Probably my new favorite place! Came here on a slow Tuesday night but it didn't disappoint. Sat at the bar with my husband. Our bartenders name was KANNON and he was fabulous. Recommend a drink to me and I loved it. We ended up staying and chatting with Kannon forever. I recommend trying the scallops. They were amazing as well. We will be back for sure!!! I have been there twice now. Twice for dinner and once for lunch. I got the brisket hamburger and that was delicious, the deviled eggs are really good, the Frito pie is really good. I will mention that when I went for lunch I was very surprised at how small the portions were for the tacos. I got the shrimp tacos and they weee very good but there was only two or three tiny shrimp on each one. This was surprising because the dinner portions were large. If you get the shrimp tacos make sure to get an appetizer. read more

Well we made our way back to eat properly at Marta's Texas Kitchen..and so glad we did! We got the fig and goat again, delicious, and as main course the shrimp cheese and grits, and the chicken fried steak jalapeño...delicious all the way around!! Some elements of the food were good and some elements were not. The BBQ chicken seemed undercooked, with most of the flavor being the BBQ sauce. The risotto was good, but most of the flavor was overwhelmed with BBQ sauce. Overall, it was ok. the atmosphere was energetic and laid back with a degree of sophistication- specifically the drinks. We had reservations for ourselves and a visiting out of town guest. The drinks were great, then the rest of the meal went down hill. It was an A&M football game night and the place was dead. The service was subpar. We ordered appetizers, salad, main courses and dessert. The pacing of the meal was horrible. We had so many things on our small table. Our main course dishes were placed on the table while we were waiting on clean salad plates for the shareable salad. It was so rushed that we were served all of that and were given our bill in about a one hour time period. I wrote the restaurant to explain our experience. My bride and I decided to check out the, mostly unadorned, from the outside anyway (tiny sign), newest restaurant in SoCo's "The Yard at Caprock Crossing" (yeah, we are a LONG way from the caprock). We only noticed because we frequent "Uncorked" next door (also new and a must visit for fellow winos). Crowded, but not packed on Saturday 15 Oct. They take reservations but when we called the had stopped taking reservations for the night (about 5:30pm) .... BUT said to come on by and thye could probably work us in. We thought that's never optimal, but sure. So, we show up about 6:45 and to our relief were seated immediately and the place wasn't full. So, they need to work on their communication 'cause we almost didn't bother dropping by. Our waitress was no doubt new at her job, but very nice and when didn't know how the Brussels Sprouts were prepared ... she went to find out! I had the CFS with a pistachio breading and a jalapeno infused gravy. Now, don't get scared, it only had a hint of heat with a pleasant afterburn as I finished. The "smashed" potatoes with were great but maybe toooo many. It was a little difficult to cut the CFS without scattering spuds around the table (but I'm old). BUT, the CFS itself? Excellent. Maybe the best quality cut of beef in a CFS I've ever eaten. Really. No scrappy moo cow or gristle to fight thru. It cut and chewed nicely! My bride had a steak and thought it pretty good as well, but I can't review her meal. All in all, a very nice meal in a nice spot (well the other review talks a bit about the decor, it was fine). My wife and I loved this place on the outskirts of town. We were looking for an outdoor patio as we had a dog w us. The service was great. Very accommodating. Food was great. Served healthy portions. This has got to be one of the best restaurants we've ever tried in College Station!! Came here to celebrate for school but realized that this is a perfect date night location. Food is priced really well for what we got. I got the Thunderbird and my wife got the sirloin. Both were perfectly prepared and we were so pleased! Their drink menu is also amazing and very reasonably priced. Very quiet for a Tuesday evening but I have a feeling once word gets out this place will get packed! Definitely give it a try and we'll be back for sure. Also the Texas Sheet cake is phenomenal so if you've still got room then share a piece. read more

However, the music they were playing was so loud that I could barely talk to the person across the table from me, when I asked if it could be turned down, they said, no, so I doubt if I will go back to this place. Everything was really really good. The drinks were great and that Chicken Fried steak with the Jalapeño gravy was over the top. I'm anxious to go back and try more of the menu. Service was very good too. That is sometimes hard to find these days. The only minor problem we had was it was really dark in the restaurant. That made it hard to read the menu and even see the food. I noticed the guy at the table next to us using the flashlight on his phone. So maybe work on your lighting and adjust it a little or add a brighter candle to the tables.
