to do that. We let him know , we would not be patronizing this location and walked out. I will never spend any money here, if my kid can't enjoy his family and eat at the same time. read more

We kept having to wait in line for the buffet because ther was one pizza out at a time. We ended up leaving after one basically bare plate because it was taking forever to eat. This place is mediocre at best, i don't like to leave bad reviews unless I was really unimpressed. The buffet was about 15$ and the slices of pizza have little to no flavor, and aren't very filling. Definitely didn't get enough food for it to amount to $15. You also have to request a certain pizza for the buffet, so it's not very convenient. I'm a little biased because I've been eating dominoes for years and have never had a bad pizza with them, the only thing I can say about this place is that the food isn't filling and it's not enough to amount to the price. So it's Pizza Inn, you know what to expect, semi fast food pizza. What I got was a really clean restaurant, really decent pizza, and really good service. It was around noon, sort of busy, and I got the buffet. The pizzas were flying, salad bar was stocked, no shortages (i've been here twice, my previous experience was pizzas weren't flying, but then it was mid afternoon, that's on me, not them!). "OK, cheap pizza, with buffet" It's not awesome, and may not even be as good as Papa John's or Dominos, but it's decent pizza (better than Cici's). We had the "Veggie Max", and it was OK-- definitely generous with the portions of veggies as toppings. Ours was called New York style, but definitely wasn't traditional in that. I'd also recommend getting the large or grand size if 3 or more people are eating, as the large was "barely" enough for the three of us when not even all that hungry. My son had the buffet, and there were a decent number of choices of pizzas-- maybe 8 or so-- as well as a salad bar and a dessert bar. They have a Monday special where kids are $1.99, too. Service was good and attentive. We did not experience the loud country music another reviewer mentioned... there were some TVs playing, but quietly. Hands down my favorite pizza buffet! This Durham location is even better than most other pizza inns (even the original!). They have the best thin crust pizza and the dessert pizzas are to die for! Highly recommend the gooey chocolate chip pizza and the chocolate pudding. Price is great too! Highly recommend! read more
