This was a great little restaurant find! The food was outstanding. I see several prior reviews commenting on size of servings and price increases. As new customers, we don't have that experience. We went on all you can eat pizza night and $6 select wine glasses and Beers. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will be back. We had very attentive service and lots of questions to gauge our satisfaction with our experience - which I appreciated. There is an online ordering option which could remove the actual server taking your order. While easy to navigate, I guess we preferred giving our order to a waiter. But we were never treated anything but well by taking that option. Overall a great experience and we will be back! read more

After hearing good things about Marco's pizza, we decided to give it a shot. I picked up a pie with mushrooms and sausage and brought it home. During the ride home all I could smell was onions, and I fully expected to find that I had been given the wrong pizza. But there were no onions visible, just sausage and mushrooms like I had ordered. However as soon as I took a bite, there was the onion flavor dominating the overly sweet sauce. I don't know if they ran out of pizza sauce and decided to use some marinara instead, but this is the first pizza I've thrown away in 30 years. Marco's boasts about their fancy mozzarella, but I couldn't taste it at all behind that overpowering sauce. I'm sure some onion lovers would find it delicious, but if you're searching for a classic New York or New Haven style pizza this is NOT the one for you. The poorly stretched dough didn't help either - very thick on the outside, but barely there in the center leaving a floppy mess. read more

We stopped in here for lunch today and boy are we glad that we did! Frank, the new owner, is delightful and he has a wonderful vision for this restaurant. I've now been to Marco's twice and both times the food experience was exceptional. For an appetizer, the Mozzarella sticks were fresh and their marinara dipping sauce is very good. Highly recommend the spicy margarita for drinks. And the pan seared Salmon in a creamy tomato sauce was by far the best salmon meal I've ever had. The ambiance was ok, it attempts to mirror a 1940's NYC Italian vibe with the wall art and the background music captures the feel well. Our server was attentive and kind, but missed providing helpful tips or sharing recommendations, highlighting specials or describing some of the meals to help us choose. Overall though, I would recommend Marco's for it's unique modern Italian cuisine. read more

My husband and I had dinner here tonight on our way home after I dropped a friend off at Bradley airport. So glad we did. Marco's is in an old fashioned window fronted restaurant along Main St. Inside there are linen covered tables, booths and wooden floors. Very charming and to me very Italian. Our waiter (Alex) was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. He suggested starting off with the soup of the day. It was a delicious creamy red soup with small meatballs and spinach. My husband ordered one of his usuals, Rigatoni Bolognese. He said it was very flavorful and the taste was up to his high standards. I had the Chicken Picatta over angel hair. It was light, lemony and tangy and had deliciously soft chicken pieces on top of it. Yum! Both of us took half our entrees home with us. The new owner, Frank, stopped by and said hello to us and asked how everything was. He was friendly and charming. He said they just got their liquor license so are now serving cocktails as well as wine and beer. While we were eating I noticed that there were a lot of pizza boxes being carried out so I asked him about their pizza. Told it was thin crust style. I'll have to try that next time I'm there as thin crust is my favorite. There is lots of off street parking in a lot adjacent to the side of the building. The restaurant overlooks the town green. Its is a very nice location. There are a few tables set out on the sidewalk for outdoor dining. read more

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, under the original owners. It provided excellent food, at a good value, with lots of extras, like bread with pesto. We travel far to get there, and were extremely disappointed in the very poor service. We walked out because we were not provided with water, or have our drink orders taken, after waiting 10-15 minutes. And its not like it was busy - there were maybe 5 tables of diners on an early Sunday at 5 pm. We also walked out because the prices were raised very significantly, and the salad that once was free is now being charged separately for. We went down the hill to another place, and were immediately served drinks and had our orders taken. We are retired now, and look for good food at a reasonable price. Sadly, Marco's is no longer worth the trip to Tarrifville. I wish the old owners were back. read more

Fabulous food, great menu, food always delivered hot, just the way you like it!!! Great price point and in the neighborhood. Check out their menu - nice variety of food - something for every hungry palette! lol When ordering thru delivery service, food comes on time, wrapped up very neatly and they follow the directions you ask for, and they provide a comment area for you to indicate your "special needs, etc. Try their food - I guarantee you won't be disappointed! Update 12/2018 - I'm still ordering Marco's at least once a week! My favorite thing is his homemade soups! BEST soup around! Especially the Spicy Corn & Shrimp chowder and the Seafood Chowder! I call 1-3 x a week just to ask what their soups are. When some of our favorites are mentioned, I order 4 Bowls via DineInCt.com . You better believe my husband pays attention that 2 are "his"! Lol. Still loving the salmon and Italian specialities. I'm doing keto now and Marco's is soooo nice about giving us a delicious mix of sautéed vegetables instead of potatoes or pasta sides. The food is pretty decent, however the service we received was horrible. When you have a waiter that rolls his eyes at you, takes his time and is disrespectful why would you go back. I have been if the food service industry for over 25 years, I even taught at several colleges and universities. I taught students that customer service is the most important factor to a customer, it will ultimately determine if you will go back and especially what you tell others. I have eaten here a couple of times and have had the arugula salad, french onion soup, spinach sacchettini ,and the wild mushroom ravioli. The calamari was excellent! Lightly breaded, cooked just right and not chewy at all. The best in my opinion. Today I tried chicken parm for take out and was not disappointed. Looked to me like fresh chicken, not a reheated frozen chicken patty. We used to eat here years ago when it was Elizabeth's and never really thought about coming back, until a local charity event where I was gifted a free bowl of soup. I have been to different Italian restaurant and have found that the foods are too salty or tooo much no original taste. but Marcos omg out of this world their appetizers fresh their onion soup out of this world. my new favorite tortellini dish! the tortellini santa rose was in a rich, creamy sauce that made me want to order it again and again. the bruschetta appetizer was perfectly crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside. the meal ended on a high note with the imported italian choc mousse cake. the chocolate chunks sprinkled on the cake made it extra special. we also enjoyed some unique wine-based cocktails that transported me to a summer afternoon. can't wait to visit again! read more

January 14th was my birthday, my husband and I went to Marco's for the first time. Server I believe was Hannah, she was great and very knowledgeable, made suggestions, very accommodating.The owner came over several times to see if we were happy. Marco's is our favorite restaurant. We dine there at least 20 times a year. Never had a bad meal and love the staff. My only criticism is that occasionally they are understaffed. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, so we can have a nice conversation without shouting to be heard. We're never rushed and consistently have a delicious and relaxing experience. read more

We went to Marco's for the 2nd week in a row last night. Once again, the meal was fantastic! I wish I could remember the names of the dishes we had, but one was a seafood pasta and last night was a steak. Marco know his way around a kitchen! Excellent food - both times. The bruschetta is a must! Toasted with delicious bread and cheese - very different and very good! The place is nicely decorated and very clean and quaint! Ed was our server both times and he was fantastic as well. We are very excited to find such a great place so close to home. It's worth a drive if you don't live close too! It's a must try! read more

I went to this restaurant with a Groupon and was very hesitant after I had read the reviews. To my surprise I had the most wonderful lunch in a long time - and I am very fussy. The waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive. We had our menu's two minutes after we sat down. They had my favorite Sauvignon Blanc, Nobilo, at $6 a glass - a first. Our drinks were again served minutes after ordering. My husband ordered the seafood chowder as a starter. I tasted it and it was truly amazing. Perfectly seasoned and creamy, not thickened with flour. We then had linguine giabatto. The linquine was cooked perfectly al dente and the chicken and sausage with sauce, demi glaze with tomatoes and roasted peppers, was delicious. The bread basket came with roasted garlic in oil and pesto for dipping. The price for the linguine was $8.95 at lunch and it was a fantastic deal. Don't understand the bad reviews at all - we had a wonderful lunch and will absolutely go there again. read more

Stopped by on a weekday afternoon for a late lunch / early dinner. We found the dining room to be a step above what we expected and a very pleasant setting....with Sinatra playing in the background....nice touch...and set up a relaxing mood. The relatively new owner, Frank, was there to greet us and talk us through the menu. Clearly his heart is into his restaurant and what makes eating at a small owner run restaurant so different from the chains. The food was wonderful...freshly made....and very good portions.
