I just ate Marcos pizza tonight and they get 5 stars from me! I think they have the best pizza in the watkinsville area! I had the Garden pizza minus the feta and added banana peppers . I come from a town (In Georgia) that has at least 4 Marcos locations. It's kind of the go-to pizza there. So when I moved to Athens and there wasn't a single location in the Athens city limits I was shocked! Luckily, Watkinsville isn't that far so I can still get my Marcos fix! Yes, the pizza is a bit more expensive than the other pizza chains out there, but it is SO worth it. I feel like the toppings and dough are fresher, the cheese tastes better and honestly, I don't have to request extra toppings because the amount they use is perfect. They also seem to offer more options than some of the other chains. Since delivery isn't an option for us (and that's fine. A little road trip for good pizza doesn't bother me.) we always pick it up. Every time we do this the associates make sure to show us our pies before we leave. They bring the boxes over to the counter and open up each box to make sure it is just the way we want it. They are very attentive and friendly. While I don't get to have Marcos as often as I used to because of their location, I am always beyond satisfied with the product and the service. If you are debating whether or not to try them, give them at least one chance. I promise it'll be worth it! read more

Marcos pizza in Athens Georgia was absolutely the worst pizza experience we've had in a long, long time! The delivery was close to an hour and a half. we were extremely disappointed with the food! we asked for a meatball parm hero and instead got two big pieces of bread with a few mystery meatballs and absolutely no cheese. Well, the pizza is definitely much better than the subs!! There is no way the subs are worth $8! Small, skimpy on meat, dry (even those with sauces and or mayo). The chicken used was rubbery. The steak and cheese was dry and lacked quantity. Also, expect long delays if ordering anything for delivery. read more

Horrible Costumer Service. I have ordered from Marcos multiple times and always had loved the food and gotten decent service. Today at 6:23 I put in my online order as usual. I put in my new address. We moved this weekend. 1.7 miles CLOSER to Marcos. At 7:44 I received a call saying that we aren't in the delivery area so they wouldn't be delivering our food. The pizza was suppose to BE AT our house at this time. Not receiving a call saying they were just now pulling up the order and realized that I was out of area even though I moved 2 miles closer. I asked to speak w the manager, Alexis, she was short and offered no solution except that they would "reverse the charge" that was already on my card for the meal. What in the world!?? I asked for the name and number of her boss and she said she could not give out the number. She took my information and said her boss would call me. Not likely but I will be calling daily until he does Bc this is no way to do business. read more

This restaurant had excellent customer service until Lee Dutton became manager. The management staff and employees were very nice and friendly and went out of their way to make the customers happy.Tonight when I called someone rudely answered the phone and put me on hold before I was even done speaking. Seems like poor management to me! Don't tell me that you don't deliver to my address when you business has for the past 3 months. I will not be doing anymore business with this company and will let everyone else I know to visit a better pizza establishment! read more

After an initial bad delivery experience at this location, I redeemed a credit tonight for a free pizza and it was very good. I highly recommend the white cheezy pizza! The employee who helped me at the front was extraordinary with excellent customer service skills. I'm glad I gave Marco's another chance and will definitely continue to be a customer. read more

Giving two stars as this is our 4th time ordering from here via DoorDash as they do not deliver themselves to my area. On all times they have incorrectly made our build your own pizzas, so figuring this time I would give them a call immediately after placing the order to ask them to please make sure it's correct before being picked up, the lady I spoke with reassured me she'll make sure it's correct. Well low and behold we just got our pizza and again but not to my surprise it is made incorrectly again. I called to ask them what happened as my pizza again from them is wrong and was told that they are training new people and that they know its a common issue they are having right now due to the new trainees. I get that I truly do but when they say they can't do anything for me that's sad as our family loves this place but now we will be looking elsewhere as it was poorly handled. You'd think since they know they have been having this issue they would make sure a manager or senior employees would do a quality check to make sure they are correct before going on. Marco's was highly recommended to our family because of a free cheesy bread offering on a school fundraising card. They should know that the positive word of mouth was a huge influence for our choice of dinner tonight. However, our expectations were built up only to be disappointed. Nothing was really wrong with the food. In fact, the pizza was beautifully put together. Both my husband and I said "that's a pretty pizza" when we opened the box. Also, they offer feta as an ingredient which is excellent. Everything other than the appearance of the pizza and the feta was just meh. The meatballs were mushy and not flavorful. The cheesy bread is second rate to the big chains. The presentation of the sub sandwich was questionable and messy. And the cost of a cheese pizza, 6" sub and cheesy bread was $50 delivered to our house. This included fees, a modest but fair tip and tax. read more

They had some common start up problems as a new business with new staff but they always made good on it for me. I have continued to order because I like the food and the customer service. The pizza is the best in this town and the salads a great healthy alternative to most other delivery service fare. I highly recommend Marcos. If you don't have a great experience call and speak to the manager or owners when they are available. read more

After being told they wouldn't deliver to my address dispite having dropped ads in the mailbox the day before and me having seen the delivery car across the street, I was finally able to order after speaking with an unprofessional manager. I ordered two pizzas, one of which was a garden pizza. 1.5 hours later they show up with one pizza and one garden salad. They said sorry and took 40 minutes to return with the garden pizza. No offer to make it right or comp my pizza. I called back to speak with the manager but was hung up on. I won't go back and will spread the word about the service. read more
