This was a special with pork and a lot in mashed potatoes.

My husband and I came here for dinner because I was craving seafood but ended up having pork & veal instead. The portions are very large. Neither of us could finish. The staff were very sweet. I saw a drink on another table and loved how it looked. Ordered it and Wow! So good!! The bread comes out with oil, spices & chunks of garlic. Not exactly my favorite but it was tasty. The place isn't huge but the tables are nicely spaced and have small battery lights on them. It's romantic but you can be casual as well. It's child friendly. They have a separate room with a bar that you can also sit and order at. I enjoyed the food and will for a while. Of course I took it all with me. Though I spilt desert with my husband and it was delicious as well. We finished that.

Amazing food, drinks, service, everything. Meatballs were a 10/10. Sauce was fabulous and fresh. I wish I could've eaten more!

A delicious, creamy, Italian lager beer

One of the best meals I've ever eaten! Everything was fresh and packed, full of flavor. The service is outstanding as well. We had around a 2 hour meal with no rushing out the door, type of vibe. Our server was excellent and we even got to meet one of the original owners. The ambiance is rustic with a romantic, modern, feel. We were blown away by the wonderful experience we had!!! We'll be back for our next anniversary

    Swordfish with Butternut squash risotto

Amazing food! Mare E Monti will move into my Top 5 restaurants in Worcester with this latest visit. The cuisine is fantastic, service is excellent. I had the swordfish special. It was paired with a butternut squash risotto and it was delicious. For an appetizer my table tried the stuffed calamari. It garnered mixed reviews but I thought that the seafood stuffing was very tasty. The restaurant is vibrant. The tables are a little close and you will usually need to use the free valet parking but this hidden gem is a perfect choice for your Italian dinner plans.

    Mushroom Ravioli

These 6 pieces of mushroom ravioli were $25. Needless to say, I was quite sad. The ambience was loud, the service was ok. I hate leaving a low rating but I just can't fathom bringing this out to a table as a full meal and thinking it's normal even other photos of the mushroom ravioli on here looked better presented than this

    Table side Parmesan fettuccini

Been here about 5x. Great food, great menu options. Servers know menu well and make good recommendations. Food comes out pretty fast a nice hidden gem. On our way tonight!

    Linguine alle Vongole

I used to drive by this place thinking nothing of it until one of my cousin's told me this was the best pasta in Worcester. My best friend and I decided to check it out one afternoon and we were quite impressed! Parking is a little hard because there is no lot - it's street parking but does offer valet. It's a lot bigger than I thought! When you walk in, there's a little bar and waiting area then you walk up the steps and into the dining room. Pretty spacious and the lighting is quite dim. We got the calamari and caprese to start. Can't go wrong with fried calamari ever, but the caprese was just average. I was expecting some balsamic glaze, maybe I could've asked but it's whatever. Also comes with complimentary bread for the table with some really good garlic olive oil to dip. The star of the show was the pasta! SO good and flavorful! I don't remember the name of my dish unfortunately but I chose to have rigatoni and salmon as my protein and it was amazing. My friend got the Linguine alle Vongole and the sauce was to die for! We literally kept going back and forth on eachothers dishes lol. I would definitely come back just for the pasta not the apps.

    Amazing Seafood!

Too loud, food is good, but would not consider it the best. Parking can also be a challenge.

Sparse, rotating menu that varies weekly. I think I couldn't make this at home--a test for a place being worth the bill--so it's worth the price. It certainly felt authentically Italian. Service was great. It's a tight ship but they make it work. Ambiance was energetic being around the public market but the food is good enough that you can dress up. Wonderful date night/foodie spot. A few bar seats so definitely a partner or friend at max. Not a place to bring kids as it's dine in. Teenagers can walk around of course if you're having a couples night.

I usually take reviews of Italian restaurants very lightly in Massachusetts because if you use a…read morelarge restaurant review site to find suggested Italian restaurants in most cities, Buca de Beppo and Olive Garden usually make their filthy little way into the top 10, eroding all my trust in that site. (... and humanity) Case in point, most of the Italian dishes being reviewed by diners in cities like Worcester as 'very authentic' are fairly foreign to actual restaurants in Italy. There is TRUE Italian food and American Italian food (classic 'red sauce' joints) I will never besmirch a good classic red sauce joint like Dan Tanas, Rao's or even some of the Federal Hill joints. There is a place in the culinary pantheon for amazing spaghetti meatballs and veal parm ... however 'authentic Italian' they are not. What we got at Pasta Mani is TRUE Italian. In fact, we ate here not more than 2 weeks after coming back from Italy and I can honestly say that we enjoyed our meal here (from a taste perspective) more than many of the restaurants in Italy we ate at. (One with a Michelin star!) This chef's philosophy here is one embraced in Italy ... simple, fresh, cooked with care. The reason tourists go to Italy and geek out over the food is because we've grown up eating Italian food here which is good ... but not made with the same level of passion. Eating a dish of spaghetti carbonara in Italy vs. the US is like listening to the Beatles for the first time on vinyl, in mono! It's hard to find a chef with the knowledge and respect for the ingredients that are displayed here. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu. She was not afraid to make recommendations. She knew the dish's ingredients as well as the chef ... and she was as friendly as could be. The accompanying beer and wines matched the menu perfectly and also were mostly Italian. The menu offers not a lot of choices ... but there is something for everyone. It's not heavy on meat ... but nor are menus in Italy. Maybe a reason why folks over there are not often over 6 feet tall or 200 lbs. vs. many Americans whose 4 major food groups are bacon, burgers, chicken nuggets and occasionally lobster rolls. We had the octopus, which was done perfectly ... the flavors were spot on and the chef clearly knew taste profiles as well as technique. Watermelon and octopus! Who knew? He did. We had the peach pesto cavatelli pasta and the pasta Amatricana with pancetta. Both were amazing ... the favors combined so effortlessly but perfectly. Red pepper flakes, pine nuts, grease from the bacon, tomatoes. It was all just so ... great! All the pasta was perfectly homemade ... and available for purchase as takeaway. Before we knew it, we were regrettably too full for dessert. The chef came out of the kitchen, where 80's and punk music was blasting, and you could watch the cooking happen, to greet us. He had worked in some of Seattle's better Italian restaurants and apparently learned a thing or two. If he had said he worked in Napoli, Sorrento or Rome for many years, we'd have believed it! The only thing we weren't in love with was the actual 'food hall' setup which felt a bit industrial for our liking. But, it was oddly cool and comfortable in a Momofuku type of way. This chef and his team deserve a restaurant. 5 seats and a chef's table are too small for the talent level. This was one of the best Italian meals I've had outside Italy or NYC. In Worcester, near a ballpark ... go figure. We also noticed that everything in the 'restaurant' was spotlessly clean ... and I mean spotless! We'll be back for sure. Places like this that don't serve a fried brick of chicken smothered in cream sauce and melted cheese and call it Italian are few and far between in Central Massachusetts. A great vibe, a great staff, a great meal! If ya know ... ya know.

With the rain and wind outside, we hoped the restaurant might be a little quieter than usual. That thought disappeared the moment we turned into the parking lot. We grabbed the first open space we saw and headed for the door. Score! We snagged the last window table just as another party was leaving. Choosing the first pizza was easy. Their Polpette (meatball) pizza has long been my perennial favorite. Since it was Two-for-Tuesday, though, we decided to branch out and try their Eggplant Pizza as our second pie. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Waters appeared almost immediately, and despite the restaurant already bustling, both pizzas arrived surprisingly quickly. Perhaps that's because Volturno bakes its Neapolitan-style pizzas in a 900° wood-fired oven using dried oak, where they cook in just 60 to 90 seconds. Both pizzas arrived piping hot with tasty thin crusts and were cooked perfectly. There was just one problem--the Eggplant Pizza was so good that it ended in a dead heat with my preferred Polpette. That's high praise. More than half a pizza came home with us, but little was left by the end of the night. If you haven't tried Volturno you're missing out on some great pizza, whether it's Tuesday or any other day of the week.
